4 Your Eyes Only Optical

This boutique is my absolute go-​to for frames! I’ve purchased two pair from there to date. Ask for Barbra. She is the master at selecting the right frames for your face. I am CONSTANTLY complemented frames she picked out for me.
On my second visit nearly a year later, she remembered me as soon as I walked in the door. Within minutes of chatting she had selected a few new options that were just prefect for me. The only part that makes me sad is that I now live in Minnesota so it will have to be a special trip the next time I need new frames.

Looked at the web site offered and see nothing unusual. I’m looking for frames that are techno, unique shapes, one side square and the other round. Get my drift?
Guess I will need to head for Europe.

It’s been about 4 years since I bought new frames. I’m a pretty frugal person, so I always tried to stay within the amount of my insurance ($ 150). I’ve been buying cheap frames that were nice, but I wasn’t excited to wear them and even avoided wearing at times because it was uncomfortable. My husband saw this store inside Wallingford Center and loved all the frames. When we went, they actually moved locations across the street. Street parking was free and easy to find.
Vicki helped me out and picked out some really nice frames that I would’ve never picked out on my own. I have an Asian nose that lacks a bridge, and I told her I didn’t want a frame with eye pads. She handed me a few cat eye frames, square and round frames. Vicki looked carefully at where the frame sat on my face and if it was rubbing on my eye lashes. I ended up buying a cat eye frame that was definitely above what I’ve spent on frames in the past. However, these were worth it and for someone that hasn’t bought frames in over 4 years and wanted something more
modern, these were perfect for me! I’m actually really excited to pick these up next week and can’t wait to wear them. Vicki was so helpful and funny and wasn’t afraid to tell you if the frames didn’t work for your face. My husband will be getting his eyes checked so he can bring in his prescription and get some new frames here.

Went in after reading in Seattle Magazine that this store was the best optical shop in the area. AND IT IS! Barbara spent one hour with me picking out frames and discussing how each looked. I wanted something cool and different, and we found the perfect colors and fit. Had a fun experience because Barbara is knowledgeable, creative, helpful and funny!

I recently visited in search of new frames that would stand out in comparison to my standard black frames.
After wandering aimlessly for only a few minutes, Barbara came over and helped me to find frames that fit my face perfectly, and matched the colors and style I was looking for.
I’ve gotten more compliments on my new frames than any other glasses I’ve owned. I’ll definitely see Barbara again the next time I need a new pair of glasses.

The ladies of 4 Your Eyes Only Optical are great. I have purchased two pairs of glasses here over a few years. Service and recommendations are always top notch. Recently, I brought back a pair of 2YRO glasses for some maintenance, they informed me that I had two weeks left on my warranty and I could get my scratched lenses replaced — #win. I had a tight travel window and they got it done for me in a few days. Really fantastic. Love these guys.

I went to the boutique with my boyfriend because he wanted some new frames and heard from his friends that this place is awesome. I had a pair of pure titanium frames that I got 2 years ago, but I have never really been a fan of glasses cos they are just a burden on my nose and leave marks so easily on my tender skin, so more often than not, I wear them only at home or when I get tired of wearing contacts. But since he was there anyways, and my prescription is about to expire and my next eye exam won’t be covered by insurance till another full year later, I started to try on some frames. A lady named Vicky helped me and educated me on what kind of frames would work for my facial bone structure. I picked some purely for their color and style but they don’t have nose pads, which she said typically wouldn’t work for me because of my low nose bone (I’m Asian). Good to know. Then she proceeded to pick a few pairs for me to try on and guided me to learn more about proper sizes of glasses for me. I expressed my concern of weight, and she showed me a pair of blue turquoise colored frames from the paper thin collection of a brand (can’t remember), they were really light! And looked great on me. I didn’t like high-​profile colors or shapes, so these ones were great — sophisticated yet not flashy. I was really liking them.
However, I didn’t get to buy them at that visit because my boyfriend didn’t have enough attention to spare for me as he focused on his, and more importantly I needed some time to chew over it before I spend some good dollars that I didn’t quite plan on spending. Same thing happened for my boyfriend, so we walked out without buying a thing after an hour of trying on glasses. The people there were patient and friendly during that.
So two days later before our trip ended, we went back to give it a second look and he ended up buying one of the most expensive pair in the whole store (–_​-​||) that is some retro classic antique white gold frames. He got measured and the store will send them in mail to him after the lenses are done since we don’t live in Seattle. A different lady was there (Barbara) and she picked some for me (including my fave from last time, the blue turquoise ones). I still liked them the most. I totally should have been more decisive and bought them — but I didn’t (I was too cheap after spending much on other things…). My boyfriend is absolutely satisfied by the service he received. So now I’m sitting here regretting and hopefully next time I get to go there I’ll find them again or something even better. Maybe I’ll finally have a paid of glasses that I can wear day in and day out comfortably and confidently.

