A Burger Place

Their burgers are decent. Their beef patties were pretty dry and not that great tasting, although their crispy chicken patties were pretty good. They give you a lot of fries and the concept of building your burger is cool and the price is not bad unless you build a crazy burger

Besides it can be kinda pricy, I love their burger. For me a burger is usually good the first few bites but then can be greasy, but their burgers are good from the first to last bite. Their fries are pretty good too. The food comes out fast which is another plus.

I finally found a good burger place to rely on when I want one! Very affordable, rarely do I ever go over $ 10. I also like the ordering process, no need to shout what you want over noise from a full house!

I came here with a good friend so not much could have gone wrong but looking back honestly I was not very impressed. It is cool how you select what you want in your burger but you to have to pay 1 dollar for everything you put in your basic burger that already cost 6 dollars really adds up. I had a 13 dollar burger that tastes like a 6 dollar burger. I would suggest going to this other burger place next door called Burger Hut. On top of the imbalanced price, the atmosphere is not nice either and the service is very blah (unfriendly).

One star: the food was bad and I had a negative experience.
Two star: I had a more negative experience and would not come here again but the food was good so I may.
Three store: Everything is good except one thing. Example-​the food is good, the price is more reasonable but the atmosphere is lacking class. Or the food is good, the atmosphere is good, but they over charged us. These three stars are actually my favorite types of restaurants to go eat at if the reason is due to the atmosphere because they are usually delicious and reasonably priced.
Four stars: Everything is great, food and experience. However the price is definitely on the upper end. I would not recommend this first to Obama unless he didn’t like my five stars. These are restaurants you can take your boss or your mother-​in-​laws to impress them, however they still don’t fit into the five star category. A bit fancier than my three stars, hence I don’t often eat here unless there is an occasion for it or there is a groupon that gives me a bit of a discount!
Five stars: I would recommend this to Obama. The price may be on the upper end but the experience and the taste is so exquisite, it is actually worth every nickel and dime.

Great place for fast food on the ave. the restaurant is clean and big. Service is fast. The best is that you get to make your own burger and they have curly fries! I tried their homemade sauce and it was delicious! I would definitely have it again. I also tried their chicken wings, they were ok but not as good as the ones a nearby burger place makes, it’s called: burger and kabob hut. Besides the chicken wings I’m satisfied with everything else, especially that they give plenty amount of mushroom! It’s sad that they don’t have milkshakes. But curly fries and burger are enough reason to make me come again.

The thing I like about this place is that you get to customize your burger (and therefore customize your price). So if you’ve got the money to spend or if you’re looking to be a bit more economical, this place might suit your needs.
The burgers were pretty good, especially the burger buns, which were surprisingly not those sad squashed things you get at some major burger chains. The fountain sodas here are refillable as well, so if you’re planning on eating in, you might consider getting a fountain soda.
The seating area is a bit tight, but it works.
The restroom here is surprisingly OK.

I absolutely Love this place! Even though I have my moments of McDonald’s withdraws of the chemicals included into the would-​be «food» that’s served, this place, A Burger Place gives you that same satisfaction of an ALL NATURAL food experience the way it should be from the start.
The set up is also pretty unique & memorable given you have a sheet of items & various condiments that you can choose from to have on your burger to make it as simple or massive as you want.
The staff is always very friendly, as well as attentive & the place is ALWAYS on point with being clean & tidy. For a burger & fry joint that can be a challenge I’m sure. The service and the food is consistent & that’s one of the main things I love about it.
The only thing that doesn’t make it a complete 5 stars in my book as well as what an other commenter had pointed out — is the fact that they don’t sell milkshakes along with the meals. That to me would bring it home to full circle of a typical & addictive burger place that you’d go to, to have all cravings satisfied that you’d expect from A Burger Place.
Still a place I’d happily bike to from West Seattle, Downtown, or Capitol Hill in having a great eating experience. :-)

This place nails it.
Burgers and chicken sandwich were outstanding. Fries were very good. Fountain sodas are very generous in size.
People working there were accomodating and the food came out promptly and hot.
Small with community seating but it works for a college town.
Don’t blink or you’ll pass the door by. Worth finding.

Oh. My. God. I could die and go to heaven over these burgers.
The salmon burger is perfection, it looked a little iffy at first but once I bit into it… Wow. The staff is amazingly friendly and a great joint to chat with. The environment was cool and good for groups to come eat at. The entrance is really small though. Either way. 100% raving from me. I love this place

I feel really bad leaving one star. But when you try to have a chicken pineapple burger, and the chicken has the texture of sandpaper, the consistency of a pedigree race horse, and each chew fills your mouth with the Sahara dessert, that’s a one star rating experience.
I’m not the best cook. In fact, I would definitely be in the lowest percentile if ranked in cooking ability, but I have yet to make chicken trifecta bad as this.
I will definitely be back to try again, as I don’t think one experience is definitive, and I’ve had cheeseburgers there before, and they weren’t memorable, but edible at least.

One of the better places on the ave. A little greasy, but I like that you can customize your burger as much as you want. Good service and pretty clean.

Clean especially for a burger joint! Fast service as well as easy to order and not bad pricing at all. I’m pretty full with a chicken sandwich that was just 6.20 $ including tax. I wouldn’t say it was amazing but I definitely enjoyed the freshness of a burger with the tangy house sauce that didn’t over drench the nice toasty and warm bun. Pretty good burger place I must say and good options as to what type of burger you can get. :). However, I kind of wish they had different bun options as well as other foods than «just» burgers.

