offer great rates. I applied for their in office dental insurance package
because I do not receive a dental package from my employer
(nor can afford dental coverage through the major providers) and found
I can afford the care I need through 8 to 8 Dental. The dentists are kind
and supportive. All the staff are warm and welcoming! I love

I had to get a root canal. It was terrifying in my head, but actually getting the procedure done with the team at 8 to 8 was totally fine and not scary at all.
A root canal wasn’t scary.
They were super helpful dealing with my anxiety, after-​care (I came in a few times after for checkups) and explaining everything. They are awesome!

I chipped a tooth on my trip up to Seattle and found a dentist the following morning. They were accommodating and I was in front of a dentist within the hour. The staff were amazingly nice and the prices were excellent as well!

When I moved to Seattle a year and a half ago, I realised that I would have to go through that annoying process of finding new healthcare professionals to go to. No one likes that, right? 8 to 8 Dental is located just a block away from my apartment, so I decided to check them out due to the convenience factor. Boy, did I get lucky – they’re both super close to me as well as a great place to visit for dental care!
Dr. Park has a great bedside (chairside?) manner, and constantly asks if I am okay even during the most basic procedures such as cleaning. Fortunately, my teeth are all in good enough shape right now that I’ve only ever come here for the routine checkup/​cleaning. The first time I was in, they specifically researched what my insurance covered to inform me that I could get sealants for free. Now I have very well-​protected molars!
Everyone who works here is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, which is a great combination of traits to possess if you work in healthcare. I would definitely recommend coming here if you live within driving distance – they even have free parking for you at their assigned spots in the Lyric’s parking garage!

My experience was so shame-​free and informative! The staff did an excellent job of creating a comfortable environment and walking me through all the pieces. I was so pleased!
I’ve been putting off the dentist for a WHILE, sure I would get slammed and shamed for this mouthful of cavities and probably inadequate flossing technique or whatever, but I resolved to go ASAP once my new dental insurance kicked in. Navigating finding a dentist and dental insurance was pretty new for me too, so I was a little intimidated about that. I simply picked 8-​to-​8 because it was convenient for my work situation and the buses I ride, and I figured a big office would have a good deal of availability. They got me in within a day.
Fortunately, all of the staff seemed caring and warm (without being customer-​service-​a-​little-​too-​fake-​and-​creepy warm, and without doing too much of that small-​talking at me while my mouth is hanging helplessly open), which eased my nervousness. The exam was the most thorough exam and X-​rays I’ve had on my mouth, and Dr. Park was great about explaining some of the problem areas and potential issues to watch out for in a clear, understandable way. They even took pictures to show me. I like understanding what’s going on in there.
We ended up having some trouble with my insurance (not 8-to-8’s fault) and they were super helpful at making something work and explaining options. I’ll also need to follow up with a specialist elsewhere, and the staff answered all my questions about that process.
The exam took longer than planned (then again, I’ve got some issues), so give a little cushion if you’re squeezing your visit in the middle of your day. But overall, I had an excellent experience and am so glad I ended up going here.

Super awesome quick working. I normally HATE dealing with dental work. I hate everything about it from the needles, the waiting, the whole lets give you guilt trips for your crappy evolutionary teeth, but these guys are super friendly and made it kind of nice. I had a tooth break on me months ago and I was just sitting on the pain because I didn’t want to deal with dentist. My partner reminded me that I have freaking insurance now and I should use it, and so I finally went back (they had pulled a tooth last year). The dentist was amazingly cool about setting up a payment plan as well as getting the tooth that was broken root canaled and ready for a crown (within the next 6 months). These guys are epic and wonderful, and open on Saturday as well. If you don’t have a dentist or are looking for a new one, GO HERE!

My own dentist was on vacation and I had a dental emergency. I went here since it was close to my house. Not only were they able to get me in the same day, but everyone was so wonderfully kind as well. They were fast and efficient. They did a temporary fix to last until I could get back in with my regular dentist. If I was not in the middle of getting specific dental work done I would definitely switch dentists and go to them for everything. I just so appreciated everything they did.

I chipped my front tooth badly and gave them a call to see if I could come into get it fixed on a Saturday. They scheduled me, and after the dentist looked at my tooth, he said they’d have to schedule an appointment next week to fix it.
After explaining the only reason I came in on a Saturday morning to a dentist that was not my own was to get it fixed. He said, «sorry, you’ll have to come back.»
Typical bait and switch — I think not; CAUTION when scheduling an appointment. Be VERY clear about what you expect to have done and have them repeat it to you. Then, before you go it, be clear again.

