This is the place to go if you wanna get bombed, play darts, karaōke once a week, see some freaky characters of south side, and think you are in a time warp all at the same time. Not your scene? Get drunk and go bowling then go to McDonald’s across the street.

Unless you wanna do a little drunk bowling, there’s really no reason to go to this bar. It’s just a big disappointment. Only reason it has some recognition around is because of The Office, which it only shares the same name as the bar on the show.

Poor Richard’s is located in a land that time forget. Cramped inside a mostly empty bowling alley, their food is slightly below average, the prices are good, and the bartender wonders why you bothered to come by(out loud). The fame from The Office has long passed, and now only bored regulars go there, plus the occasional road trip traveler(like me), who shows up with higher expectations than I should have had. It’s cool to be able to check-in at Poor Richard’s, but that’s about the only positive. My recommendations would be to stop in, have one drink, and then leave. You’ll get to say you went, but won’t waste much time at what was probably a really nice place, a long, long time ago.

Of course as being AWESOME ‘The Office’ fans, my girlfriend and I had to make an appearance in Scranton, PA! Our experience was a little on the up and down side. First of all, the food in Scranton is grrreat! Hoagies are the way to go and the prices are pretty cheap for what you get. So this is what happened… First the place is a little hard to find as its in a bowling alley w/no signs outside. Once we figured it out the bartender was ok, not too friendly, even after we told him we were out-of-towners. We placed our order…45mins later, no food! Apparently he forgot to put our order in. So he offered us 2 free drinks(1 each). I asked if instead we could just do a pitcher being that we waited for so long. He agreed. The food came out and was deilsh. When we were done, the check came and this turd charged us for a small pitcher when he made us believe that he was giving us the pitcher instead of the two drinks. Unhappy w/the service we were not too pleased with the whole experience. Make a stop there if you like ‘The Office’, but don’t expect good service.

It’s OK. Average low end bar. not a great selection of beer, bottom of the shelf liquor. don’t go here because you heard of it on the office. it looks nothing like the show. But you can get a pitcher of beer and bring it out to your lane. if you want to spend $ 40 to bowl for an hour that is.
