Abundant Heating and Air Conditioning

I can’t believe I never wrote a review for this company! Kerry and his team have been a great source of service to me for the last 6 years. First was a new furnace installed at my previous house. His workers were efficient and finished in one day with no problems! Then we had a thermostat problem in our new (15 year old) house and Kerry was there to fix it right away. This past summer we contemplated on getting air conditioning installed and thought we would change the furnace at the same time being told through inspection it needed to be replaced. Kerry told us the inside was replaced by the previous owner, which we didn’t know about, and should last us another good 7 years! He won’t make you buy the most expensive or unneeded things like a big expensive air conditioning unit when it only typically is warm here 2 months of the year. We hired Kerry to install our air conditioner and it has worked great all summer long. He even moved the area for our air filter when he did the air conditioner so it would be easier to change. I’ll be sending over more people if they ask for a referral.

Terry and Chris (I might not have the spelling of her name right) pulled off a miracle, and my family and I are nothing but grateful.
Our «top of the line» furnace from B****t decided to stop working on Thanksgiving morning, right at the start of a cold snap. After a trip to the hardware store to invest in a few space heaters, I called every reputable repair company I could find, and with very few exceptions, no one had the staff available to help us within a reasonable amount of time… except Abundant. Terry figured out the problem with our dead furnace (cracked secondary heat exchange), and quoted a very reasonable price for a new furnace with capabilities that were way more in line with what our house actually needed.
Chris was fantastic in her proactive communication with me. It was clear that she was putting in a good amount of effort to get our installation on the calendar as soon as possible. After a full four days of the long holiday weekend without heat, she managed to get her crew out to our house by 10:30AM Monday morning. It was great to get a text from my wife only a couple hours later saying that her and my 4-​month old kiddo were finally warm.

I had used Kerry for many years to service my furnace and when it came time to replace it, he spent great time with me asking questions about my lifestyle, how long I planned on being in the house, what size furnace my square footage really needed. He did not try to upsell me and provided me with good sound recommendations. I LOVE my new furnace and am now snug like a bug… bring winter on!

Kerry, the owner of Abundant, came to our house to give us an estimate on some work we thought we needed to have done (furnace service, duct cleaning, and adding new ducts). After spending a half hour answering my questions, he talked himself out of some business. Well, immediate business because he explained why the work we thought we needed wasn’t necessary now.
Having such an honest businessperson come to give a quote, assure us our system was in good condition, and offer maintenance tips lost them out on business in the short term (because they weren’t looking at doing unnecessary work) but won over new customers for any future HVAC needs we will have.
Another plus was turnaround time between when I first called and when he was able to come out. It only took a week between my initial call and the first availability he had.

I had Abundant come to replace the furnace vent pipe. I hired them because they gave me the lowest bid and more than one neighbors recommended them.
Because of my busy work schedule, their scheduling lady was willing to work with me to schedule a time that worked for me. Her response was always prompt.
The crew were very courteous and patient with me. They explained every detail of their work. The job was nicely done. I have nothing to complain. Plus, it was much cheaper than the bids from other contractors. I am very satisfied, and would like to use them again.

They were so kind in fitting us into a busy Christmas Eve schedule at the last minute and didn’t charge extra for it. Having your furnace go out the day before Christmas with temperatures dropping can be very stressful. Kerry was very nice and extremely professional and graciously explained everything he was doing and how the furnace works to a very stressed out and overly curious customer. He was patient, kind, quick and affordable and we will definitely use them again! Abundant Heating really came through for us! Thanks again Kerry!

Wrote an email and received a response shortly after. But after following up multiple times they went radio silent. If you can’t follow through with simple emails, then why would I even consider hiring you for work?
Its fine if you don’t have the time, but blowing off potential customers is rude and inconsiderate. And btw, based on other reviews, it sounds like your other would-​be customers are having similar issues. Customer beware!

