History

Established in 1987.

Scranton Dodge Chrysler Jeep is co-​owned by brothers Matt & Dave Pompey. Their father purchased the dealership from Chrysler Motors in 1984. The 2 sons took over the day to day operations in 1989 and have guided the dealership for the last 23 years.

Several delapidated building were razed to construct a large and technically advanced body shop called the Scranton Collision Repair Center. It serves as one of NEPA’s largest collision centers and provides expert body repair and collision work for All Makes and All models — not just Chrysler products.

In 1991 Matt & Dave Pompey purchased Tunkhannock Auto Mart and in 2001 opened a brand new and advanced Chrysler Showroom. SDCJ is a multiple 5-​Star Recipient and continues to score high marks for superior customer handling and problem resolution.

Business Owner

Matt & Dave Pompey are Co-​Owners and both live in the Abington area with their wife and family. Both owners attended local grade schools and graduated from Scranton Prep — Matt in 1979 and David in 1981.

David received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. Matt received his BS in Business from the University of Scranton. Both brothers worked in the private sector for several years gaining experience and advanced skills before returning to the family business in 1989. They are actively involved with community events, charities and fundraisers.

Not much to say. The sales department is fantastic rich fistler is a great guy. My salesperson always kept up with me made sure evrything was ok. he called every 3 months to do a check.
The service department on the other hand is horrible. Bought a used car last year and immediatley after i bought it had transmission problems. Service guy said nothing wrong with it that was normal with this type of vehicle transmission.
Well this was in november, the car was put into storage for the winter and when i brought it out in the spring still had the same problem. Well since i was told it was normal i kept driving it till it started kicking out of gear. So i took it back. They said the clutch was bad and it was going to cost upwards of $ 1500. When i asked to talk to someone they told me the person wasnt available he’ll call me back. The next day at noon i called still not available. Skip forward. I had to call 7 days later and was transferred between 3 people.
Finally spoke with matt who said it wasnt covered and they wouldnt work with me on the cost. His exact words were «I will not.» His reason is the tires were bad so the vehicle wasnt properly maintained. So he wont do anything. The vehicle has been to every maintance call oil changed religiously. Only 10,000 miles have been put on since it was bought last october. And the tires were low on tread then. So needless to say if you buy a used car from scranton dodge, be prepared to be taken for a ride (no pun intended).read the other service reviews on this page. You’ll get the idea how they treat their customers. And me who bought a used car for $ 30k. .

Horrible service, walked around parking lot for 25 minutes before I decided to go in the store. Was greeted kindly by a lady at the front desk, but again waited while employees walked all around. The salesman I finally talked to seemed like I was interrupting his day. To make a long story short, when I told him I was going to shop around for the best price, that was it, he logged off the computer and told me to tell them to beat the price if they want. Will not go back here even if they do have the best price.

Was in search of a quality pre owned at an affordable price. After a few months of searching I found a vehicle at Scranton dodge. From the first email to the dealership i experienced exceptional customer service. From beginning to end… rich and ray handled everything including finding me the best finance rates.

This place is the worst. I got a recall notice that my air bags could deploy at any moment and I needed a part to fix it. I got the recall on jan 4th 2014 and called immediately. They said I was «50th on the list and they would contact me in a month or so» 3 months go by and I get another notice in the mail to get the airbags fixed so I call again. Now I’m 30th on list and I’ll expect a call in a few weeks. Long story short, a YEAR goes by and I finally file a complaint with
. So I call them back and tell the lady that now there is 2 open recalls on my jeep and I filed a complaint. All of a sudden she says «oh your next on the list I was going to call you this week» that’s such bullshit. I was furious. Then they make me wait over 2 hours in the waiting room. Their business practices are horrible. I never will recommended this place to anyone.

We’ve bought 2 vehicles at Scranton Dodge now and it’s always a good experience. Least amount of salesman nonsense I’ve ever dealt with. Kevin Moylan is a good guy and straight up on the vehicles. I’ve chatted with a few other salesmen and I’m sure they’re ok too. Good deal.

These guys are an absolute joke on the service end. I took my jeep there for an inspection and a problem with an airbag sensor. I was first told that they would be unable to sticker my care b/​c of a license plate cover. Then after that they told me that the sensor problem was so serious I should leave the car there until they ordered the part, which I was told would take 3 days. I never heard anything after the 3 days and called to see what was up– it only took me an additional 2 days to get a hold of anyone, only for them to tell me the wrong parts came in. They then told me to pick the car up and I was good to go, giving me the inspection sticker. They explained they would call me back when the part came in. It has been 3 weeks and I still haven’t received a call from these guys. Absolutely unprofessional– don’t go here for service, buy at Tunkhannock.
