Seal Beach Police Department

My wife and I decided to drive to Seal Beach today with our 3-​Chihuahuas to a dog friendly restaurant named Rivers End while visiting this summer from Arizona.
We attempted to park but a gentleman stood in the parking spot and would not let us park. He said his wife was arriving so we waited thinking she was somewhere in the parking lot? He was rude and obnoxious and after waiting 5 minutes… she still did not arrive. He became more obnoxious as we indicated he had NO RIGHT to block a parking spot and I advised I would call authorities if he would not let us park. He became more obnoxious and said go ahead… they just don’t get it… so I did.
Just before the Police arrived, two gentlemen came up to my window and said they understood the situation and they were leaving the restaurant so take their spot. WHAT GREAT GUYS… wish we got their names. So we parked within 50″ and proceeded to get our buggy out for our dogs while this guy is still yelling at me that I am going to jail? Go figure?
Seal Beach Police arrived and pulled up to him and I walked over. Seal Beach police handled it perfectly! One officer spoke to the other gentleman while the other came over to talk to me.
While talking to the Officer, another young lady approached and she said that he did the same to her. Officer asked we to enjoy lunch and while walking to the restaurant, 3 other folks asked if they needed help as a witness since they saw everything!
We had to wait to get our table outside and both the gentleman and his wife apparently were asked to leave.
BOTTOM LINE: Police Officers have a very difficult job to do for US… don’t know their names but handled it perfectly. AND… we live in Arizona so we want to thank ALL OF YOU that witnessed this unpleasant event and came to our support.
This guy is a BULLY and we all need to STOP BULLIES… in a low key, reasonable and professional manner and that is what I tried to do. Otherwise, this BULLY will hurt someone/​some day.
Again, much thanks to the Seal Beach Police Officers that arrived on the scene and for those Californians that came to our defense. Wish we knew all your names but we Love you Guys1

I would not recommend that anybody visit this city because of the militant parking ticket system they have here. I have to fight the ticket that I received after my visit to Beach Wood Barbecue this last Friday. At lunch time they send out their parking ticket guy to the one hour zones at a time when they know that parking spaces are VERY hard to find. I am so disgusted about this whole event. I have provided evidence to the contrary that I exceeded one hour. I was going to spend more time at the businesses that day but after i saw this totally uncalled for ticket I immediately went to the police station to dispute it and then left immediately thereafter. Yeah they might get their stupid $ 43 to keep their little income stream going but I will win the war by never visiting their pathetic city again. I feel sorry for the business owners in this city.
And Seal Beach Police Department I am insulted by your mission statement, You have not only not improved the quality of life for me as a visitor but you have accomplished the opposite; disgusted me, raised my blood pressure and making me never want to vist your city again. Oh yeah, I am VERY angry about this event.

Very attentive. Very professional. This place though needs to be open a minimum of 12 hours. 9 – 5? Really? Crime doesn’t have to punch a clock!

Terrible service. The watch commander is never available to speak to you. You only get an answering machine saying he will call you back.
I informed the «Volunteer Police Station»…on the pier in person, called the police station, and spoke to a grounds crew person over the course of two weeks informing them of a illegal camp site made in the bushes near the River’s End restaurant behind a power utility gate.
Everyone of them reported they would respond to the issue and clean it up… weeks later the blanket, empty whisky bottle, trash, and boogie board remain.
That is really shameful all those city servants most getting paid do not care to do their own job!

I had a noise complaint because I was having a party. The cops talked to me and were very professional. I shut the music off and kept the noise down. Great PD

seal beach and los al share a department. or i guess i should say «department.» i call them seizure world security… unless of course they give me a ticket in which case i feel they are the best cops ever and it’s an honor to see them on the road…