Abundant Heating is different! They are Honest, reliable and professional and will come out for a small job… Other business seem to only want the big fish.
This company set up a schedule with me came out on time and delivered the service, communicated the options gave great advice and charged a fair market price for the work for a tune-​up on my Furnace. The company is now on my «A» list

We are looking to find a company to replace our furnace and possibly install a gas line to our house, I had questions I wanted to ask them, if they did this kind of work. Found them on Unilocal,with great reviews, so I decided to call them.
Called them a couple weeks ago, left a DETAILED MESSAGE, repeating my phone # twice. Never received a call back. Unfortunately I will now look elsewhere, if a company cannot communicate, its a company I am not willing to pay to do work on our furnace. Moving on!

Honest and professional! I had the hardest time getting heating and plumbing companies to give me a quote to convert my boiler from oil to gas. Kerry was the 6 person to actually make it out to the house. He gave me a quote and time frame on site, and delivered everything as promised. He even came back 2 or 3 times to adjust the thing when it was burning rich (our boiler’s fault, not his). I was overjoyed to find a company that gave me a good price and great service. I will use Abundant for any heating or plumbing needs.

I called these people yesterday afternoon and left a message. We played phone tag for a couple hours and finally I was able to get ahold of someone…
Well after letting them know what i was looking for they said that I would need to be home and take a look at my thermostat to see if additional equipment would be required (I am just looking to add a fan circulation system within my current HVAC system).
She told me (Chris) that she would have one of her specialists give me a call when i got home so I could tell him what I saw. I informed her that I would be home between 4.15p and 4.30p and she said she would have the guy call me back then. …Well he never did. I do not like that. They must be doing really well if they can afford NOT to call a potential customer back when they say they would.
Now, this all happened yesterday afternoon so its only been 1 day. So I will see if they see this Unilocal (or not) and decide to call me back. But at this point, I will be going to another company, I should not have to beg for my business.

The team over at Abundant is amazing. We bought a house in May and switched to a mini-​split heat pump in June. The guys at Abundant stayed late the night before we moved in, in 90+ degree heat to make sure the units were installed and functional. I can’t say enough good things about these guys. The price was REALLY fair relative to other quotes we received. My only issue was with trying to get the Seattle City Light rebate after the work was done. There were a few administrative headaches on Abundant’s end, but it did eventually all work out. I would recommend these guys in a heartbeat – you won’t do better than Abundant for price or service.

I had Abundant Heating come out last year to fix my furnace and install a new thermostat. He was great! He arrived on time and had the parts on his truck to fix on the spot. He tested the furnace and showed me how it worked. Very helpful and informative! Now a year later, the furnace still works and the thermostat is great! I would definitely call them again for all my heating and cooling needs.

As soon as the weather changed and we turned on our older furnace, it decides to have problems. Even though Abundant Heating was swamped with so many other furnace repairs, they were able to send someone out right away. Eric and Alex (the two repairmen that were sent to us) were very good. The didn’t have the part with them, so they actually went to the store and bought the part, came back and fixed it on the spot. They also detected a gas leak that we had not discovered, and repaired that, too. The cost was very reasonable. We are very happy and warm now! We would definitely use this company again and recommend it to our friends.

Well I’ve been remiss at leaving my comments timely, but the gas furnace that just kicked on flawlessly served as a great reminder.
I initially contacted Abundant Heating back in June when I needed to replace an oil furnace in a house I moved into.
Kerry was on time for the estimate site visit, was very personable, and professional.
On installation day, the team arrived on time, and despite an initial misunderstanding (which we resolved quickly and amicably) that changed the scope of work slightly, they finished on time.
They took the time to walk me through the new thermostat and the new equipment installed so I knew where/​how to change settings, etc…
Anyhow…I highly recommend these folks if you ever need a furnace replaced. I will call them for my heating needs going forward!

