Merle Norman Cosmetics and Spa

So I made my daughters ear piercing on Monday for the following Saturday. We leave Saturday get to appt 10 mins early. Mind u that we live in whittier and it’s raining that day. My wife and daughter go in while I get my son. The girl Melissa is telling my wife that we don’t have earrings to fit your daughter. That they have been out for over a week and a half. I’m asking WHY I didn’t get let know when I made the appointment or why wasn’t I called during the week. Through out this whole time the girl is not apologetic. She didn’t seem to feel bad at all. So we leave UPSET at the bad customer service. So I call on Monday. Didn’t know it at the time but I was talking to the same girl that helped us on Saturday. Now Melissa is being very apologetic letting me know she let the owner know Sara. So I hang up and 10 mins later I get a phone call from Melissa saying the owner Sara is going to give us a 10% discount if we want to come back. I say no thank you. We went somewhere else.

My husband called last Monday and set up an appointment to have our daughters ears pierced. He set it up for Saturday at 2 pm. So Saturday comes along and we show up 7 to 5 minutes before 2 pm. We go inside and tell person working that we have an appointment to get our daughters ears pierced. She then proceeds to tell us they are all out of earrings her size and that they have been out of earrings her size for over a week and a half. My husband then asks why he was never told this when he made the appointment and specifically told them it was for our 3 month old daughter. He even asked why no one called him during the week to tell him they were out of earrings. All the employee said was that they should have told us. NO apology!!! We drove there with 2 kids in the rain from Whittier to Seal Beach!!! My husband and I were pissed! This is NOT customer service. They should have offered us a discount to come again for SOMETHING! We left and took our business else where which they did a fabulous job and they were so patient with our daughter!

I had my makeup done recently by Mina and I had such a wonderful experience. I loved the way she did my makeup. I can’t wait to go back and see her for my next big event.

I had a really bad experience at this place. I knew one of the managers there and was recommended by another friend to get my makeup done there for my engagement pictures. I showed up about 10 minutes before my appointment, and the lady who I had an appointment with was still with her customer. Well, that customer also brought their granddaughter with them and the Merle Norman employee decided to do her makeup as well. I sat there and waited AT LEAST 45 minutes before this employee was done and started on me. She didn’t even apologize for making me wait, and she told me that her customer asked if she could do her granddaughter’s makeup even though she didn’t have an appointment set for her. I WAS FURIOUS! My engagement pictures were right after my appointment at Merle Norman, so I had to get my makeup done one way or another. Needless to say, I will never go back to Merle Norman, because their customer service is horrible. I thought it was SO rude that the manager MADE ME WAIT 45 minutes, when I was the one with the appointment.

Let me start by saying, I never wear make-​up. Ever. I was getting married though and I heard rumors that a bride should gussy up for that special occasion. I came here at the recommendation of my mom for a trial as she used Merle Norman Cosmetics when she got married over 30 years ago. I had an appointment and was immediately seated by Chelsea. She took the time to understand the look that I was going for and my skin type. Chelsea was very patient and professional as she showed me options and applied the make-​up. I was very pleased with the final outcome.
To help lessen the stress of the wedding day prep, they offered me the option of coming in to the store to have my make-​up done, or to have Sarah and/​or Chelsea come directly to my home to do my make-​up. I opted to have them come to my home. Sarah and I chatted a few days before the wedding to work out timing. Unfortunately, I was running a bit behind getting my hair done the day of, but Sarah remained patient and even offered to make a Starbucks run while she waited for me to get back home. When I got home, Sarah was fully prepared and ready to go (and with Starbucks in-​hand for the both of us!). While I had very much liked what Chelsea did for me in store, I was blown away by Sarah’s job. The make-​up job she did on me was phenomenal and it stayed put all day long with only one lipstick touch-​up needed. I can’t thank Sarah enough!

I had my makeup done by Sarah for my wedding a few weeks back and just loved it. She has been doing my makeup for years but really outdid herself. I had 3 trials prior to asking Sarah and was not impressed. I received compliments all night and did not have to re-​touch my makeup once. You will not be disappointed!

Excellent customer service, very clean, very nice ladies working. Our 4 month old daughter got her ears pierced and they were great! Strongly recommend this location ONLY. Do not go to Westminster location.

Sarah is the owner of this Merle Norman in Seal Beach. She also is a licensed makeup artist and you can hire her to do your makeup as needed. I’ve been going to her shop for the Merle Norman cosmetics for years and had gotten to know her and thought of her right away when I was looking for a make up person to do my son’s bride-to-be’s make up at the wedding site. The bride-​to-​be came down to the Seal Beach shop and had a trial make-​up session a few weeks prior to the wedding and then on the day of the wedding Sarah came down to the venue and performed her magic on the bride. OMG did she look beautiful!!! Everyone at the wedding commented on how wonderful her make-​up was. Sarah took plenty of time to make sure the bride was happy with the final make-​up applications. Thank you so much Sarah for your hard working and as always, it’s a pleasure working with a true professional. If you are looking for someone to do your make-​up for whatever the reason Sarah is your up-​most professional make-​up artist. I recommend her highly and of course all of the products used are Merle Norman so you cannot go wrong.

Sarah has helped so many of my clients and is such an active member in the Seal Beach community. Merle Norman is such a wonderful business. We are blessed to have them around. Only good comes from here!

Sarah is amazing. She did a makeover on me me for a photo shoot. She heard my concerns about strong products with my skin senstivity, and did an amazing job. No breakouts at all. She made me look like a princess. Thank you Sarah, I highly recommend you to anyone who wants to feel «pretty»

Sarah is wonderful and Merle Norman’s products are the best! Twice in the last week I’ve had someone comment on how good my skin looks. One was the optometrist I had never been to before and the other is a long-​time friend. She learned over the breakfast table and said, «Your skin is beautiful… you look 10 years younger!» Woo hoo!
I’ve been using the gentle polish once a day and Brilliant-​C toner and moisturizer twice a day for about a month now. This is a regimen I can stick with. And the fact that the products are made in the U.S. is a double bonus.

WOW! Sarah is absolutely awesome! I called at 10am today and she was able to squeeze me in at 12:30 — made my day!
I had previously gone somewhere else for my last bikini wax and had a terrible reaction afterwards. Before Sarah would even book my appointment, she asked me several questions about the reaction, trying to figure out what happened to take precautions so it wouldn’t happen again — WAYYY appreciated! She told me that if it happens again, to come back and see her to figure out what it is, talk about caring!
The wax itself: Let’s be honest, it hurts. But Sarah kept me at ease the whole time and so far… no tears and so far no negative reaction — it was definitely the special wax she used and her tender charm ;)
I will definitely be back for future waxes and I’m going to have to go check out all the cool make-​up products too; the store is full of different things and I wish I had more time on my lunch break to peruse all the goodies!!!

Took my 7 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced. I was very nervous and wanted it to be stress free… and the MN girls did not disappoint! They were so kind and loving with my daughter and took the time to make the piercing experience perfect. I would recommend them highly and will tell my friends when their girls are ready!

Sarah and the girls here have such a great flair for what looks good on someone. The colors they chose for me were definitely not the hues I would have picked for myself, and they looked GREAT! The fact that they have individually packed lip samples for making you up is wonderful– you know the products haven’t touched anyone else’s face and are completely sanitary. Also, if you make a make-​up appointment for a night out, be sure to have Sarah give you smoky eyes– you won’t regret it.

Sarah did my make-​up for my wedding and she did a spectacular job! She is very professional, knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. I was so happy with the results and highly recommend her!
