River Inn at Seaside

This place is a great spot, central location & very nice!!! Pet friendly, very clean! Love the set up of the room & the balcony river side is the way to go. We will be coming back for sure.

It’s hard to pick just one thing about this hotel that I love. Everything was complimentary. We got discounts at various restaurants for just staying at this hotel. They have stuff to keep you busy all day. You can hang out in the game room or go exercise at 9am and the pool opens by 10 and stays open til 10pm. It’s extremely clean and warm. Free breakfast and movies that you can grab without filling out paper work. Even the vending machines are reasonable. They will start a fire pit at 5pm to go sit by with drinks if weather permits. The rooms are gorgeous and everything is included. We walked in and got a free room upgrade from Loralie (sp?). And let’s top off the entire perfect stay with the staff being the friendliest I’ve ever met and all of this comes from a housekeeper from another hotel.

Nice enough rooms and good location, but I’m not all that pleased with the front desk. My family stayed in a top floor suite facing the river. Outside and below our balcony is a toddler play area with a teeter totter, which is normally just fine. But on this stay, two ¹²⁄₁₃ year old girls played continuously on the teeter totter in rough-​housing ways it was not intended (standing up, no hands, try to catapult the other, etc.). This came with constant blood-​curdling screams and incredibly loud high-​pitch shrieks, all of which could be heard through closed windows and over a television. I figured the girls didn’t realize how loud they were, so I called down to the girls from my balcony and asked them nicely if they could please not scream so loudly. They looked at me with disgust as only ¹²⁄₁₃ year old girls can do, and immediately ran inside and «complained» to the front desk that a «mean man yelled at them.» Then the girls went right back outside and continued screaming, only this time even louder and more intentional. I telephoned the front desk but they refused to do anything. In fact, they had the nerve to accuse me of «yelling at the girls,» which I did not do (they believed the ¹²⁄₁₃ year old girls over me). The shrieks and screaming kept going, so we recorded it and played it for the front desk. Incredibly, they acted like we were making the whole thing up and were rude and dismissive. The two little brats continued to disrupt our stay without intervention (parents?). I’ve stayed at this hotel in the past and we have had a decent stay, so I am still giving them three stars. I will say though that on this particular stay I felt very disrespected by the staff.

This place was very nice. It was well maintained and clean. Very close distance to beach and restaurants so we didn’t have to drive anywhere. Staff was incredible friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was very good as well. I would want to stay here again if I pass through Seaside again.

It’s interesting to read others’ reviews of this hotel. One (minor or correctable) mistake can kill the overall experience. When I read these 1-​star reviews I don’t put much merit in them; they seem like they are trying to «get back» at the hotel and right their perceived wrong.
For me, the bed is at least 50% of any hotel review. It is after all probably where you spend a majority of your time. The bed we had was a newer king pillow-​top bed that was at or near the quality I usually find at a good Marriott. VERY COMFORTABLE. I know this is very subjective but the neither the edges of the bed nor the middle of the bad «sagged» at all.
The place was clean, everything worked and the night staff in particular seemed genuinely interested in our wellbeing. Smaller (30″??) flat screen TV, Blu-​Ray player (titles in the lobby) microwave, coffee maker, and fridge with separate freezer. That’s right, an actual freezer that should keep ice cream solid — though I didn’t try it out. The Wi-​Fi is simple but rather slow. No log-​in or password. Just connect to an open wireless router and off you go. (Make sure your local computer security is adequate!)
Salt water indoor pool and hot tub conveniently located just off the lobby with pool towels easily available just outside the pool area. While I did not swim (yet) I saw several families with younger (under 10) children having a lot of fun in the pool.
I usually stay a Courtyard when possible and that is my standard for above average accommodations. *IF* the River Inn would put a little more effort into their breakfast buffet (add hot eggs and breakfast meat) I’d rate them on par with Marriott Courtyard. The breakfast buffet is why they only received 4-​stars instead of 5.

