Worse place. Don’t eat here especially at night because you’ll be around undesirables. Workers are sloooooooooowwwww and won’t even bother walking up to the regist or acknowledge you when you walk through the door. The drive thru window is broken, there’s a hole in the ceiling and the place looks dirty.

DONOTEATHERE!!! They have very poor food safety habits. The guy cooking chicken wasn’t washing his hands and touching the walk in door handle and all the equipment. The manager was storing rice in a plastic bag to serve to customers! Really?! Salmonella heaven. Food is time temperature abused which can get you seriously sick.

The worse workers here by far. They are so lazy and slow, it’s unbelievable. Can not get anything right. Did drive thru and she had to repeat my order 5 times. And still didn’t get it right. This place is a joke. Unbelievable. Pulled up to the window and still had to repeat my order all over again. Wow!!! Really!!! They need to retrain these lazy ladies all over again. Seriously

The employees are pretty much retarded. Had to repeat the order 6 – 7 times. They had no Mac and cheese, and no okra. They had chicken but said we would have to wait 20 mins for it. Never coming back.

This place look seriously gross! The woman who took my order got super confused multiple times and I only order 2 items. It took about 10 minutes to get my food. I’m pretty sure they prepackaged the mash and gravy and then microwaved it then gave it to me(I heard the microwave). Also the bbq chicken I got was black and super rubbery. I’m hoping it was just over cooked. This was the first time I’ve ever been. For sure not going again!

Maybe it was a bad day, but it was clear that the staff here just may not know about some things. We sat at the drive-through mike waiting for someone to take our order. This was after waiting about ten minutes for one car to move through for us to get to the mike. After another five minutes of waiting for the speaker to come to life, I pulled forward to the window. Our order was taken and it took, and I am not kidding well over 10 minutes for our order to be completed. Twenty minutes were deducted from our lives waiting for okay food. The biscuits were good; the rest of the food was okay. We are not keen on going back. The staff was not impolite, just not well-supported.

I give this place 1 star because the food is absolutely delicious! However I will never eat here again, this place is a dump, its looks like its never been cleaned, workers are rude and are completely clueless ! You ask a question and its take all 3 workers to answer it! My daughter had to use the restroom it was also filthy and toilet is falling apart and feels like it is going to tip over! Floors, tables and chairs are all sticky and there were flies fly all around! Also I watched the guy open 2 bags of bloody chicken and spread them out in a mixing dish then he goes over to the cooked chicken in the fryers and begins to remove them! Then he picks up the flour scooper and scoop’s the flour, all while wearing the same bloody chicken gloves! He also used the tongs that are for the biscuits! After that the lady at the register uses the same tongs to get biscuit’s and jalapeño bomber! I’m not sure how they are able to stay open. Health department need to shut them down!

I used to love coming here growing up and now its awful. There is zero customer service, three employees standing around and no one really knows whats going on. They said their oven was broken so no biscuits but thwy didnt discount our meals even though they were supposed to come with them and in spanish I heard them say they were too busy to nake morw biscuits. They are so unorganized and rediculous. I will never come back which is sad because we drove 2.5hours for their food

This place used to be called«the best place to go for fried chicken» just a few years ago. I don’t know what happened to this place but recently I’ve gotten very low quality food when I went back. Oily, greasy blob of mess. Yuck.

Wow! Unbelievable service. The cashier was rude to the customer in front of me, then to me. I asked for mash potatoes with gravy and she gives me a large gravy only. Then, I asked for ranch dressing and she gives me one. I checked my order and she gave me no utensils with 20 pieces of chicken. Just bunch of lazy people working there.

Church’s Seaside defines greasy spoon but if you have a craving for really good fried chicken tenders and amazing honey biscuits then Church’s will definitely fill that desire. From the inside and outside the establishment looks like it should be condemned. It’s dirty, old, broken, basically a blight on the neighborhood. So why eat there? No one that we have tried on the Monterey Peninsula can match the fried chicken product that comes from their fryers. As mentioned in other reviews the drive through wait is epic but once you get the food it is too hot to eat right away. I like that! The honey biscuits areridiculous. I don’t want to know how much butter, grease and sugar it took to make it so good… I don’t care. Five stars for the chicken and biscuits, one star for the facility.