Wonderful and caring staff with amazing taste and skills to find a perfect eyewear for the customer. They went extra mile for me to not only to find a perfect frame, but repair, adjust and even get a new lenses for free on my old pair. I would recommend to anyone who wants an individual and customized service. Thank you so much for your wonderful service!

I went in here looking for frames with my husband. Both of us were put off by the overbearing and pushy attitude of the saleswoman. She was friendly, but in that sort of insulting but it’s ok because I am being funny way. If you like that, then go here.
Like most trips to the eye glass store after a long time of not having them, I wanted a little time and space to look at glasses. She was attempting to be helpful, but also very pushy. I said I wasn’t fond of her choice on my face… she said «hmmmmmm. whhhhyyy?» I was looking to try to identify why we didn’t like them. But, I wasn’t fast enough for her, so she condescendingly said (as if talking to a child), «ok…let’s use your words.» After that, I set them down and said, «I don’t know. I don’t like them.» I was ready to go after that but didn’t want to be rude to her. She handed me glasses and was attempting to tell me that I was wrong about them, that they fit my face. However, I didn’t like them, regardless of fit. She finally said, «maybe I should give you some time to look around.» I said, «that would be great. thank you.» But she didn’t. She kept going. I think she thought she was helpful but she kept telling me how wrong I was about everything. My last three pairs I bought were from Eyes on Fremont, and the one before that was from Market Optical. I have never experienced this kind of friendly but condescending customer service.
Because we were having trouble finding a frame, my husband stated that he may still have a pic of an PRADA frame I tried on at Costco when we happened to be shopping there. I think at this point I was put into a certain bucket of ‘cheap-​o,’ because when I saw a pair that I liked and commented on the $ 525.00 price tag, «oh wow, they are a lot.» she said, «well, honey, these aren’t Costco.» It wasn’t that I couldn’t afford it, it was because I didn’t think those particular frames were worth it. I don’t think they looked any different than the ones I could buy at another eye glass store for 200. But, since she thought I was super cheap, I used this as an excuse so I could go.
I think that had she given me the space to get comfortable in the store and not argue with me and tell me how naïve I was (overly assert her knowledge when it doesn’t really matter), I probably would have purchased a pair. I don’t think she wasn’t knowledgeable, but I just didn’t think her choices for my face were good ones.
I spent some time at another higher end place after this experience and it was night and day. Honesty with tact, no arguments, and the selection was just as good. I plan on getting my glasses there instead.
The extra star is for adjusting my backup pair of glasses. I had forgotten that I had bent the eyeglass nub. So, that was very nice of her. Again, if you like overly helpful and a little condescending humor at your expense, go there.

I was a first timer at 4 Your Eyes Only Optical, but I work in the area and had some time to kill so I walked in with no expectations.
so, I have only now renewed my prescription after almost 7 years of neglecting my eyes and was avoiding glasses for one main reason — my first pair of glasses my dad purchased for me as a kid at a lenscrafter was a pretty underwhelming experience and I ended up feeling like those glasses intruded my personal style rather than accentuating it. I kind of just decided my face wasn’t good for glasses or something. After my friends noted my driving was scary because of my eyesight, I knew I needed to get another pair of glasses.
The ladies at 4 Your Eyes Only were amazing. They are not only friendly and welcoming, but their service is impeccable. I told one of the associates I didn’t know much about buying glasses, and instead of patronizing me or trying to push expensive frames on me, she just used her expertise to genuinely style me with some good frames. The very first pair she picked out was amazing. That was the first time I felt like a pair of frames were made for my face, and that was where the «eureka» moment happened for me. I realized you have to find the right pair of glasses for your style/​face, and having people that really know what they’re doing makes a big difference to help you get the pair of glasses that you need. The ladies that work here are clearly experts at what they’re doing. After trying on a few frames that were picked out for me, we closed down on a pair of beautiful, hand-​crafted glasses that were just right for me. Yes, I paid easily double what my first pair of glasses had costed, but consider that cash the difference between wearing quality glasses tailored to you, or wearing something that was popped out by a machine by costco or any one of the eyewear chains out there.
Also consider your purchase a practical one, because the warranty is solid here as well. 1 year warranty on your beautiful frames, and a two year warranty on the lenses.
If you appreciate high-​quality, artistic and top-​of-​the line glasses for yourself you wont be disappointed by shopping here.

