The food here is really mediocre and over-priced for what it is. The last time I tried a couple bites of the carbonara my husband ordered, which was saturated with grease, I returned home and writhed in pain from a gallbladder attack. Count me out.

Okay. So we come for weekend brunch(chicken fried chicken 5 stars) and dinners(carbonara to die for) and we can just be ourselves. Ambiance is okay(there are tvs everywhere for game day) but the staff is attentive and responsive, the food is generous and, most importantly, the home style Italian you serve yourself when you find the time. This is «mama’s» food. I guarantee you will go home with a to-go box for each of your party. And you will enjoy those leftovers all over again at lunch. 5 stars.

Disappointing. We waited a very long time for our food, and the restaurant really didn’t appear to be that busy. You can tell they aren’t very organized here. The pasta itself was pretty bland, which might have been acceptable if not for the $ 18 price. My friend’s salad also had some lettuce in it that was still frozen! We came here on a recommendation from a friend, but sadly, I won’t be back.

We ordered take out from here so I can’t say a lot about the service except it seems very friendly and fast based on my limited exposure. The food was excellent! We ordered the clam linguini and the lasagna and both were delicious. My only criticism is that the prices on their Unilocal menu vary considerably from their actual prices. Linguini $ 20.99 vs listed price of $ 16.95, lasagna $ 17.99 vs listed price of $ 15.95. When we opened the food containers and tasted how delicious and well made(and clam filled for the linguini) everything was we understood the higher price. I would just hope they update that on Unilocal as to not disappoint customer.

Kinda rough to find street parking but if you want to hang out in Admiral, you have to deal with that. The food was decent but overpriced for the portion. I probably would have given it a 4 but we were overcharged extra tip when we got our statement which we double checked with our paper copy. And yes, we left appropriate 15% tip to begin with. It may be an honest mistake but a surprising one.

About the same experience as last time: «good, not great.» Gets a bit loud inside(weird acoustics), but not too big an issue.
Will return in a while.

Had a craving for Puttanesca with XTRA capers and it is divine !!! Also, have had the Chicken Piccata and Veal Marsala. both winners as far as I’m concerned. These are the 3 dishes I order when I come for dinner, now NOT at one sitting. The waitresses are very nice.

It’s not a bad place as for as environment, service, and layout are concerned. I just think the food is very overpriced for what it is. A dinner for two with one drink each is around $ 60. Every time I leave this place after a meal I always wished I would have just picked up some frozen Italian food from my local supermarket. That really shouldn’t be the case. I’d say most entrees cost about $ 5 – 6 more than they should be. Also the Lasagna is terrible. It has no Ricotta so it ends up tasting like mushy meat/lasagna noodles drowning in sauce. It doesn’t even really look or taste like Lasagna.

Extremely bland food. Nice inviting restaurant though, great people watching vantage point of California avenue, great service. But the food. Not good. I had the risotto, that was barely edible due to extreme thickness in butter and cream, and a salad that seemed like it had come straight out of the refrigerator or freezer it was so cold.

I love this neighborhood spot, not only were my eggs and veggies cooked perfectly, the aroma is enticing at any hour of the day, and the staff is friendly and on point for your needs. The neighborhood appreciates the local vibe, and conversation seems to overflow like cheers, hence, everyone just might know your name. I look forward to returning frequently.

Seeking some good carbs, I came here the night before RNR Seattle. There were a few other tables seated when we arrived, but it never got full. Our waitress was attentive and we were quickly given drinks, fresh bread and our orders were taken. One of my friends was debating between two dishes and our waitress gave him some additional information to help make that decision. Portions were ample. I had a pesto dish of the specials menu and the guys each had other dishes. The food was good, but I found my pasta needed some salt – it was a little too bland. Easy and quick dinner, which was perfect for an early bedtime.

A friend and I happened upon this place. The staff was wonderful & the food was even better. My friend had the chicken parm, it was really good & huge. I had the lasagna, it had a spicy kick, it was really good. I will definitely go back again.

