I LOVEICECREAM. have i mentioned that before? This place was awesome! They had Tillamook and Cascade Point(?) I’m not sure if that’s the correct name but it’s Cascade something brand. hahaha But I had previously this week devoured a carton of Tillamook so I thought I’d try a new local brand! I got a waffle cone with Hugs and Smooches ice cream. SOOOOOGOOD. and the boy behind the counter didn’t charge me the extra 75 cents for the waffle cone! CRUCIAL! yum.

One of the best ways to beat the heat is to get outta Dodge. This weekend was the perfect time for a trip to the Coast. And for my family, no trip to the beach is complete without ice cream. It was a surreal day. It was warm, but the fog was so thick you could hear the waves crash, but couldn’t see the ocean when you were on the beach. We had to locate each other by cell phone?!? I wouldn’t have been surprised if aliens landed. So after hours of hunting for little creatures(sand crabs, shrimp, sculpin) when the tide was out, playing football in the sand, reading cheesy novels and building sandcastles, it was time for our cool treat. We wandered into Chez Scoop since it was on the main drag and offered around 30 flavors of Tillamook and Cascade Creamery delights. They even had my favorite flavor, chocolate peanut butter. Happy day. This is really a take out place unless you count the plastic cow bench. At the end of the day, I usually ask my kids, what was your favorite part of the day? Doesn’t matter where we travel or what we do, they almost always talk about the ice cream. They are my kinda kids. :-)
