NH Academy of Performing Ars (NHAPA) offers a complete dance education program for both the recreational and intensive student. Our curriculum includes a youth program (ages 2.5−9years) including Pre-school, Primary, Ballet/Jazz Basics & Hip Hop Basics. For ages 8 and up, we offer leveled classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary & Hip Hop.
We are currently accepting registrations for both our traditional program and Fall session-based programs for youth and adults. If you are interested in joining us– please call us to schedule a visit and complimentary class!
Both the traditional and session based programs are taught by our dynamic faculty offer the same quality curriculum to students. Our traditional program runs for approximately 30 weeks commencing with an annual performance. Our sessions run for 4 – 6 weeks, offering the choice of a shorter commitment to students and their families.

Since 1957, NHAPA has provided quality training to mor than 20,000 students and 3 generations. Headed by Founder/Director, Marie Patent, our professional faculty bring a wealth of knowledge, training & experience to our students. Over the decades, NHAPA’s faculty has been proud to train and touch the lives of thousands of dancers. We remain committed to emphasizing strong technique in the disciplines of classical ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, & hip hop. Our mission is to inspire and educate while motivating students to develop the skills needed to help them lead a more fulfilling, productive and happy life. Our goal is to foster success in the arts, in school and in life.

Artistic Director/Founder/Choreographer
Marie Patent is a 50 year accredited member of the Dance Teacher’s Club of Boston, Dance Masters of America and Dance Educators of America. She is also a member of the National Council of Dance Teachers with the American Society of Dance. A founding and active member of the Boston Ballet Society & the NH Dance Teacher’s Organization, Mrs. Patent has been a dance educator for 57 years, Described by many as the «first lady of dance» on the seacoast. She has received many awards for her choreography including DEA’s President’s Cup in 1997. She has volunteered her services for innumerable community and school programs for the arts including Winnacunnet Regional High School drama department, Hampton Academy Middle School, Newburyport Yankee Homecoming, Seabrook Old Home Days and the PTA Association. She established and implemented the dance program for the Hampton Rec Dept. & has taught at dance conventions both regionally & nationally.