Beautiful inn, very cozy and clean rooms. I absolutely love the fact that for a small fee you can bring your dogs. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, the checking in process was quick, and it’s a very short walk up to the beach. The only thing I wasn’t very happy with was the shower water temperature in our room went slightly above luke warm and then got cold about 5 minutes into it, I didn’t shower until late so at that point it was too late to call the front desk to say something, I was already freezing from being at the beach so topping it off with a cold shower was slightly irritating… and at about 630 when the sun came up, the way the curtains in the room are hung it made the whole room light it. besides that it was a pleasant stay

Nice location: on the river, walking to shops, restaurants and beach.
Rooms are very clean and nicely appointed for this level of accommodation. TV, DVD, microwave, fridge, Keurig coffeemaker. Comfy beds.
Complimentary breakfast is typical, but satisfactory. They have a very nice lobby and, especially the outdoor patio with fire burning. Lots of free movies, even complimentary bicycle use!
WiFi and the alarm clock charges your device! Nice surprise.
Best of all: the service was excellent! We stayed using an auction package we bought and they treated us like we were great customers. Friendly, helpful staff wanted to make sure we took advantage of all they offered. We would definitely stay here again.

They think of everything here and we loved it. Playground, fire pit, free breakfast, keurigs in room, salt water taffy. Everyone was friendly and the entire place was spotless. My only complaint would be that the beds are too comfy… We didn’t want to leave! So nice. Thank you! (Oh, and we booked through groupon)

So many amenities! Gorgeous rooms with fridge, microwave, keurig, and even a yoga mat! They have hundreds of DVDs to rent. There’s also a pool, hot tub, and fitness room here. The continental breakfast includes waffles, muffins, cereals, breads, bagels, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, juice, coffee and tea. The hotel is in short walking distance from the promenade with shops and restaurants.

Stayed at this pet friendly establishment for a night with my visiting family. We got two queen beds attached to a living room/​kitchen area separated by a door adjoining the rooms. Clean rooms, modern, clean furniture with a kick ass balcony that over looked the river and bridge. They have Kurereg’s, fridge, large flatscreen tv with free blue ray and dvd’s from the lobby. The large queen beds were comfortable however the pullout was about as thin as a folder. Large room A/​c kept us cool. They offer free breakfast in the mornings a salt water pool and a hot tub. All in all it was a very enjoyable stay. Playground in back for the kiddos and a super small pet area to walk them for potty breaks. The staff was professional and full of local info. Would we stay here again? Yes, most definitely. So why the 4 stars and not 5? The only bathroom for our two rooms is located right where my parents were sleeping. Once the door was closed to the adjoining rooms it could only be opened from their side thus you can’t use the restroom without disturbing those in bed. This problem was found at about 4:15am when I got up to use the restroom but couldn’t. Knocking on their door this early would’ve also awoken other guests. This made for a very uncomfortable three and a half hours.

Manzanita is usually my go to when I head out to the coast but I had a chance to meet some friends that were in Seaside for the weekend and booked at River Inn. I didn’t have high expectations but I was pretty blown away at the River Inn. I booked through a third party app and got a pretty stellar deal, about $ 50 less than the advertised price of RI and cheaper than the other hotels/​motels I saw in Seaside. The smoking deal I got was good but the level of customer service, quality and cleanliness of the room really sealed the deal. Check in was a breeze and the guys at the front desk wrote down a few restaurants and bars to check out. They really went above a beyond to make sure that my stay was a pleasant one. My room faced the river and had a great balcony to sit out on. There was AC in the room which was a major plus with the hot, muggy summer we have been having. The room was clean, equipped with a microwave and mini fridge. The beds were comfortable and the location was perfect. It’s a couple of blocks away from the beach and restaurants and the parking was painless. There is a fire pit that overlooks the river, The hotel is also pet friendly which is great if you have a little fur baby! I’ll definitely book here on my next trip to Seaside.

What a wonderful way to end up our honeymoon road trip. We were treated so well by the staff here, had an absolutely lovely riverview room with a balcony, and were able to really relax and enjoy ourselves. The bed was comfy, the room was immaculate, the continental breakfast was a bonus. In room Keurig is a nice touch too. The hotel is new-ish…in the last year or two I’m thinking? It is just lovely.
We’ve stayed at places wayyyy more run down in Seaside that were almost the same price. We’ve also stayed in more expensive hotels there too, that were not updated and frankly not worth the price tag. This is just right and we look forward to future stays here!

