Couldn’t ask for a better esthetician! Dodie is funny, caring and amazing at what she does! She knows her stuff! Waxing, facials, brows she does it all!

This review is for Sara, who allowed me to make a super late threading appointment (8:45!).
I generally like to get my beauty maintenance taken care of before I leave for a vacation (albeit a short one) but the day I stopped by my usual hole-​in-​the-​wall threader in the Bay, it seemed as though everyone and their mama decided they were going to get their brows taken care of because there was a sign in sheet and 6 people ahead of me waiting to be seen.
College is over. I don’t do waitlists.
While I was on the train to the airport, I texted my cousin to see if there were any late night options in the area and he gave me Sara’s number, pulled from the internet. I figured it was a long shot but decided to give her a call. The friendliest sounding lady answered the phone and advised me she would see me at 8:45 if it was convenient for me.
Sara was finishing up with a client when I arrived, and greeted me kindly in spite of the late hour. The procedure was quick but thorough and I felt uncharacteristically relaxed when she was done. Threading doesn’t usually have that effect on me.
I don’t know how often I’d be back considering I am not from the area but I would certainly recommend her to other people!

Always something, this visit was for tinting of eyebrows and lashes. Also some facial threading. Sara did her usual excellent perfect job. My brows look great, I love them. Going here is a very relaxing experience and personal. I did not even want to get up out of her lounge chair. The Beach cottage is by appointment only and I like it that way. Today I am going back for forearm threading. Yes, you read it right. Getting rid of those yucky fuzzy blonde hairs!

Had my very first facial here and the owner Dodie did an awesome job. She explained everything all the way through and when done my skin felt amazing! You could see and feel the difference for quite some time. I highly recommend Dodie she is great!

Very clean and cosy place with very attentive and friendly staff. I have only been there so far for waxing but Dodie did a very thorough job. I am very particular and this place more than met my expectations plus the convenience of Main Street is perfect for me.

The first job I ever had was working at friend of the family’s beauty salon when I was 11 years old, so I’ve gotta confess… I AM A PRODUCT WHORE! During my mid-​thirties my best friend convinced me to get a Brazilian wax and I was mortified at first, but after hearing how much her boyfriend loved it, I thought I’d try it. I first went to the Zen Spa in Huntington Beach (now closed due to the owner’s divorcing, rest in peace, sad face)…and totally lucked out that I got Leako! Leako (which means «clever beauty»…so true!) is a consumate professional, and trust me, with this type of procedure… YOU’D BETTER BE! She won over my trust and customer loyalty years ago, so when Zen closed down, I went where she went.
But after that first procedure (?), I learned that Leako and I have a huge passion in common… she LOVES taking care of skin just as much as I do. Over the past five years, I seriously don’t think I’ve aged, (in part) due to her remarkable pumpkin peels, and product choices for me. While I trust her COMPLETELY with my privates, I appreciate much more that she takes the BEST care of the part of me that everyone sees first! MY FACE!
I am often told that I have great skin, and while I know that is part luck and genetics… I also believe it has a lot to do with a devotion to water and great skin care régime. Leako uses Dermalogica Age Smart line (make a shrine in your bathroom vanity for the Age Smart Skin Cleanser, the Daily Microfoliant, the SPF 30 face lotion), and her secret weapon is the Jan Marini skin care line. I am TOTALLY HOOKED on the Jan Marini Eye Cream (as my best friend says…“use it BEFORE you need it… by the time you need it, it’s too late!”), the Bioglycolic Body Scrub (translation: amaaaaazingly soft skin… like you just got out of the shower soft all day!)…
Don’t let the small size of the salon or the reasonable prices fool you… Leako is the greatest investment you will make in preserving your skin, and more importantly, YOUR FACE! She totally knows what she’s doing, will help you figure out what treatments are best for your skin type, and really cares about the overall well-​being of her clients. I feel like she really gets it that when I feel and look good, I do better in life. Thanks Leako!

I’ve been in to see Sarah for waxing, and she is just awesome. Besides the fact that she does a great job, she’s so professional, and makes you feel really comfortable. Just as someone else said, she works very quickly, and she’ll also be sure to use different types of waxes depending on your skin and the area. Since I’ve got really sensitive skin I totally appreciated that.

Wonderful experience at this day spa! The owner Dodie is really lovely and seems to know what she’s doing. After a really bad waxing experience it was quite refreshing to be in a place that I felt comfortable. The Brazilian wax was quick and less painful then usual, I would definitely recommend!

Leako did a great job, very knowledgeable and friendly. The salon is a bit small and feels cramped.

