Seal Beach Volleyball Club

Take your money and put an inexperienced coach out there. Promised help from the staff but the coach was left solo. The club sold her and the kids out. Research other clubs. SB is all about money.

Wow, I was very surprised when I read the other reviews. This is our second year at SBVC and I am very impressed!!! Coach Maria had guided the girls through the qualifiers to start in Gold Division 1. The coach has the parents keep stats at all the matches and she reviews game film with the girls. She is organized and detail oriented. I am very confident that Coach Maria will develop my daughters skills on the volleyball court. The Coaches that my daughter has interacted with in this club have all been a positive influence on her both on and off the court.

Parents don’t represent club very well. An 18s parent (presumably whose kids have played years of club) very inappropriate at a mandatory. Right or wrong, the behavior and sportsmanship of the parents courtside reflects the philosophy of the club.

Club has great coaches, but it is very disorganized. The schedule is all over the place and often changes are made last minute.

So this is the Seal Beach Volleyball clubs philosophy. Didn’t see too much of this on my daughter’s team. Lots of mean girls and a coach who did not know how to make this a cohesive team. There was definitely no camaraderie on this team and I am very disappointed in the coach, who by the way is one of the owners of the club. Got the feeling it was all about the money and for the $ 3K we paid, wasn’t worth it. My daughter was made to feel like she was not a worthwhile volleyball player and was humiliated by the treatment from certain team mates all the while as the coach stood by and watched and did nothing about. Shame on you Rick!
