Jim’s Detail Established in 1978 specializes in getting your vehicle looking its best, with our satisfaction gauranteed attitude you’ll know that our service will meet or beat your expectations. We perform all aspects of 21st century auto detailing and cleaning. We use sanitizing ozone machines and bio active sanitizing soaps that can get your car truly clean. All our vehicle exterior detailing procedures include a proffesional clay bar process at no extra charge. Our window tinting is affordably priced and installed same day and comes with our lifetime warranty. Our tint is installed like the factory would have done it, at a shade of your choosing.

History

Established in 1978.

Established in 1978 When we first started there were very few professional detail centers that were not connected to a dealership or auto auction. Jim’s Detail was a forerunner of what would become a fairly common industry Professional Auto Detailing. In 1993 Jim sold the company to one of his best managers who then grew the business into three locations over the next 14 years and sales revenues over 1 million dollars. We have since consolidated our business back to a two location operation to weather the current economic downturn. Looking forward we have survived many economic downturns and have managed to keep our doors open we credit our great employees and customers for helping us maintain one of the best places around to get your vehicles cleaned up or looking sharp in the South Sound.

In the Detail business since 1988, very active in the local community sponsoring local clubs and charity organizations raffle’s and auctions. I love this business, my customers are the best, everyday is another opportunity to meet more great folks who are looking for a place to maintain their investments. I’m also a professional driving instructor and SCCA National Champion. I work part time for the Evolution Performance Driving schools. You can watch me on Speedchannel’s show called «Setup» season one and two (currently in re-​runs on Hulu). I love everything automotive and truly enjoy making my customers look sharp.

This review is for a detail that I had done in August 2015. I waited so long because I wanted to leave an honest, but not angry review and it’s taken me awhile to think about how I wanted to phrase it.
My partner gifted me with an exterior/​interior detail for my birthday which I was very happy about. I’m a bit of a neat freak and having a spanking clean car makes me extremely happy.
I dropped my car off in the morning when they opened and was told it would be ready that afternoon around 4:30. No problem. My partner dropped me off, paid, and headed home. I sat and waited for another 45 to 60 minutes for the car to be finished. The young man working the counter apoligized repeatedly and told me they were short staffed. I understand. When my car was ready to go the upholestry was still wet. They bagged the drivers seat and told me to crack my windows overnight and in the morning it would be fine. The next morning, my seats were too wet to to sit on and I had to walk to work. NOT HAPPY to have to do that on a hot August morning. I also noticed the following day that areas of my interior were neglected, the seat belts and seat belt connectors were not cleaned and neither was the sunglass holder next to the rearview mirror. I contacted the manager through Unilocal and let him now. He told me he was sorry and would figure out some way to compensate me for my troubles. Never heard from him after that.
They had my car all day and it wasn’t throughly cleaned nor was the upholestry dry. If they needed extra time, I could have left my car there until the next afternoon. That would have been preferable to getting a car back that wasn’t finished.

Picked up my car, they said it would be late as it wasn’t done, no worries, I know how to hustle home an cook a quick dinner. Was still wet inside, no problem, parked it in car port with my heat on. Bill was allot more than last time I had it detailed, still tipped good, cause I know it’s hard work.
Next day noticed a lovely dent, ??? Then following week, took it to body shop, they said someone dropped something on it… hmmmmm NOT taken my business there no more.

This place is awesome! I have been here twice to get my car detailed on the inside and out, and each time has been a great experience. I live in west Seattle and this place is super easy to get to, easy to park, the guys are very professional and helpful, and my car always looks spotless afterwards. I will definitely be back again!

Brought my husband’s Kia in today and let’s just say (and he’ll agree) he’s the messy one in our marriage, especially when it comes to his car.
Let’s just say we were both blown away by the level of detail and cleanliness of the vehicle when we picked it up. He bought the car gently used several years ago (for a commuter car) and when he looked at it, he said, «It looks better than when I bought it.»
Staff was very friendly and we look forward to bringing my car to Jim’s next month.
Thanks to the wonderful staff for their attention to my husband’s vehicle; we both understand it’s not one of the fancier cars you’ve detailed, but you treated us as if it was — continued success and definitely we’ll recommend to our friends and acquaintances in the greater Seattle area.

