Belle Boudoir Photography

If you have the means, stop THINKING about getting boudoir photos through Belle Boudoir and DO IT. Cheryl is super professional and literally tells you which muscle to flex/​move/​adjust at what time until you look just right for the shot.
It may be odd, but I was most worried about my face. Like those photos taken of you where you thought you were getting your model face on, and later realized you look like you’re trying too hard… I was under the impression this requires serious training to master those tricky muscles! Not with Cheryl. The photos look awesome without the cheesiness/​overdramatic factor.
After researching most of what Seattle has to offer in the Boudoir photography realm Cheryl was a clear winner: lots of photographic styles to choose from (you can choose 6 outfits/​photo styles total) with a very timeless, classic look.
A few tips:
— Cheryl has a TON of fun outfits to choose from (more than what is shown in her pdf preparation guide I believe…) but I definitely recommend finding a few beautiful pieces you love and splurge a bit on. My suggestion for FANCY and GORGEOUS lingerie is Agent Provocateur. Suggestion for sexy and still awesome lingerie yet more affordable is NastyGal, Victoria Secret and ASOS.
— Prep your back for some serious arching. I’m a fit person, really I am… but I Felt It for a few days after. Some stretching/​massage after should do the trick.
— come with a few Pinterest boards of looks you’re interested in: Cheryl will do her best to make it happen. I brought in an amazing boudoir photo and we replicated it almost exactly and it is AMAZE-​balls.
— you might have an idea of what you want to spend, but be open to the possibility that you will love and need to have almost each and every photo taken of you in your life, forever. They are that good.

Cheryl is awesome! I’m the type of person that wears shorts and t shirts to cover my body while I swim. Doing a boudoir shoot was really a far stretch for me but once I walked into the wardrobe and picked out my outfits I started to feel comfortable. My shoot was such a self esteem booster. I loved all my photos and this experience made me more comfortable with myself. Cheryl does beautiful photos and her presentation/​packaging is extremely nice. She is definitely worth the price and you will be happy you did it.

Seriously gorgeous photography by Cheryl Jones. I wanted to get maternity photos done and since it’s winter in Seattle, I didn’t want to get pics done outdoors what with the weather being unpredictable and generally grey. I did some research and found that most studios have rather boring backgrounds for maternity photos. In addition, many of the photos were kind of cheesy. I’m so glad I came across Belle Boudoir. I wasn’t looking for boudoir maternity photos, but I thought Cheryl’s portfolio was simply stunning. If I could get just one good shot, I’d be happy.
Booking a session was easy as you can do it online and see her availability. Once booked, you will receive a super extensive guide on what to expect, suggestions on what to wear, pricing guide, etc. It is the most comprehensive and helpful brochure from a photographer that I have ever seen.
What I loved about the experience is that I didn’t have to worry about hair and makeup. That is part of the fees. Makeup and hair are done by a professional artist and it shows. My hair and makeup were done by Nikoma and looked fabulous. Just take a look at the ‘before and after’ section of Belle Boudoir’s website. The transformations are astounding. The other great thing is that I did not have to think about how to pose. If you’re a pro at posing then that’s great, but if you have no idea (like me), Cheryl will direct your every move for every single shot, down to the bend of your arm to the tilt of your chin. She knows what is a flattering angle.
I’m so grateful to Cheryl for making me look beautiful in the photos, which will be a special momento of my pregnancy. I thought I’d be buying a few photos but I ended up getting all the photos! I would love to come back post-​baby if I can get back in shape and do a non-​maternity session. Ladies: do this for your significant other, but more importantly, do this for yourself. You deserve it.

I wanted to give my fiancé pictures of me that could be presented to him the morning of our wedding. I looked around and decided to go with Cheryl at Belle Boudoir and am so glad I did. The whole experience was amazing! First I started off with Nikoma doing my hair and make-​up, she added clip-​ons to my hair & I asked for sexy make-​up, after she was done with everything I felt like a diva. Then Cheryl came to the studio and we looked over my outfits and she placed them in the order she felt would be best to shoot. I had some of my own (thanks to generous ladies at my bachelorette party) but also wore two of Cheryl’s and all the shoes from her closet for my different looks. I also used some of her jewelry, that’s what I loved is that you don’t have to buy a bunch of outfits because she has a great closet full of corsets, nighties, heels and jewelry you can wear.
Cheryl makes you feel right at home and not uncomfortable when she’s shooting. She knows how to position you so your body «situations» look great. After the shoot you leave for an hour while she goes through the pictures and does some initial editing. Then you come back and narrow down the pictures based on the few hundred she takes. It’s a daunting task because they all look great. I had my sister come to the studio to help me go through the photos, it helped to have a second opinion and I would suggest it.
I purchased the book, USB and canvas package. My fiancé couldn’t believe the book, he LOVED it! I also showed my girlfriends and they said it looked amazing. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to surprise their partner! I only wished I could’ve gone out after the shoot looking so glam but it was a Monday and I had to pick him up from the airport so had to wash my make-​up off.
P. S. the studio is really great, lots of different settings. You’ll love the experience!

