24 Hour Fitness

If i could i would give no stars to this company. I work during the day so i can only go in the mornings and nights. Everytime i am there i witness at least 2 homeless people give different excuses on why they need to come in side. After 40 minutes you can expect them to be sleeping in here. The other night a man argued with the worker then started throwing up gang signs. With all the shootings that are going on in the world id rather not have to worry about that when I’m working out. I was guaranteed quality professional and safe service. This place is not a safe environment. I have had my membership for 5 days and when i asked for a refund because the place isnt safe they told me i had only 3 days to decide that. If you want to worry about getting shot or trying to run through the escape route which is right next to the main entrance the by all means take your chances. I guess im just out 190 dollars for nothing.

I joined this 24 hour fitness to rehab a broken ankle on a stationary bike until I could get back on my normal jogging schedule. They made me pay for first and last month up front and when I wanted to cancel membership refused to refund my money for the extra month I paid for. Also was extremely difficult to cancel, I waited 15 minutes for a manager so he could pressure me into staying a member. Don’t join unless you never want to leave.

the sales person laughes at your face when you are asking too many questions. The guy claimed he is assistant manager (also claimed he was LA fitness manager lol) was too rude. When I compared this location to another club, he simply said Just go work out at another club dude, you don’t have to go here, wow. I was about to go on the deal but his nice attitude stopped me. Probably this is how they want to treat their customers.

Never super crowded but still pretty dated. It’s 2016 and this gym is still not equipped with WiFi and the water from the water fountains taste funny. Unfortunately, this is the closest gym to my new apartment.
I used to to work out at the Yesler Community Center and the International District Community Center and both had wifi, newer machines, and cost half the price of what I’m paying now. Even the nail salon next door to this 24 Hour Fitness has wifi.
Please just add wifi and some new filtered water systems.

Personal trainers are excellent, Brieann is the best personal trainer & Zumba & cycle instructor!!! Love her! Chase is the club manager & very friendly & helpful! Jamarr is the personal trainer manager & very engaged & excited to help.

I love the staff here, always friendly and asking me about my day. I’ve been coming here for 3 years and they constantly update their machines. It’s nice how they got new things to workout with. Just wish they had more ab stuff.
Also the weights seem pretty old and rusty in the back room. I’d suggest cleaning the studio floors more often because they are pretty filthy every time I come in.

So I’m a returning member and heeeeeeeeeeeeeey this place got new gym equipment awesome. And the guy said there about to paint it so it doesn’t look old anymore lol. A gym is a gym has everything you need. I’ll update later to see if Its improved anymore. It’s the only some what affordable gym near my house so I’ll take it.

Service sucks, one of the staffs didn’t explain about the contract for the membership, and now I want to cancel my membership, they said I have to pay my remaining balance in order to cancel it.

I do admit I was skeptical about working out at this 24 hour fitness after reading the reviews but I didn’t think it was as bad as all the negative reviews made it out to be. Maybe I just have low expectations for most 24-​hour fitness gyms? First, I was impressed at how much equipment they fit in that space; second it was pretty clean and everyone was conscientious to spray down the benches and machines after they used them. I didn’t have to wait for any of the squat racks or benches and found all the dumbells I needed since people actually put their weights back when they are done. There was a nice community vibe going. Kinda like a Barber Shop… Yes, there were a lot of older folks but props to them for staying in shape! Plus it just means less douchey meat heads…

Used to come here when it was a run down strip mall so I was amazed at how nice this area has become. The gym hasn’t changed and is just okay. Place could use a remodel and newer equipment. Also hard to park nearby.

If you are looking for something super fancy, this is not the gym for you. However, if you’re looking for a good, solid neighborhood gym where you don’t have to routinely wait for cardio equipment, this 24 Hour fitness is right up your alley.
Good things– lots of popular cardio equipment. I have never had to wait for the machine I wanted. They also have a good diversity of weight machines. The space isn’t as big and open as other areas, but they use it well, and there are lots of choices. I can’t speak for the gentlemen, but the ladies’ locker room has always been clean. There is also a water fountain in the building that is the coldest water fountain from which I have ever taken a sip. It’s near the weight machines. I have also found their staff friendly and helpful.
Missing a star things– I always clean off my machines before and after I use them (as one should do) because I have never once seen an employee wiping down or cleaning machine. Maybe I have missed them each time they do it, but the vast majority of people working out do not wipe down anything.
I’m very satisfied using this gym, and I’ll happily continue to go. Definitely worth the money I pay.