I am one of those women who have been wanting to try out a Brazilian wax but never seem to have the nerve to do it. But today I finally did it!!! Contrary to what I’ve heard about waxing down south my first experience wasn’t all that bad thanks to Dodie :-) She made the whole process really pleasant. She was very professional. She took the time to explain what she was about to do and made me comfortable the pain was actually tolerable and that’s coming from someone whose tolerance to pain is nada! So if anyone of you gals still putting waxing off your list, go to Dodie and you won’t be disappointed.

I love this place! A friend told me about it who sells skin care products. Apparently there are some places that «re-​fill» their Dermalogica/​YON-​KA bottles up with «other stuff» and you can tell! Just sayin… I never have to worry about that at Beach Cottage. It is a small place and very quiet and peaceful. I think it is privately owned and there is a woman there named Dodie who will really give you the treatment. It is reasonably priced. Totally worth it! Wish I had to the money to get a facial more often cause I walk out of there looking ten years younger.

I didn’t know that waxing could actually be plesent. The atmosphere was great her friendly personality made it painless. I had great experience for first time waxing my back. The shop is clean and relaxing. I read all the reviews about doddie before I went and all was acurate. She was so great I also got a facial Highly recomment if Ure a guy getting waxing or facial.

When I still lived in LB, this is where I went for my facials, waxing and micro-​derms (w/​Dodie of course!), and I never had a bad experience there. Cute and quaint little shop in the heart of Main Street Seal Beach. Nice people. Great products (Yonka). Expert care. I highly recommend Dodie of course, especially for a micro-​dermabrasion. I desperately wish I lived in CA (or had plans to visit soon) b/​c my face really needs her help on a regular basis…

What wonderful experiences! Leako has been waxing my pits for several months now and it has always been 100% better than my experiences in the past. Last week I went to her for a bikini wax, it was my first time ever waxing down there, and I was a bit nervous and not sure what to expect. Leako made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. I ended up doing the entire Brazilian! I had no irritations whatsoever, and I’m really glad I did it. Although it is always a little painful to get waxed, she does an extremely good job at making it as quick and painless as possible. I have never had such a gentle waxer, and I have been waxed by quite a few people. It was never awkward or weird and it was over in no time. Recently, Leako has helped me with my problem skin, we’ve done 2 mini facials and my skin has already shown improvement. I cannot wait for my next facial, I’m excited to do the chemical peel! I am so happy and grateful that I found such a unique, caring person whom I can talk to and feel comfortable with to help me with my skins needs. I will be going to Leako for everything I need for the rest of my life! So glad I found her!

I am so happy I found Leako & Beach Cottage Day Spa. My friend told be about Leako for her waxing abilities & I needed a personal waxing asap! I called Leako and she promptly called me back to schedule. She was totally on time and I was stoked. I expected the waxing to be uncomfortable but Leako made it way more comfortable. I liked her way so much that I booked a mini facial! She had an advance peel that was safe for me & my skin felt super great! Leako was very caring and kind and that was a special surprise. Had my first facial here. This wasn’t high on my list of things to do, but the Wife made the appointment. Was glad I went. Dodi told me that what I had been doing with my skin I should continue. Don’t think I really need facials but I may go once a year to have a good cleaning.

I started seeing Sarah a couple of months ago for bikini waxing before she moved to this location.
I am a very modest/​easily embarrassed about nudity type person and I am extremely sensitive to pain, so I was scared s***less before my first appointment.
Sarah made me feel super comfortable right away because she is very sweet and easy to talk to!
She works very quickly, but accurately and I am always happy with the results.
I would recommend her to anyone who is squeamish about the whole waxing thing. :)
I wouldn’t dream about going to anyone else!
The spa its self is small but beautiful! it smells great and is super clean.
It is street parking, but very easy to find a spot.
*TIP: buy the numbing cream that she sells and use it the first few times you go in. It helps A TON!!! I think it’s about $ 20 a tube, but it lasts forever and a little bit goes a long way.

i LOVE this place. dodi is awesome! she knows how to quickly and comfortably remove ethnic (curlier, thicker) hair — so she’s cool with me! :D it’s a bit of a drive for me, but i am too comfortable and more than pleased with dodi to venture anywhere else!

Best day spa ever!
Dodie is the best at everything, especially waxing! So fast and doesn’t really even hurt. The spa is super clean and there is always yummy water with fruit in it and relaxing music. The prices are the best around and you shouldn’t pass this place up!!!

So I have been to my fair share of places for brazilians and i have to say that Beach Cottage day spa is my favorite. The prices are great but the service is even better! Dodi is wonderful. She makes you feel comfortable and is fast! Even though I have moved further away i will continue to make the drive to seal beach just to visit Dodi. She keeps me hairless and my husband happy!!!
