Welcome to the pediatric dental website of A Kids Place Dentistry for Children in Renton and West Seattle, WA — Dr. Keith McDonald. At A Kids Place, we’re changing the myth of scary dentistry one smile at a time!

Dr. McDonald and his staff provide specialized dentistry for children and adolescents in a child-​friendly environment in the Renton and West Seattle Washington area. As pediatric dentists, Dr. McDonald and his associates focus on preventive care to help each child achieve a healthy and long lasting smile.

History

Established in 2013.

Our newest office in Seattle was opened in June 2013. It is the 2nd location for Dr. Keith McDonald. The original office is located in Renton, WA.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

After graduating from the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dentistry (MUSC) in 1996, Dr. McDonald practiced general dentistry in the U.S. Navy for four years. He then returned to MUSC to complete his two-​year residency training in pediatric dentistry. After fulfilling his three-​year naval obligation in Okinawa, Japan as a pediatric specialist, where he received the Thomas P. Carroll «Top Doc» award for clinical excellence, Dr. McDonald decided to open his own pediatric dental office in the Renton Highlands in September 2005. Currently, Dr. McDonald also volunteers his time working at the Odessa Brown dental clinic (an affiliate clinic of Seattle Children’s Hospital) and is also an affiliate faculty member of the University of Washington School of Dentistry.

We decided to change dentist for our 12 year old recently and were very impressed by our first visit to see Dr. McDonald. His staff was great and very interactive with children. Our hygienist was more than capable and very patient and understanding. Dr. McDonald was extremely genuine and honest with his professional opinions as was he thorough in his assessment. We are very happy and think we found our new dentist for the long term.
The office itself is a dream for children, from cute interior décor, iPads in the lobby, televisions above the dentist chairs, to fun gifts and cavity-​free rewards cards.

My son have been seeing Dr. McDonald when his office was still in Renton. It was a recommendation from a friend. Dr. McDonald is awesome! My son had a couple of major dental works there. Not only did he not cry a bit, but he actually laughed when Dr. McDonald showed his removed tooth! To my son, Dr. McDonald is like a magician. I have never heard a kid said he loves going to the dentist! And he said that!
What I like about this office is that everything is kid-​focused. From the office setting (with toys that are age appropriate for different age groups), to the staff (all of them can make an animal out of balloons in two minute). They are friendly, funny, and the dentist is gentle and knowledgeable. What else do you ask for if your dentist can make your kid laugh after having his tooth removed?

My son is not a big fan of the dentist… I was actually dreading about going into the dental office since our last 2 experience were bad and how scared he was to go. My son was a new patient and the check in process was quick an easy. He loved Dr. Claire and Ms. Mary! They were so nice to him, they explained how the tools work and even let him try so that he wouldn’t be scared. They played Frozen, which was a plus for me too! The whole enviroment was very kid friendly. He enjoyed the balloon animal he got at the end of his visit. He named his balloon animal Pluto and was telling everyone about his visit. He can’t wait for his next cleaning. =)

We just had the most awesome experience. Went in for an urgent care visit that resulted in an extraction. Dr. McDonald and Brittany saw us at the the Renton clinic and were efficient, warm and on spot. The visit was smooth and dr. McDonald was an excellent provider making conscientious decisions for my daughter. It was the best children’s dentistry visit we have had! Thank you.

We had a great experience, and have switched to A Kids Place, Too. I love that they have movies for my son to watch during the cleaning, easy to scheduled and I really liked Dr. McDonald. Highly recommended!
