Delicious with friendly service. If you like sushi then it’s worth trying if you’re in the area.

I love that they offered so many different options for Unagi. Our server explained the menu very well and made many recommendations for us. Great experience. The sushi rolls were absolute delicious and very filling. If it wasn’t so expensive I would eat here more often!

I came here for Mother’s Day last month. The décor is quaint and typical. The sushi was nicely prepared and had good flavors. The service was decent. What distracted me was the smell that most likely, was coming from a dirty old flat carpet they have as flooring. And the table was a bit sticky. Overall I feel perhaps they need to invest in getting better cleaning service for their restaurant. I think I would return if I hear that it’s cleaner and smells better in there.

Absolutely my favorite place to go when im craving sushi! i have nothing but good things to say about it! Im not a picky eater which means i can put away just about anything… but when the spicy roll has me moaning after every bite, thats got to mean something! I even ate SLOWER to truly savor its flavor before it was all gone. Fortunately i have this place in my backyard so am a regular! And to top it off, the owner and servers are all attentive, knowledgable, friendly, and will leave you with nothing short of 100% customer satisfaction! Keep up the good work

Wish I could give half stars. Not deserving of a 4, but also not a 3-star joint. Lots of rolls options on the menu. We ordered 5 of them and they all tasted pretty much the same. They were good, but not anything spectacular. Also got salmon nigiri. It didn’t taste the freshest, unfortunately. The miso soup was good. Over, not a bad place.

Great sushi place! Been going for years. It’s had only a couple of meh times and they were still darn good. Great service, great quality. A must go to place if in the mood for sushi and don’t want to break the bank.

Been here two different times. Got the bento box the first time and it is far from authentic Japanese food. The second time I just got sushi and it wasn’t too bad. But the waitress could’ve used an attitude adjustment. Not great by any means. I don’t plan on coming back for sub par food.

Honestly probably my favorite go-to for sushi in the area. Totally a locals spot unlike a few places by the wharf and in Carmel. Service is always super friendly. I’m sure this sounds odd but I actually don’t even eat seafood lol but I love coming here for veggie rolls such as the Yam Maki and the Garden Roll. Agedashi is always my go-to app I order and their salad dressing for the salad is BOMB!

This place is so unassuming from the outside but then again, so are a lot of places in sleepy Seaside. Despite being located in a strip mall, this sushi was definitely on par with the fresh sushi I’m used to down in LA. There’s a definite casual, comfy vibe to the restaurant which I can totally appreciate because let’s get real, you’re here for the food. The toro sashimi was delicious, fresh, and huge. Not a wimpy 1-biter like most sushi joints. The edamame was lackluster but then again, so is plain edamame wherever you go. We tried a few rolls whose names I don’t remember but they were all great. Get the tempura fried spicy tuna roll with avocado and basically any roll that combines spicy tuna and shrimp tempura. So so good! The customer service was great and they even accepted parties of people who walked in just a few minutes before closing. I will definitely be back here.

Just ate at Harumi after not eating here for a long time. We used to love it but were highly disappointed. The sushi tasted bland and the topper was that we got a baked roll and it had not one but two hairs on it. We noticed the hairs as soon as he put it down on our table. When we told the server he pulled out the hair and examined it. Then my husband pointed out the other hair he grabbed the roll, barely apologized and took it away and said they would bring another. It was poor customer service. Also my son ordered the three item dinner bento box and because he wanted chicken teriyaki and two gyoza instead of three different items it was $ 2.00 extra. Three items should be three items. Then we got our bill and were charged for everything — no discount and nothing was offered. At least a free soda would have been something. Now I know why Sushi Time down the road had a line out the door and Harumi had empty tables.

Oh Harumi, how we missed thee. My favorite sushi place 8 years ago and still going strong. There were only 3 must eat places on our list when we came back to Monterey and you were on the top. The appetizers are exactly in line with what you want edamame and goyza but I try to save all my room for the rolls. Also this is the only place I ever feel the need to grab a Plum Wine. We had the bamboo curtain and hot night(one of my favorites but I tend to like raw rolls a little more than the fried rolls out of principle, I like simple and spicy) then we also had the regulator, Grinch and the Carmel Valley. I think our tables favorite overall was the Carmel Valley. We have 4 of them ordered total. Its a very unique roll that balances the sweet and savory well. However, I think I preferred Grinch. I love the large piece of tuna and avocado on top to cut through the delicious richness of the fried soft shell crab. The waitress was fantastic accommodating a group that grew from 6 people with reservations to almost 12 people over an hour. She didn’t have a single issue with the check at the end despite us being total PIA about how it was split. Never once did we feel like we were a burden. I dream of having this Sushi when I am not in Monterey and can not wait till the next time we get to come back. Its hands down my favorite Sushi on the East or West Coast, including Hawaii.

I try to only have lunch here once a week but it’s hard! Everything I have ever ordered at Harumi is delicious! They open at 11 for lunch… perfect time! I love to order to go, if you like sushi then this is the best place to go. Good quality for your money, it is worth every penny! When I do happen to have the time to have lunch here I am always impressed with the courtesy and promptness of the staff. I have never felt ignored, the people are genuinely nice and The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting! Sit by the window if you eat here on nice days the sun shines in and it’s truly a wonderful place to have lunch. Lunch menu prices are perfect! I highly recommend this place I say hands down the best sushi place in all of Monterey/Seaside area combined!

You wouldn’t think much of this place from the outside, it’s located in a very plain and somewhat bland shopping plaza that has 7-Eleven and Little Caesars. But once you step inside you’re met by a very bright and modern atmosphere. They have consistently good food and service. The sushi/sashimi is fresh and presentation is always nice. Definitely one of my go to sushi places.

There are arguably 2 main sushi spots in the Monterey area, Crystal Fish and Harumi’s. I’ve been to both and keep coming back to Harumi’s. I life everything more about Harumi’s. Parking is better, you have more room around your table to enjoy with out bumping elbows. The rolls are pretty equal in my opinion but your going to have a much larger bill at the end of the night. I enjoy raw rolls and my favorite is Megan’s roll, The cilantro puts it over the top. The Miso soup is very good also, almost as good as mine:)

Every time I eat here there service and food is nothing but exceptional! Today is my dads birthday and he LOVES sushi! There is no other place I would take him and the rest of the family to than Harumi! Our food was brought out at a reasonable time and the waitress and host checked up on us within a reasonable time frame! Sometimes waitresses/waiters check up on us too frequently where I cannot have a conversation with those I came to have dinner with or not enough, never a middle ground. So I appreciate the staff at Harumis! The fish… FRESH. The salmon sashimi… TODIEFOR. Everything was and always is DELICIOUS!

Decided to take my granny out for lunch at Harumi The takoyaki(octopus balls) looked good but lacked substance in flavor combined with overcooked octopus made it a let down Tofu Agdashi was simply bad-it was coated in this strange slimy mesh that wasn’t properly fried, tofu was bland and lacked a silky quality Tonkatsu Ramen-portion was great, broth was creamy with a decent depth of richness, pork was delightful(I would order this again) For granny, I ordered the bento box(teriyaki chicken, tempura, and gyoza)-no complaints, a solid array of food at a decent price Overall Thoughts Avoid the appetizers and stick with the ramen/bento boxes
