Established in 1999 The 1st Turtle Bay Taqueria in Seaside was established in October of 1997 as the little sister to Fishwife, it’s menu offered a «South American extension of the Fishwife’s menu», focusing on the coastal regions of Mexico.
Business was blooming for the Turtle Bay Taqueria in Seaside, and so an additional and much larger restaurant, the Turtle Bay Taqueria was added here in Monterey.
To serve the guests quickly it was decided to run the operation, under the «Fast Casual» category of restaurant protocol, ordering your initial order at the counter and being served by the warm and friendly staff, and always served with a smile!

In 1985 Jefferson Seay, Julio and Marie Ramirez opened the Fishwife Restaurant on the off-beaten path in Seaside Ca.
The Fishwife became instantly successful and a second and larger location was opened in Pacific Grove was opened in 1986.

In 1997 in a vacant building next to the Fishwife in Seaside, The Turtle Bay Taqueria was born. With instant success like it’s big sister, The Fishwife, the Turtle Bay Taqueria opened a second location in Monterey, all under the Chef’s Pride Inc.
In 2006, two of the original founders, Julio and Marie Ramirez (now «Food Wranglers») retired. Jefferson took the helm and is now sole proprietor of the Fishwife Restaurants and Turtle Bay Taqueria’s.