I came here with a friend. We were in the area and wanted to try a new place. If I had a time machine, I would have made sure we went somewhere else. The hostess/waitress was the same person. She was a loud, happy extrovert who clearly enjoyed her job. She put extra emphasis in making sure we knew she was there and could really reign it in a lot. The food was interesting and not authentic Italian, but I doubt that was their goal. It appeared, from the dirty, worn out menu and the ingredients used, that they were doing their family’s version of what Italian and some other cuisine cross over would be. It tasted all right, but I won’t return here again because it wasn’t Italian, it didn’t taste great, it wasn’t worth the price and the ingredients were cheap. I got a salad to start then a chicken spinach cannelloni. The salad was meh, with a mystery dressing. I asked what it was and didn’t get a reply. The two cannelloni came out over cooked with no accompaniments, just two tubes in a dish. The presentation was poor, as there was zero garnish. It clearly needed salt. My friend ordered spaghetti with chicken. You can’t really get that wrong. He said it was fine, but the sauce was plain and didn’t taste freshly made. Angelina’s aesthetic is a tossed salad of duct taped cables next to your table, dirty and chipped plywood without stain or paint in the dirty bathrooms, random gaudy and also well done art for sale hanging on the walls in the dining room with a black concrete floor and outdated signage and dinnerware. The abandoned restaurant across the street wasn’t much to look at either. It was also dark, and not on purpose. We were the only diners in the restaurant on a Friday night for the first 30 minutes then a family of four came in, followed by a couple. How dead they were didn’t surprise us at all due to the food they serve. Parking is horrible in this area as it’s street parking only and very little of that is available. There is a paid lot a block away that allows parking up to 2 hours max for $ 3, payable via phone only. Food: 2 Service: 3 Ambiance: 1 Parking: 1

Made the mistake of trying happy hour to cheer up a friend since we were right around the corner. Bland food. No flavor. Good luck getting any service in the bar if you are not a special regular. And the bartender tonight was the owner! You should know better… last time for sure!

If I were to go back in time(and if Unilocal existed back in 1993), I would’ve given Angelina’s a 5 star rating and a rave review. Alas times have changed. Food gets more costly, but here the quality of food has also diminished greatly. The character of this place has become a sports bar/shitty art museum. If I want to eat at a sports shack I’ll go to Kent. I miss the quaint checkered cloth tables, the shelves of red wine bottles, the Italian posters, Italian music and the little Italy charm. We don’t have a little Italy around here, so it felt homey to have this place. I miss the full dinners they served: a luscious anti pasti platter, a delicious dinner salad with house dressing or gazpacho, nice warmed rolls. I paid $ 11 for a terribly depressed salad size plate of previously frozen calamari served with ranch dip(however the marinara sauce that accompanied it was tasty). I’ve had much better calamari at Matadors HH for $ 5! We also had some garlic bread that was no better than heat and serve Texas toast. I had the fettuccine with chicken and hazelnuts and my baby had lasagne. Both were quite delicious and well seasoned. Angelina’s, I miss the ambience, the full Italian dinner(salad/soup, bread, entrée), and I’m terribly displeased with the quality of appetizers you offer.

My partner and I are in a disagreement on this one. He thinks 2-stars and I think 3-stars. Since it’s my review, I win. I wrote another review about a different Italian restaurant(Palermo on 15th on Capital Hill) that we went to, which was about 2-weeks prior to this one. Also a Thursday night. You know when you have a really great experience at a similar style of restaurant, and then you compare it to a restaurant you visit later with the same style and it doesn’t compare, that’s what happened here. The prices were more expensive, there was lots of kids around(I hate kids at restaurants, shouldn’t their selfish parents take them to McDonalds?), and the food just wasn’t as good. We had the bruschetta for an appetizer. They bring you the ingredients and make you put it together. If I wanted to do it myself, I would have stayed in, but I’m just so incredibly talented that I made it an amazing appetizer. Despite my amazing skills, the price was more expensive when compared to other places we’ve recently been. This is where my partner and I differ. He hated his meal, which was pasta carbonera. The proscuitto(ham) wasn’t cooked through; as in raw. I had the bolognese with meatballs. It had cinnamon in it, which I don’t believe cinnamon belongs in Italian meals. It just overpowers all the other wonderful Italian spices. To their credit, the description of the meal said it came with a nutmeg cinnamon spice. So, my bad, but I still stand by the statement that cinnamon shouldn’t be added to Italian meals. Our wait staff tried really hard. The guy serving us in the bar(we got as far away from the kids as possible) was new. Really new; said he was 20 minutes on the job when we showed up. He did a good job. The manager was also very attentive as she was training him. She checked in with us often. So, I give them 4-stars, but overall the place gets 3.

Angeline’s is a nice little Italian place in West Seattle. Food is ok but for a quick hot meal and a drink it’s not bad. Good happy hour menu, so if your looking to save $$$ on dining I’d catch that action… Grab a glass of vino and chill out!

We came here to celebrate Mother’s Day with brunch and it wasn’t a very good first impression. First of all the place looks a bit old and dark with low lighting and dark floor tiles which I’m not very fond of in restaurants. Secondly the food was bland. I had ordered the Angelina’s Hash and it came with three poached eggs, hash brown, ground pork hash and toast. None of the items it seems were seasoned before or after it was cooked. It had to put salt/pepper to give it any flavor at all. Plus the ground pork was mushy on the inside and burnt on the outside. It tasted disgusting and unappetizing to say the least. They even got my toast order wrong! Service was ok, but the price point was a bit higher than what I thought it was worth. My entrée was $ 10.99 and it should’ve been in the $ 7 to 8 range. Not a place I will be coming back to in the future.