In all the decades I’ve lived on the Peninsula, I have never been here. Someone mentioned the chicken was awesome, so I thought I’d give it a go. It was a worknight, and the wait in the drive-thru line, was so slow that I found a way out and drove home– chickenless. I tried it, again, a week later. The wait was still long(about 10 minutes) with me second in line. I like white meat, so I paid extra for the chicken breast, with slaw and biscuits. The chicken was okay, but nothing earth shattering. The slaw was meh. The biscuits, okay(don’t really like biscuits so my husband ate them and said they were okay). Overall, not bad, but nothing«to die for». So far, my own recipe is better, but it takes more time in prep work and shallow deep frying. At least, I can say I’ve been there, done that. Next.

Good stuff! The only southern style fried chicken within 75 miles. Get wings — it includes part of the chicken breast. You gotta try the fried okra. Plus honey biscuits — yum!

I have been craving some good chicken wings all summer. Finally gave in tonight and stopped at Church’s Chicken in Seaside. Ordered the wings, coleslaw and fries. The fries were standard crinkle fries out of the freezer. Pretty bad. The coleslaw was o.k. but loaded with sugar. The wings weren’t really wings at all. They were these tiny deep fried winglets with half a chicken breast attached. Not really that good but not as bad as Kentucky Fried Chicken. If I want wings, I want decent size wings with some flavorful, crispy coating. Didn’t get that here. Plus what they called wings were $ 2:00 apiece… really? Sorry I went.

Craving some fried chicken on the way back from Big Sur. Asked the wife about Church’s chicked she never had and I only had once before. Gotta say this was good choice. Got the 9 piece mixed spicy and regular. Thought the chicken was great it even tasted good the next day since we had some left over. Way better than the greasy KFC. The Honey biscuts were also very tasty and warm. Sad we had ordered the baked mac & cheese and they didn’t have any, maybe next time. The jalapeño cheese poppers made up for it The mash patatoes were ok, maybe try something else next time. Overal not bad. Just read some reviews about the inside, didn’t go in hit the thru drive thru and ate in the parking lot. Will be back for sure next time I’m craving some fried chicken since I pretty much banned KFC grease.

Had a serious Jones for fried chicken last night. Wasn’t up for $ 30+ at 1833. Ended up at Church’s. Yep. Church’s. I couldn’t believe it either… Chicken rocked. Seriously. Breading was crispy, and chicken was cooked perfectly. Fried okra for a side was a nice touch. I may still be delusional from all the saturated fat I consumed, but IMO the chicken was much better than KFC. Service was fine. Very friendly. Taking it down a star because dining area is a little sketchy. Tables weren’t being cleaned. Bathroom was fine.

I’m lost for words on this place. I swung by after buying my Prius at Victory Toyota and was starving so I decided to hit up Church’s. Now to give you context, I’ve never been to a Church’s Chicken before and now I realized why. This place was totally run down(especially the bathroom, which look like one of those prison bathrooms from the 60’s), located in a questionable part of town, and the chicken was really over cooked. The only good thing was the fries and shrimp, they were cooked just right. I just don’t get how Church’s and KFC don’t know how to cook chicken, I thought they were suppose to be experts, lol. If you want good fried chicken, go to Popeye’s or Safeway, avoid this place unless you enjoy eating rocks!

Fried Chicken & Cole Slaw! Crunchy, crispy southern style deep fried chicken is the specialty at this fast food chain. Today was a cold, windy, blustery fall day and some hot spicy crunchy crispy southern fried chicken and slaw was on my to do list. The building is old, but clean. Staff is friendly. Prices are cheap. I usually do the take out drive thru, because they are open late hours. CASH or ATM(with a fee) only. I am a fan of KFC, too. This chicken is not nearly as greasy, yet still moist. Either will do, when the fried chicken desire hits you. Enjoy!
