Ballard Inflatable Boats

All I did was call this place to inquire about getting a repair. The gentleman who answered the phone, didn’t even wait for me to finish describing the problem. He interrupted to asked me how much the boat was worth to me. I said a few hundred maybe, I dunno. He said «well we’re a $ 100/​hr shop so you probably ought to just buy a new boat.» and then he hung up on me.
Wow. Seriously rude. Obviously going somewhere else.

After working on our motor, they wanted $ 200 to drive it back to our boat (about 5 miles away, in Montlake). I am not sure why they would charge that much; there is very little explanation with this company at times, so be sure you negotiate everything (in writing) before any repairs, purchases, or deliveries, which I should remember to follow myself. I will also take one star off my own ability as a shopper for not following this credo more closely when dealing with BIB.

After struggling l summer to get my engine running, I just brought my 1984 55 horse Suzuki in to have the guys at ballard inflatable work on it. They gave me an estimate over the phone that was very accurate, got my boat back to me in exactly the amount of time that they quoted, and were very helpful every time I called to check on their progress. I definitely recommend them for small outboard repairs. My experience was great!

Where do I start? I brought in my zodiac to have it check out and have all the repair done if needed. When I drop the boat off the staff came out and was all confused. Ranting about how him and the owner had pissed off the previous customer.(red flag I should have notice) anyhow they convinced me that they are the only shop that works on zodiac so I had no choice. Feeling iffy and concerned I dropped the boat off and told them what I wanted done. They came back they told me what they would do and not do.
What I wanted done was. Inflate the boat and do an air test.
Check for all repair that is needed and call me for cost.
What they wanted to do was. Repair the d ring. I was ok with at because it was ripped off by the previous owner so the d rings were gone (2) it ended up costing $ 406.90
And the d rings were not even on there. It would have cost me another $ 400 to have the d ring glue on…
I decided to bite the bullet and paid the $ 400 and change to take the boat else where, she had the gut to ask me if I would pay cash for some discount… I pay my tax when I work and I expect to pay tax when I purchase something. This place is so shady I don’t know how they are still in bussiness… don’t go there or even call there they will run you in circle and charge you for the time if your boat is there… WARNING

ok, I’ve been in this store many times, and i hated the service. but, i think the guy changed his tune. it was pleasant experience, AND, they delivered the boat i ended up buying (after my 3^rd visit) that same day to my marina. people can change. i’ll shop there again.

If I could give this place ZERO STARS, I would.
The owner is a jerk. I went in to purchase (in cash) a new tender for our boat and found one that fit the bill. He said it was 5 years old, never been used, never been outside. It was marked down and he wasn’t willing to deal on it whatsoever. No big deal since it was already attractively priced. I was paying cash so I figured he’d be happy about that. He said he’d take care of the paperwork for the title, clean up the boat and make it look like new and deliver it. We had to badger him for the paperwork, he didn’t clean up the boat, nor would he deliver it as promised and it turns out the seats on the tender had that pink mold that vinyl gets when it gets wet and doesn’t dry out, so the tender had been outside and he lied. When we pointed this out to him and asked him to fix this item, he refused.
Later on, went in there to buy a part he said he didn’t have it, turned around and muttered something very derogatory.
The owner is nasty, mean and extraordinarily difficult to deal with. Moreover, he lied about the condition of the item he sold to us. Do not do business with him. You will regret it.

I needed a toggle handle for my kayak but wasn’t even sure what it was called and was curious about paddle pricing (mine is too short). Gal there was very helpful with information and didn’t try to pressure me into anything. I’ll go back