Wonderful customer service from Barbara. She was patient, fun, knowledgeable, and had great recommendations. But most of all she was honest, not only about how frames looked on me, but about the insurance situation. Unfortunately, my insurance (VSP) doesn’t cover small independent shops, so I wasn’t able to buy my lenses and new frames from 4 Your Eyes Only.
But I plan to go back and get their custom-​made sunglass clips for my new glasses. Note, these can be made for any brand of frame.

This place is great. They are more knowledgeable than any other place I have been. They are also honest. It goes a long way. I’ve been wearing glasses for 20 years and have visited shops like this is 5 different states. They are the best! I will never go anywhere else.

Stopped in today to burn some FSA Skrizzle and had a really great experience. I had it in my mind that I wanted a certain type of Eyeglass and was initially discouraged by the selection at first. That is until the eyewear professional got a hold of me and showed me all these really cool unique glasses that I would have never picked out myself. They seriously have some really unique things hidden about and they do a good job of getting you to think outside the box and try things that are new. Here I had my heart set on some pretentious hipster crap, and I walk out with some stylish ass glasses that are extremely unique. These command attention, which could be good or bad. not sure if I need people fixed on my ugly bearded mug.
While this place certainly isn’t the least expensive in town it’s pretty damn pricey actually. the service and selection really make up for it. There is a reason why people pay a premium to shop at places like Nordstrom. All about the service, good service is priceless these days.
If you have dedicated FSA funds allocated, I would give them a shot. Otherwise it’s really price prohibitive as they do not accept VSP. Maybe other insurances though, not sure. I estimate you’ll drop anywhere from 500 to 900 dollars w/​glasses and lenses if not more depending on the frame. Damn you’ll look sharp though I promise. Get ready to OWN the room like a damn boss.

I’m an out-​of-​towner, and came in to get my glasses fixed, and I could not have gotten better (and nicer) service — at an almost embarrassingly low cost. This place is a gem!!! And I wish we had a place as nice, competent and low-​key as this one in Chicago!

Wow! Believe the reviews here people. Barbara is a gem! Honest, straight forward, sweet, polite, passionate about her work, etc., etc…
If you want cheap, go to Costco, if you want pretentious hipsterism, go to Eyes on Fremont but if you want to look stylish and need a little (or a lot of) friendly guidance, go to 4 Your Eyes Only. You’ll walk out of there in your new glasses knowing that you’re looking better than you did on the way in.
Plus, it’s right next door to Trophy Cupcakes in a building that almost always has parking spots available.

This place is as good as it gets, and it lives up to all the excellent reviews it receives.
I decided to try 4 Your Eyes Only based solely on all the positive things I’d read on Unilocal; I really didn’t have more than a vague idea of what I was looking for when I walked in. Barbara was extremely patient with me, and helped me through trying on countless pairs of frames. She was very candid about what she thought looked good and what didn’t, which I appreciated. After about twenty minutes (and probably fifteen pairs of frames), I finally zeroed in on a pair of frames I love. I also bought a separate pair of reading glasses, which I am also extremely happy with.
My glasses arrived about five days earlier than promised, and when I picked them up, they spent a good deal of time making sure the fit was exactly right. The people there truly care about customer satisfaction!
As many other reviewers have commented, this place isn’t cheap; you can go to Costco and get glasses for about half the price. What you will not get if you go elsewhere is the attention to detail, the selection and the TLC you get at 4 Your Eyes Only. Do yourself a huge favor and buy your next pair of glasses there.