Do you all remember a week ago when it was in the 90s and quite humid?
Thanks to these fine folks my home was 72.
I bought the Daikin ductless mini-​split heat pump system for the HEAT but am now realizing I LOVE the air too. I looked online at my daily energy use and I figure running the AC cost me about $ 8 for the six days I used it. Eight bucks. Total. Not per day.
The whole system was about 5K, was installed in a day and a half, I got a $ 1200 PSE rebate because it’s so fabulously energy efficient.
It’s quiet.
Heats and cools fast. On two different floors. At two different temperature settings.
And it has a remote so I don’t even have to get up off the couch to change the temperature or which way the wind blows.
I can set it so that it lets the room cool off two degrees if no one is in it, but if it senses movement it stays at the target temperature. How cool is that?!
And if you’re boiling a crap ton of pasta in the winter, don’t crack that window or put up with that useless, noisy stove fan. Just point your remote at your Daikin and switch on the humidity control.
This thing is maintenance free and if I could marry it I would. Truly the best home improvement dollars EVER spent.
And a great company to install it. I’d use them again in a heart-​beat.
Call them. Now. You know your basement is too cold in December and your bedroom is too hot in July and your electric bill is too big anyways. Call. You know you want to.

I called and got some five estimates before I decided to hire Abundant Heating & Air Conditioning for extending the gas line into my kitchen for gas range installation. I was surprised how varied the quotes were. These guy were not the least expensive, but very reasonable and when the owner himself came to my house to assess the process, he was very kind in explaining what it was that I was facing. Not all companies did that. In fact some of them took a more difficult approach to achieve the same thing (I believe) to charge a higher price. From the most expensive to the least expensive quotes, there was about 200% difference. I felt I received a very honest and reasonable quote from this company.
On the day of gas piping, two young men showed up. They were quick, cleaned up the mess after work was done, installed the gas range (as I paid for the installation, too). I was satisfied — until I went down to the garage to look at the particular piece they installed. It wasn’t to my expectation. I was going to have a permanent hole on my garage ceiling! I called them the following day, and the lead guy who did the work explained to me why it was done that way. I still wasn’t quite convinced. He offered to come around later to replace the part. They kept the promise, and made it good. Very much the same story as I read in many of the reviews. I will soon be replacing my furnace and water heater. I’ll definitely call this company again.

I literally cannot say enough about how great Abundant is! Early this morning (3am) we were awoken by an awful grinding, squealing sound coming from our furnace. Our heat went out, and we braved the 20-​degree weather relying only upon the body heat of our dogs! Needless to say, calling Abundant was my first priority upon waking up. I called based on the 5-​star rating on Unilocal (which is more than well-​deserved!) Kerry came out promptly and found that we needed a new motor. He had the part on his truck, replaced our motor, and less than an hour later we were toasty with a working heater. Also, Abundant is totally affordable, and Kerry was kind enough to give us tips about how we should manage what is a foreign experience to us (oil furnaces). I can’t thank him enough for making this an easy situation!
I love Abundant, and will use them for all of our furnace work in the future!

Abundant Heating has restored my faith in Unilocal reviews and in heating contractors.
January 1, gas furnace goes out and night time temperatures below freezing. Call January 2 and they are swamped, but the receptionist was kind enough to work with my schedule and send someone out at a time that suited me. Furnace decides to work as soon as I hung up the phone (most major appliances and computers get that fear of God in them as soon as they know a professional’s going to show up.)
The technician shows up, sees that the furnace is working and sets about to service it (hasn’t been serviced since 2007). In the meantime, he makes sure that we understand the intricacies of the furnace by explaining what could’ve gone wrong previously to have caused the malfunction (dirty sensor). After a thorough cleaning — during which he explained to us in detail what parts to take off and to clean (so that we could do it ourselves in the future, if we wish) — he is off. $ 149 + tax for the whole job. I know a lot of other places quote a fee to go out and then an hourly charge (which is what Abundant does too), but I’ve never met a contractor who’s been so patient and helpful in explaining my heating system to me, so that I could anticipate future problems. The money was well spent. If I have any further HVAC needs, I’ll definitely be going to Abundant.

Our thermostat decided to die on a Monday evening. I searched around on Unilocal for a good heating repair company and tried these guys.
I left a message monday night, they returned my call 7:30am the next day.
They worked w/​my schedule so i didn’t have to wait around all day.
They showed up around 3:30, popped in a new thermostat, checked out the furnace and were done by 4:30. They were really informative and helpful. The final cost was way less scary than we though.