Jim’s is the definition of 5-​star service: seriously gorgeous detail (I got the Diamond exterior for my 2-​year old Liberty, and it looks brand new again!!), professional service, and customer friendly. There were a handful of cars when I arrived for my appointment; I was in awe of the great teamwork to clean all the cars on time (a couple of guys drove up from their other location to handle the volume of cars. Seriously, who does that anymore these days?!?) I’d been searching for a good detail shop to trust with my car. I saw a Groupon, but called first to hear how they approach details. Jim’s totally gets it, so I bought the Groupon and drove my car 15 miles for its 1st detail. Car looks a-​maz-​ing!!!

Took our Mazda CX-​5 to the guys at Jim’s with a Groupon we’d received as a gift.
The car looks amazing! It’s so clean on the outside & inside, it’s like the day we drove it off the lot brand new.

I practically live out of my car for work and had neglected to clean the interior for a straight two years. It was disgusting. I came in on the Groupon and was a little nervous, not knowing what to expect. I need not have worried. Matt took care of me and was super professional and friendly. When I was thrilled with the results and tried to tip him (I tried to force him to accept a check), he very graciously declined. I’m glad to know these guys are only a ten minute drive from my house. Wow. I took our beat-​up 1999 Ford Explorer in expecting to have it cleaned up and make it a little less beat-​up. When I picked it up, it was like a new car, inside and out. Unbelievable! I wish I could post before and after pictures, because the difference is stark. My old Ford actually glistens now. Their customer service is excellent. Everything happened exactly as they said. I’m happy beyond words.

I bought a Groupon deal for a much needed detailing of my poor SUV (large vehicle deal). The Sea-​Tac location is so easy to find at the South end of the 509, take the Des Moines Memorial Pkwy exit, or Normandy Park Exit and make a left at the light.
Professional, friendly, hard working, and helpful staff took care of my vehicle.
With the Groupon deal you get a choice of EITHER package: Detail of the interior with a very good simple exterior wash, dry, and tire/​wheel dressing. OR Detail of the exterior with a hand wash, dry, wax and buff shine, with a very good simple interior vacuum and glass cleaning.
I chose the interior detailing and was very impressed and satisfied with the entire vehicle, including the clean, shining wheels and tires!!! Wow! Great Job! I will be back and tell my friends and family about Jim’s Detail Shop Sea-​Tac location! Thank you gentlemen!

I also purchased a Amazon local voucher. It was a great deal for me. My car had a lot of water stains on the upholstery and dirt in the carpets. I was able to get a nice hand wash on the exterior and a complete cleaning on the interior. When I sat back down in my car after they finished, it felt like a new car again.
I had no difficulties getting an appointment in. I will definitely go there again.

I purchased two vouchers on Living Social to give these guys a try. I took my wife’s car (a Nissan Altima) and my car (a Mini Cooper). They did an excellent job. Not only did they give the exterior a good wash, but they deep cleaned the interiors including shampooing the carpets and using an air compressor to blow out the crevices inside the car and wipe down all surfaces. My car has all black interior and was covered in white dog hair. I paid $ 25 extra to remove all the dog hair and they made it look like a brand new car.
The staff was very professional and courteous. I definitely recommend Jim’s auto detail shop for a reasonably priced solution to make your car feel brand new again.
If you commute any distance at all, you want your car to be enjoyable and feel good about all the time you spend in it. It really changed the way I feel about my commute and I’m sure it will for you too.

Recently returned using an Amazon Local promotion and the guys at Jim’s did an amazing job. I had an older car on the prior visit and can tell you from seeing their work on my cars and others — no matter what condition your car is in, they will make it look like new. They are reasonable$, professional, and in my experience, very quick. Great job!

They work magic here. When we got our 2004 Honda Accord from my dad it was filthy and gross. I didn’t like being in the car for fear of catching something or ?? We brought it in, they did their magic and I picked up a brand new car. It looked brand new.
The employees are fantastic! I wasn’t made to feel weird using Groupon which was nice. We will be back with our other cars.

I have taken all of my vehicle’s to Jim’s auto detail since Connor started working there waaaaay back when. Always great customer service, always a good price, and I always get my car back in tip top shape.
Highly recommend them for maintaining the value of the exterior/​interior of you vehicle. They know what they are doing.