Ugggghhhhhhh the dentist. I want to give 1 star just for being the crappiest of life’s necessary evils. That being said, my experience here was about as good as a Saturday trip to the dentist can be. The long and short of it:
1. Hours. 8 – 8 (I’m sure you needed me to tell you that) on weekdays and 8 – 2 on Saturdays makes getting in really easy. It also removes my go-​to excuse for not going. Super convenient.
2. Drugs. Holy man, they numb the crap out of you. My face is still numb at the time of writing this. I went in for a deep clean and they shot me up with so much lidocaine that if I had my eyes closed I wouldn’t be able to tell if they were in my mouth or not. Definitely my preferred method of dentistry.
3. Staff. I haven’t met an employee here that wasn’t upbeat, energetic and helpful. It really does make a difference in the atmosphere of a place that I typically dread walking into. From receptionist to dentist, I always felt like they were trying to make me comfortable.
4. It’s a Dentist Office. I needed to have something negative here. I really really don’t like going to the dentist.
I can’t complain in any way about 8 to 8, as far as digging around in your mouth with a wide variety of sharp objects goes, they’re pretty good at making the process as painless as possible (yay lidocaine). I highly recommend.

It’s been a few months since I was at 8 to 8, so this review is long overdue.
A few months ago, I was happily eating and all of a sudden I heard a crack. Half my tooth had cracked off so a trip to the dentist was needed as soon as possible. I needed a crown on that tooth so I researched some general dentists in the area and finally settled on 8 to 8.
Why 8 to 8? Mostly because they already had good reviews and I really liked their membership/​payment options. I don’t have dental insurance currently and a crown was going to run me ~$ 1k. With 8 to 8’s membership option I ended up paying about $ 700 for the crown (if I recall). Their website also has a bunch of other discounts you can get when you join their membership option. It was specifically made with people without dental insurance in mind. It was the biggest factor in why I chose them.
Service there was wonderful, the receptionists were all really friendly and attentive. The dental assistants and Dr. Chang himself were all super nice and they are easy to talk to and won’t make you feel awkward while you’re waiting for a filling to harden or the lidocaine/​novacaine numbing shot to take effect. They also take the time to go over your billing with you step-​by-​step so you know the costs and what you are paying for. They are also speedy with lab services so if you need a crown, you’ll be able to get one within a very reasonable time frame.
The office itself is one of the nicest dental offices I’ve been to. They have snacks and beverages. my childhood was full of really white, sterile looking dental offices so I usually don’t have the best impression of them. It was also because of Dr. Chang that I finally got a mouthguard for my teeth grinding at night. He showed me how worn down my teeth had become (something I didn’t really want to admit) and recommended me to get third party ones. He didn’t try to push getting custom made ones, which I appreciated since they do cost quite a bit.
Overall, I would definitely recommend giving them a shot and now that I live in Capitol Hill (and super close to them), I’ll go to them for all my dental needs. I still have a long overdue teeth cleaning and another crown to go, but one procedure at a time!

Oh, how I love this amazing, friendly, and pain-​free practice. I’ve gone here four times now, once for 3 cavities to be filled (at the same time) and three times for cleanings/​exams/​consults.
Dr Chang is the best ever. No exaggeration. He is oriented entirely to the comfort of his patient, acts like a real human being, and jokes ALL the time. He really has made so many otherwise awful dental visits bearable for me.
All the staff are friendly and up to date on who you are, why you’re there, billing, etc.
And the membership: I recommend it. Take care of your teeth, then you won’t have to get dentures at age 45.

Dr. Chang was fantastic! Very friendly, knowledgeable, and above all, excellent people skills! He chats with his patients, makes them feel at ease, and makes jokes. I recommend going here (and so do my teeth, lol!)