Friendly staff, very clean, nice size rooms, great location. Ask for a riverside room. Price is just right, my wife and I slept in a king bed with a couch sleeper next to bed, but we put our three kids in the suite conjoined to our room, they had another couch sleeper and we just took the mattress off the couch sleeper in our room and one of our kids slept on that on the floor in their room, that way the wife and I had our room all to ourselves, you know what I’m saying!
Great place to stay don’t listen to the negative reviews, you won’t be disappointed.

New, clean and sort of friendly staff…
However. I was purposely charged twice at checkout because the young kid running the front desk thought «the amount looked wrong»?..
Also the morning before checking out I ran down to my car to grab something only to come back to my room with the cleaning crew throwing all of my personal clothes, food and toiletries away… Was told the house cleaner was new and didn’t understand English. Overall I am disgusted with my stay.

Wow so disappointing! Don’t let the reviews fool you. Upon arrival we were greeted by an enormous splatter of throw-​up. I was unable to walk up to the check in desk because it was blocking the way. I totally understand that stuff like that happens, but its how the establishment handles it that makes the difference and this was just pathetic.
We stood there waiting for about ten minutes in front of the vomit while the front desk finished what he was doing to clean it up. He got out a mop and bucket and literally just pushed it around. A mop and bucket is not going to soak up vomitous chunks. I could still see all the chunks pushed around the dining tables. So after he had finished pushing the chunks around he came back to check me in WITHOUT WASHING HIS HANDS. So he had to handle my credit card and ID, I was so upset. What’s worse is that the «dining room», is in the lobby so it was right next to where we were to eat breakfast.
Every time we walked by the lobby we encountered chunks and the smell of vomit. We checked in at around 6:30 pm ⁴⁄₂₅. I was really starting to feel sick because I couldn’t shake the thought of having to walk by the situation again. At 8:00 pm I braved the chunks and pleaded for a refund to get the hell out of there. The same weak puke cleaner told me that at 8:00 pm at night there is just no way he could issue me any sort of refund. First of all you can always issue a refund. And secondly we had only been there for about an hour and a half. He could have at least offered me a credit or ANYTHING. It really was not the best way to handle the situation. He was unapologetic and unwilling to compromise with my nauseous self.
So we were stuck in the chunks. We thought about just booking it but at $ 146 a night we didn’t really want to spend anymore money. We were totally wary about using the rest of the facility who knows what could be lurking around.
Needless to say it really ruined our experience of Seaside and my boyfriend’s birthday. The actual room was fine. But we wont be back.

We’ve been coming to the beach for years. This place is the best! It’s new and clean. It’s the small stuff that matters. Salt water pool. A game room with table tennis, foosball & tv. A great library of grab-​and-​go DVDs. No need to check out. A nice fire pit and kids play area outside. A cosy couch, fireplace and game shelf inside. Hand pumps for shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand soap & lotion. Why are hotels still using small bottles and bars? It just makes sense. This is the only place worth staying at Seaside with your family.

Fantastic service and a friendly staff. We booked it via living social and it absolutely exceeded our expectations. The room was spacious and equipped with everything one would hope to see at a hotel. The kuerig with complimentary k cups was a great touch. Excellent bargain and most definitely would stay here again.

I’ve stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions this summer — one was in a double queen room with a view and the other was a king room with a view. I booked both rooms at a discounted rate through Groupon and it was well worth the money!
I highly recommend this hotel because it’s small, cozy, and has very friendly staff. The hotel is super clean because it was recently remodeled. When I came the first time, their patio had some lawn chairs and tables. The second time back, they added a children’s playground and a fire pit. The hotel overlooks the river which is not that cool but still it’s a view. You can watch people paddle boating down the river from your room. If you choose a room with a view that means it will overlook the river.
In the morning there is complimentary breakfast with waffles, fruit, bagels, muffins, and cereal. It’s not a bad breakfast and the common area is super cute! At night you can relax in the pool/​hot tub, then grab a free dvd downstairs by the front desk to watch. They don’t really keep track of the DVDs so we took 3 – 4 up to our room to choose from. Pretty good mix of movies and many new movies as well!
We didn’t spend most of our time in the hotel/​room besides in the morning and night but our stay was fabulous. My family loved the hotel and we will definitely book here again for our next beach excursion!