This particular «active» club has the lowest quality machines which are frequently broken or do not work properly which is a problem when I try to run intervals. The only thing it has going for it is location. The locker room is dirty and frequently toilets don’t work. I only come here when the weather is too cold to run outside. I’ve been a member 3 years. Finally we now have more gym options in West Seattle. Can’t wait for my membership to expire!

Not clean but the real problem is the crowd in this one. Lots of people strutting around. I only worked out there once and I saw a bad argument that looked like it might turn out to be a fight. Looks like the crowd is from Burien which is a slum close by. Also very crowded in the afternoon. I imagine a lot of the members here don’t work. It is in strip mall if you need that.

It’s an okay gym with dated weights and a heavy elderly population. Everyone seems nice and friendly, even the staff. I’d probably come here more often if I lived closer. Much less douchey than the downtown 24.

This gym is pretty cool. I only gave it 3 stars because they need to teach their staff how to properly answer the phone.
I once called and an employee named Josh answered, then he put me on hold except he forgot to push hold. I could hear him finishing up a conversation. After waiting for him to be done, he asks, «who is this» and says, «hold on» and continues his conversation!!!
Other than that I like this gym

I was a member for a couple years but decided a few months ago I really couldn’t do it anymore. This place was so convenient for me because I lived like 2 minutes away but wow the condition of this gym is just terrible, it didn’t motivate me to come at all. Def the worst 24 I have ever been to. Everything is just super worn out and grimey. Not to mention, there is an undeniable stench that radiates throughout the whole gym. Smells like bleach and BO or something, I really couldn’t stand it any longer. This gym really needs an upgrade.
The staff also didn’t seem like they cared too much. There was an instance where the strip mall had to shut off their water for whatever reason, the next day left the water from the fountains in the gym looking murky/​cloudy. There was NO sign next to the fountain warning guests about this issue. However, there was a sign on the front door. But really? So I told a staff member that they should put a sign there and she goes, «It’s probably okay to drink. But I’ll put a sign there.» I don’t know about yall but there is no way in hell that murky water is «okay to drink». She also did not care enough to put up a warning sign by the fountain.
Anyway, I’m glad I’m outta there and glad I pay $ 5/​mo more for a way better gym lol.

As far as 24 hours go, this gym is average at best. I love the staff and the kid center. But I agree with other reviews that the gym needs some updating, and it seems the money doesn’t want to spent there. It is an active gym in a convenient location and a good amount of classes if that’s your thing. It doesn’t have the newest machines or equipment, but I can always get a good workout done. I also appreciate the Costco membership deal which averages out to $ 14 a month. Can’t beat that!

For me, it is a comfortable place to work out and the staff is so friendly, I feel welcomed and encouraged. Yeah, it is in need of repairs and needs a complete revamp, but it is close by, always open, and full of friendly people. It’s also right next to an awesome shopping center, so I can run errands right there, including new shoes from Payless, clothes for work from Ross, office supplies, a new hair cut/​pedicure, pet food from the pet shop, books from Barnes, and some makeup from Sally beauty.
The fact that I can plug my headphones in and watch judge Judy on channel 2 makes my workout entertaining and I could care less that I’m in front of windows working out. I don’t care what strangers think of my body, I’m working out for an upcoming vacation and want to look great and feel good!
TL;DR
The staff makes this place what it is. :)

This place was OK for a gym thats average size and located in a strip mall. They have the basics. Minus one star for the low ceilings, and minus another for the staff that really take over a whole quadrant of space when they’re training someone. Is it not bad enough some douche bags do that on their own, but now a trainer is going to have someone curling an Olympic bench bar with no plates on it in a doorway connecting two major areas in a gym? I remember a ginger haired girl doing this once and some dude on another day. Also, there was a day where i went to get a drink and waited an eternity to pay for it because the staff was busy trying to socialize with a member.
A token star for the cute scenery, and by cuties, I mean pathetic Seattle standards.

Many thoughts come to ones head when they think of a gym; cardio bunnies on machines, dude bro’s in the free weights, and a few elderly men and teenagers sprinkled throughout the rest of the gym. Well guess what, that’s exactly what you get over here. The free weights are not bad, though I am appalled at the fact that there are two smith machines and only one power cage and one squat rack. It does have the plus side of being open 24 hours, which is about one of the only redeeming qualities of the gym. The sauna is not bad, but it is made out of wood, and as you know, wood is porous so every one else’s sweat is soaked into it as well. All in all, it’s a gym. Enough said. You don’t go to a gym for cleanliness, but this gyms sanitation level could be improved. I go here because I need a gym. If you need to as well, you might as well.
