Aurora Dental Care

I’m generally very afraid of sitting myself down in that dental chair. Mostly because my teeth are really bad. I’ve had 3 appointments here. The first was a general check up and cleaning. That went well and was told I needed a deep cleaning and some teeth removed. Dr. Smith a very sweet older woman did a quick clean and I knew there was something special about her. They were very gentle and made me feel relaxed. The next appointment they performed the deep clean which required some shots. I was very pleased with the speed and efficiency. They numbed me before they used the needle. So then the big job of removing 3 upper back molars 2 of which were broken. Wow Dr. Smith is very skilled and proficient. She was fast and new exactly what to say to me. I felt no stress. The shots were almost painless. Throughout the procedure I felt nothing. I have found my new dentist and would feel very comfortable sending my friends and family there. I’m so excited to be on the path to a healthier mouth. Thank you Dr. Smith.

I had a lower molar extracted; it was over so fast, I couldn’t believe it. The staff was very friendly, direct, compassionate, and efficient. I had much less discomfort than I expected. Overall, I felt like this was a very good experience.

I have been going to Aurora dental care for years ! Dr. Smith is concern for her patients comfort. The staff is excellent with their clients. My dentist for years has moved east of the mountains I went to several Dentist after he closed shop and I’m thankful that I found Dr. Smith at Aurora dental care. Highly recommend Dr. Smith as your personal Dentist.

I absolutely hate going to the dentist. I grip the armrest like I’m being tortured, even if it’s only a cleaning. This is the only place I have found that makes me relax my grip a little. Dr. Smith is fantastic, and her entire staff is kind and patient. I haven’t ever been shamed for forgetting to floss, and I would recommend anyone looking for a good dentist experience.
I go to Dr. Smith for regular cleanings, and she has also done a gum graft for me, which was performed with skill and healed nicely.

I went back to get my root canal done by Dr Smith. I have always heard the words ‘root canal’ used to describe something really aversive as in ‘I’d rather have a root canal’. As it turned out, it was nothing; it was less unpleasant than cleanings and fillings that I have had done by other dentists in the past.

NO STARS! Avoid this dentist. I went in for a cleaning and X-​ray for tooth pain. They seemed more concerned with how I’d heard of them/​marketing than the appointment itself. I should have taken my X-​rays elsewhere. I made an appointment for the root canal that Dr. Smith said would stop the pain. I have no doubts that the selected tooth needed work and I’ve been told root canals hurt… bad. Halfway through the procedure, I required more Novocaine. She started re-​numbing me and stabbed her assistant with the needle. After 10 minutes of waiting for a new dental assistant she finished up the grinding of my jaw bone for the crown. She rushed the stitches of my gums. Did a poor job leaving an irritating scar above the tooth. After all of this SHE FAILED TO CHECK THE LENGTH OF THE TEMP CROWN! This caused me to hit the healing tooth EVERY TIME I slightly bit down. Went back for the post op still in a lot of pain, just to have her scold me. She wasn’t going to numb me for the grinding down of the STILL HEALING AND EXTREMELY SORE tooth. After all the healing, she had worked on the wrong tooth. I’m still in pain and cold sensitive on that side. I would not recommend Dr. Smith to anyone. I only had chosen her because she’s nearby and I had assumed she was doing well to be able to rent that new office. Turns out she must only be in the business for $$$$ not helping patients.
At least I learned a painful lesson and have a crazy story to tell.
p. s. the nurse they sent to my house for blood testing was nice, but rushed. Complaining of lighting in my house and had to stick me 3 times to get blood.

I’ve been going to this dentist for about a year now, and my experiences have been pretty pleasant as far as dentist visits go. Rachelle, the receptionist, is adorable and is great at answering questions about procedures or health insurance. She even gave me movie recommendations. She’s great. The cleanings are always fine, too. I recently got two of my wisdom teeth pulled and the procedure went very smoothly. Dr. Smith is indeed skilled and swift. She even called me that evening to check-​up on me. However, the only downfall with this dentist is that after the procedure is done, there isn’t much dialogue between the patient and dentist. For example, after my teeth were pulled, Dr. Smith runs off to jot down notes. Fine, that is very thorough, but I just had oral surgery and I want to be able to learn as much about how my procedure as possible. The anesthesia was also administered haphazardly without any explanation of what was being given to me. It felt forced, if you will. I prefer doctors to explain what is going on next so that I can prepare myself for it. I’m sure a certain amount of omission is necessary to avoid a fearful patient, but I like to know what’s going on. I also would have liked to see more thorough instructions on after-​care from the doctor herself rather than having to read a piece of paper afterwards. Overall, this is a good dentist and I expect to continue seeing her.
