Avalon Northwest is not a maintenance company. We offer high-​end residential landscape construction services only.

History

Established in 1996.

Co-​Founded in 1996 by Kevin Monohan and Keith Jellerson, our mission is to raise the quality of life for our clients. We seek to create gardens that inspire moments of reflection experienced only through a connection with nature. We strive to foster an awareness and appreciation of the outdoor environment of the Pacific Northwest.

As a service to the environment and its inhabitants, Avalon operates as organically as possible. We only buy composts, mulches, and soils that are deemed organic. We use organic fertilizers and we never apply herbicides or other pesticides. We also run our fleet almost exclusively on biodiesel fuel.

Business Owner

Like you, I love the Pacific Northwest. I grew up in the Cascades. I went to school in Oregon and have a Bachelor of Science in Ornamental Horticulture (OSU) and a second in Landscape Architecture (UofO).

Before settling in Seattle and starting Avalon with Keith in 1996, I worked up-​and-​down the West Coast in landscape maintenance, construction and installation. I also traveled extensively, enjoying the landscapes of South America, the South Pacific, New Zealand, and Australia. But it is the deep blues and greens of the Pacific Northwest, where I live with my wife, Mardi, and our two boys, Brodie and Tanner, that provides me with inspiration.