Possibly a 5 star if only they accepted AMex and offered milkshakes!

added the regular toppings but the fried egg and pepper jack cheese really is the winning combination.

Burgers here are good; I’ll give them that. But the ordering is reminiscent of living in the dorms, which just makes it feel like overpriced dorm food. You get this little sheet of paper and circle everything you want (those who lived in UW dorms may know what I’m talking about [cough 1101 cough]). It comes out to like 15 bucks for a burger and a drink and it’s pretty much the same burger you can get anywhere else except I guess you don’t have to talk to the waiter and tell them what you want. Not a good place if you’re looking for a REALLY good burger, very good place if your are very picky with foods or have a severe allergy.

I come here whenever I need a burger fix. Very reasonably-​priced and tasty hamburgers. They’re carefully put-​together and there’s always the perfect amount of condiments on them. The fries always come out pipping hot. Its not the best or fanciest hamburgers in the world but its a great place to get a good, filling meal!

This is one of the more popular restaurants on the Ave, and now I can see why. I graduated from UW over two years ago and I’m finally trying this place out for the first time. I’ve been missing out! A Burger Place provides some nice calories for the broke student, but I totally enjoyed my visit and found it worthwhile. Why did I skip this little restaurant over all these years?
It’s so nice how ordering here is fast and simple. They have paper menus on which you mark everything you want added to your custom-​made burger. I got the double quarter-​pound beef patty ($ 4.95), cheese ($ 0.50), fried egg ($ 1.00), avocado ($ 1.00), and lettuce/​tomato/​onion/​pickle (all the vegetables are free, so I suggest loading them all up!).
I wouldn’t recommend getting much more than that, as the whole thing starts to get hard to keep together once you add too much to it, and the price can actually get racked up fairly quickly if you’re careless. Each burger is obviously made to order, but they’re still ready in very little time and are delicious. Who needs fast food when you have this?

The boyfriend and I have been searching for a favorite burger place. Sadly, this is not it, but it does rank up there with the best burgers we’ve had since being in the area.
It was completely customizable and was good quality.
I don’t know that we’d make a special trip from Puyallup to go here, but if we’re in this area again, we definitely wouldn’t hesitate to go in.

I really found this place to be nothing special. It also is kind of small, but… Seattle tho. You come in and just fill out your little form of what burger you want and what sides and toppings your want and hand it to the cashier who in turn gives it to the cook and rings you up. I’ve seen this idea before in other places so there is nothing original about it, but it saves a waiter having to take your order and you have to be responsible for what you put on the form.
We picked this place as I knew they have veggie burgers along with several other type of burgers. Of course it’s like a Morningstar veggie burger, but whatever. I found that the burger had no flavor and no matter how much ketchup I put on or salt I added (which I NEVER do), it just didn’t give the burger anything special. I tried to add fries to the burger even. Plus I had to find a way to get rid of all my fries. I will say that they do give you a large helping of fries and my friends and I said as we sat down, «Jeez, we should have shared the fries.» Plus we had two kids with us who had their own portions of fries, so we had fry overload. Probably at least a 3−4lb bag of fries amongst us all.
Free refills on drinks and you have to separate your trash and compost which I know is a Seattle thing so be aware of which disposal you’re using before you drop your tray.
Overall this is just a simple burger joint. It’s simply decorated and has small tables just in case you want to bring a laptop or tablet to do some studying or just hang out. It was fairly inexpensive as well.
I think they have free wifi, so just ask for the password.

The onion rings were absolutely delish! If you’re a fan, these won’t disappoint.
And on to the main attraction: the burger. I had a ¼ lb cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, ketchup, and mustard. I thought this burger was a step above national fast-​food burger chains, and the $ 8.50 seemed about right.
I’ll be back for more of those onion rings!

I graduated from UW a long time back, but nothing has really changed on the «Ave» (University Way) over the last couple (or more) decades. For eats, there’s still a plethora of teriyaki, phở and Thai restaurants. Apparently, UW is in the purgatory between spring and summer quarters, because when I arrived here this past Sunday around noon, hardly anybody was on the Ave.
There’s two major burger places on the Ave (excluding Jack in the Box), and A Burger Place possess the better ratings of the two. A Burger Place has a high ceiling and airy feel. The décor design is modern and slick.
What I instantly liked at A Burger Place was that you fill out a form to specify what you want on your burger. The form is very straightforward. I went with a double-​patty burger with tomato, pickle, fresh onion, bacon and their house dressing. I also ordered fries and a soft drink. Curiously, they have a sign on their cash register that states «Absolutely no illegal downloading permitted!!!» («no» is underlined three times). My question is: download what and how?
My burger and fries appeared quickly (there were just two other customers around). The shoestring fries were pretty good while fresh and hot, but as they cooled, they became tough and leathery. Also, the fries were overcooked. The burger was excellent, and very neatly and carefully assembled. The patties were indeed Burgerville-​slim, so ordering a double-​burger turned out to be exactly the right choice.
The combined price for my burger, fries and soda was $ 8.65, which I thought was reasonable, considering portion sizes. I’d consider coming back if I was in the U District and craved a burger right then and there. But otherwise, though the burgers are good, I wouldn’t come across town just to eat here.