You will not find anyone more talented than Cheryl in this area of photography. I am having my 6^th (and last) baby, and was not planning on doing maternity pics this time. In fact, I have spent the majority of this pregnancy hating my body, my weight, and the way I look right now– just feeling like an old, unsexy, has-​been mom. LOL, but it’s true. I decided to take the plunge only to commemorate the very last time I will be in this predicament (pregnant), and I cannot explain in enough words how happy I am that I did. From start to finish, the entire experience was fun, comfortable, and empowering. Getting hair and makeup done at the studio was super relaxing, I had Nikoma and she was fantastic. Cheryl and her team are experienced and talented professionals, and they know what looks good on camera and in print. I just put myself in their hands and crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. Not only did Cheryl make me feel completely at ease, but she gave me very specific directions for each pose. Totally helpful and welcome, and not what I expected at all (you know on TV when the cameraperson says «Feel it, give me a sexy look»… and if that were me, I’d be like WTF, how do I do that!!!) Well, there was none of that– she was gentle and very specific on what to do with my face, my body, my eyes… it was incredibly helpful. And the results completely astounded me– I I was literally expecting and hoping (based on how I felt about my body walking in there) to just simply get ONE pic that I liked. I’m here to tell you that I was AMAZED at the results. There was not one picture that I DIDN’T like!!! I could not believe it. It is SO empowering and such a confidence builder to see yourself so beautifully photographed. I ended up buying the entire package of images– I just could not believe how incredible she made me look, and ultimately feel about myself. I walked out of her studio proud of what my body could do– I felt like a beautiful giver of life to this baby and all my babies– and I felt proud to be a woman. I highly recommend this experience to any pregnant mama, any woman, of any age. Not only was the experience fun and enjoyable, it gave me the mental shift about my body that I needed more than I even knew. THANK YOU, CHERYL!!! So grateful. :)

I am a very awkward and unsexy person. But Cheryl is amazing and with her posing and guidance made me feel and look sexy! I couldn’t be happier with the results of my photoshoot. I searched through all the boudoir photographers in Seattle and decided I must work with her because her work is so tasteful… I was going for something that wouldn’t make me completely horrified if my future children accidentally dug up in the attic (not that I’m expecting that to happen) — something tasteful, that might be in GQ, beautiful, sexy, but not smutty or tacky. The leather bound book and flash drive were both of very high quality. I highly recommend using Cheryl if you are thinking about having boudoir photos taken!

I had Cheryl do my maternity photos in September. I know what you’re probably thinking… Boudoir maternity photos are usually tacky as hell… *In my opinion*, when it comes to boudoir style maternity photos, there is a fine line between looking like a hoochie-​mama and beached whale. But hear me out because the experience was so much fun, and I absolutely love my photos (and I don’t look like a hoochie-​mama OR a beached whale!)! Cheryl did an AMAZING job! My photos are artistic and tasteful, and I couldn’t be more happy with how they turned out!
The session itself was reasonably priced; approximately $ 300 for hair, makeup and about 2 hours of photography. I arrived at 10:00 in the morning for makeup and hair, which took about an hour. We went through my outfit choices, and then jumped right into the photo session. At the end of the session, Cheryl sent me out to go get lunch/​hang out for an hour while she touched up my best photos. After the hour break, I came back and we went through all of the photos together and discussed album pricing. I ended up ordering the leather bound album for my husband, and we couldn’t be more pleased with it! I’m not going to lie, it was not cheap; but I’m a firm believer in «you get what you pay for». In my opinion, the photography session and final product was definitely worth every penny.
Even though I live in Texas now, I do plan on traveling back to Seattle to do another session with Cheryl for ‘post baby’ photos when i’m done with recovery!

My first but for sure not my last Belle Boudoir Experience.
Cheryl and her team know exactly what they are doing! Getting down to your skivvies or less is uncomfortable for most but she knows what to do and how to make you relax. I cant thank Cheryl enough for the memories she gave me that day and helping me see what my husband sees in me. She has an AMAZING studio and all the accessories you can imagine. I have checked out other boudoir websites and Belle Boudoir is above and beyond. Her hair and makeup stylist also know what she is doing. I was going for a vintage look and Hot dang she was right on the mark. Thank you for this AMAZING experience! I will be back.

