Specialties
Ocean Beaches Glassblowing & Gallery focuses primarily on blown glass, providing near daily glassblowing demonstrations at absolutely no charge.
Besides blown glass, there are also creations in a variety of other media — painting, ceramics, copper, etc., as well as other forms of glass. The gallery holds work from more than 30 different artists.
Ocean Beaches Glassblowing & Gallery is located only in Seal Rock, OR, was started and is operated by Bob Meyer, the primary blown glass artist, and his wife Vicki, a fused glass artist.
History
Established in 2005.
Ocean Beaches Glassblowing & Gallery started in an old shed on the present property back in 2005 by Bob Meyer. Bob had just gotten into glassblowing a couple years before, and was looking for a way to expand this creative outlet.
It didn’t take long to outgrow the space available in the shed, so Bob and Vicki started planning a new building — one that would be closer to Highway 101 (the Pacific Coast Highway), and able to accommodate both the glassblowing studio with a viewing area as well as a sizable art gallery. The new building was completed in December of 2007.
Ocean Beaches Glassblowing & Gallery will be celebrating its 5-year anniversary this August!