I think I found I a dental clinic I will have no problems recommending to my friends.
Place and location: Beautiful and cozy interior. They serve teas, coffee, and snacks (best way to get some stuff in between your teeth before your appointment haha). Just to add, the bathroom is really clean.
Staff: All were wonderful. Dr. Chang was very knowledgeable, friendly, and builds up good rapport with patients. He explains all the procedures, treatment choices, and asks you for any other questions. Good listener, which is what we all want from our providers. Dr. Chang has the tendency to pat your shoulder a couple of times during his conversation, that was his mannerism. I did not mind, but other people might. I found him very kind. The dental hygienists Matt and Isaiah were great. I did not feel bored and I felt very comfortable in their care. They seem interested in you as a person and not only as a patient. The receptionists were amazing too. I had to call back and fix some credit card issues and the lady was very patient and accommodating.
Quality of care: Top-​notch, extensive, thorough, comprehensive, and all other synonym words! This is the first time I experience my dentist being a photographer as well haha! He took some actual pictures to show me what was wrong and what needs to be done. Visual feedback can really help patients be more responsible for their own care. I just hope that the comprehensive exam was not too comprehensive that my insurance will not cover some of it haha. The billing person told me the comprehensive checkup was fully covered, I am hoping this is accurate haha!

First time going here, had to get a new dentist since I moved to this neighborhood. I had some insurance mixups, but the staff was incredibly accommodating and helped explain the issue while moving my appointment back in the day to give me time to fix it.
The dental staff was very easy to hold a conversation with, and open to all questions I had about my dental health. I feel really confident in my dental maintenance now and will be going back in 6 months for a regular cleaning.

I chose 8 to 8 Dental because they were recommended by some people at work and they have great Unilocal reviews. BTW I should add a disclaimer that they give a $ 5 starbucks gift card for a Unilocal review, but that doesn’t depend on whether the review is good or bad. That explains the volume of the reviews, but the rating is entirely due to the dental experience.
It is a efficient and good dentist office. The lobby of the office is very comfortable and they have free parking in the back for patients (which, in that are of the city, is really expensive to come by). There is a coffee bar stocked with coffee, cider, hot chocolate, and tea; I guess it’s more for the people accompanying the patient than the patients themselves. It’s a nice touch.
I honestly felt that the treatments suggested by the Dentist Park were geared toward maintaining health teeth, rather than geared toward selling me things I did not need. I got a good cleaning and xrays done. Unlike most places which have a hygienist do all the cleaning, Dr. Park himself does most of the cleaning. This has to be the best cleaning I have received. The hygienist even asked me at the end if there was any place I felt that was unclean and I wanted her to clean. She even flossed my teeth (which, the other dentist I used to go to did not do).
They even give you dark sunglasses to dim out the dentist light which shines into your eyes usually. My previous dentist did not do that and it was unnerving. Since I did not know any better, I thought that was the norm.
I scheduled a follow up appointment later to discuss my treatment and at that time all effort was taken to ensure that I was comfortable in the chair and was asked whether I wanted something to drink while I waited.
They follow up on appointments and send you reminders. They even have a web portal where you can look at your past and future appointments and finish questionnaires so that you don’t have to wait for long at the dentist. As I said, very fast, efficient and effective.
Even with my treatment plan, it was geared towards maintaining healthy teeth and gums and not on upselling me. My previous dentist (I am beginning to see a pattern here) wanted me to get a plethora of services and made me feel that my teeth and jaw were going to fall off any day. But after a second opinion from another dentist, I knew that was not the case. And Dr. Park gave the same diagnosis as the other dentist (ie my teeth were fine for the most part).
There were some hiccups while booking the appointment where they booked me for the wrong time, but that got resolved with a couple of phone calls.

First off, visiting 8 to 8 dental was my first visit to a dentist in over 3 years. They are right around the corner from me, so I selected them for my first dental visit due to their proximity to my house.
I am so glad I chose 8 to 8 Dental. It is a great dentist office. The lobby of the office is very comfortable and its arranged such that you can feel some privacy when you are waiting. There is a coffee bar stocked with coffee, hot chocolate, and tea. I don’t really understand the hot chololate and cider in the dental office bc they are sugar loaded, but the other beverages were nice.
The treatment I received was top-​notch and i’m glad I wasn’t upsold on any treatments. I honestly felt that the treatments suggested by the Dentist Park were geared toward maintaining health teeth, rather than geared toward selling me things I did not need. Also, thanks to Dentist Park’s skills my teeth feel immaculately clean!
One person who especially stood out on my visits was the dental assistant Nicole. She is supremely professional, competent, and caring. She made the Dentist’s job effortless, which allowed him to focus on my teeth rather than to focus on what tools he needed. While the dentist was away, she made every effort to ensure I was comfortable in the chair and she regularly asked me how I was doing.
There is not question, that even when i move away from cap hill, I will make this my official dental office for the rest of the time I a here in seattle.

Very honest and friendly dentist, wish they were also mechanics.