I had a lot of fun doing this after finally taking the plunge. Cheryl gives excellent direction and the pics turned out great. I haven’t received the final product yet, but unless they’re vastly different from what I’m expecting I stand by this review.
My suggestions for making it easier on yourself. 1) Try to pare down your outfit choices before you go. I went with way too many and then felt bad that some got left out despite having 6 «outfits». 2) It helps to bring examples of pics that you like to help establish the sort of mood and what you’re comfortable with. 3) make sure you eat something filling before you go, you don’t want to eat and mess up your make up or starve yourself.
I only had one (and a half) problems after I was done. There was too much hairspray in my hair (it was not so soft and shiny and I couldn’t run my fingers through it) and my make up was less natural than I was expecting when I saw the photos. My eyes looked amazing, but I’d hardly term the look «natural».
Definitely recommend it as something that every woman should try at least once. You’ll walk out feeling super-​sexy.

I went to Belle Boudoir for a mini shoot, and the experience was beyond amazing! My hair and makeup looked flawless! Cheryl was so easy to talk to and made me feel so comfortable! I was nervous about walking around in my underwear, but it was so fun! she told me exactly how to pose and where to look. I gave the pics to my husband as his welcome home from deployment gift! He loved them!

I had a fantastic experience! This was so fun and they made me look beautiful! The pictures turned out amazing, I couldn’t even believe they were me!!! It’s a must do before a wedding or at least once in your life. If you are considering it, Belle is very professional and Cheryl is so talented!

The actual photo session was fun (I say that now… when for real, I was undoubtedly nervous — only because, c’mon I was in my unmentionables!).
Cheryl is seriously SO nice and made me feel very comfortable. Not only was she wonderful to work with, she produced the MOST BEAUTIFUL photos. I still can’t believe that’s me in those photos — I look hot!
Will I do it again? You betcha! Gotta keep the hubby droolin ;)
If you are thinking about surprising your significant other with beautiful photos of yourself (or maybe you want to treat yourself to a bold and fun experience) I highly recommend Belle Boudoir.

I was very excited about this opportunity — not only was I going to be able to pamper myself and do something I never imagined I would do, but I was also going to end up with an amazing gift for my husband.
I signed up for the «marathon» session; pricing has since changed, but at the time, I paid $ 350 which included full hair and make-​up (however, false eyelashes were an additional $ 25 for some reason) and then 1.5 hour session with five outfit changes.
There was much confusion from the start — after I paid my desposit online, I had multiple emails from Cheryl (the photographer and owner of the business) as well as her assistant, regarding my appointment. Sometimes they would ask when I wanted to come, even though a date had already been established. Then I would get an email asking if I was still interested, even though, a deposit had been paid, and I had a standing appointment. Clearly, the business could use a little scheduling help.
When I went in for my session, it was great. I loved my hair, I loved my make-​up and I had a lot of fun during the session. Even though I was practically naked, I felt totally comfortable and at ease.
When I got my proofs to choose from, I loved them as well. The photos all turned out great — I never thought I could look that great and my husband was so excited and happy with them.
But that’s where I stopped liking the experience. When I ordered my product (a book with 8 images for $ 200+) there was squabbling over price with Cheryl. I was to get a 10% credit for doing the marathon session, which wasn’t applied correctly, until we had a string of 6 emails where I literally spelled out the math, and then, the discount was finally applied correctly.
I was also told that if I authorized use of my photos on her blog and website, I would get a disc of screen resolution (so, not to print, but just to look at) for free. Evidently, once you stop paying money, Cheryl stops making you a priroity. SHE SHOULD NOT OFFER THIS «GIFT» IF SHE CAN NOT FULFILL ON IT. I have now sent Cheryl four emails asking where my disk is. She ignored two of them and then responded to the one where I told her I was going to be writing my experience on Unilocal.She responded that she was working on it, but she had paid orders to fulfill. That was 2 weeks ago. Haven’t heard a word, and haven’t seen the disk. Which puts us at almost 2 months since she said I would have it «next week». I don’t imagine I will ever see it.
The bottom line: Cheryl needs a QUALITY assistant. She should just focus on photography, which she does well, and not on running a business, which she does not do well.
Until she can run her business properly, I can’t recommend using her. Despite her great photography, she falls apart on the critical aspect — customer satisfaction.

Cheryl Jones (Belle Boudoir) provides the ultimate pampering experience months before you reveal the results to your husband. Not only did the images give me a self-​esteem boost but it’s a perfect wedding day gift for my husband. She was caring and gracious from the start, and immediately made me feel thankful I made the choice to have these photos taken. I would recommend her, and this experience to any woman, pre-​marriage, pre-​baby, pregnant, post baby, one year wedding anniversary, 20 year wedding anniversary… It is a wonderful gift to yourself, and for your lover. I cannot wait to see his face when I give him this photo book, in the words of Cheryl «he’s going to flip».
