Bill’s Lock & Key is a mobile locksmith serving the greater Seattle area. We provide residential and business locksmithing, and security services from the repair of a single mailbox key to servicing a large apartment complex. We’re here to assist in all of your security needs!

At Bill’s Lock & Key attention to detail and quality of service are the primary goals of our business. All work is 100% guaranteed to your satisfaction.

We install and service all types of residential and commercial hardware, including knob sets, lever sets, handle sets and deadbolts. We make new keys, install and repair new and old locks and point of entry electronic locks. We also design, install and maintain master key systems.

I’d give Bill six stars if I could — it is such a Godsend to find a trusted and reputable locksmith in an industry that is swimming with sharks. Bill has replaced locks and improved security for my two homes and my in-​laws’ place. He arrives when scheduled, does amazing work, is generous with helpful advice and is very courteous.
Prior to discovering Bill by a referral, I was burned by a shady locksmith I found by searching by online map. A service that claimed a local address and company name sent an unlicensed person in an unmarked car. He removed all of my locks, put them in his car and then informed me it would be $ 500 to do the replacement. I was too frightened to even file a police report. No matter who you hire, make sure you do not fall for bait & switch scams like that one.
Bill is the real deal, he will always be the first person we call when improving our homes or increasing our security.

We just had Bill over to rekey a couple of doors, and we couldn’t be happier. Was no problem getting in contact with Bill, and he was right on time for our appointment. The price was extremely reasonable. The locks all work better than they did when I bought this place. Bill’s very friendly and professional… If we need more locks smithed, we’ll be calling Bill!

I cannot say enough good things about Bill. We got an estimate from another service that seemed unreasonably high. Bill did it at 1⁄3rd the price and helped us find the right solution for us. He made time in his schedule to come out for us after our third break-​in, even though his calendar was already booked. I actually wish I had more lock-​related needs so I could use Bill again. He’s the best!

You really don’t need to look further. Bill is great. He’s a straight shooter, with amazing work ethics, communications, including his rate. I used Bill for the house, as he changed out almost every door lock and hardware, both internal and external. Bill came by our home to fix a busted lock with very little notice. He stayed late until the job was done right. He insisted that we call him if we had any problems with it, though I doubt we’ll need to.

Unfamiliar with any locksmiths in the Maple Leaf/​Northgate area, I chose Bill’s Lock and Key based on his website and the reviews on Unilocal.Great decision! Thanks to his website I learned that I only needed the locks on our new home rekeyed, not completely replaced. Bill gave me a reasonable quote on the phone, and arranged for Emily to meet us at a time that was convenient for us.
Emily showed up on time, was very professional, cheerful and helpful, and did a meticulous job rekeying our locks. I highly recommend this company for their excellent service. It was a pleasure doing business with them, and if we need a locksmith in the future, we’ll be calling Bill again.

They did a fantastic job rekeying two locks and adding a deadbolt for a very fair price. They arrived on time, asked all necessary questions and we were completely satisfied with the results. I called Bill about the key on a glass-​sliding door. It was easy to schedule an appointment with him and he quoted a price that was more than reasonable, to make a housecall, and either rekey the lock or to make a key from the existing lock. He quoted $ 35. He has a good, honest, clean vibe. It took him no more than half an hour to perform the whole thing. I guess it was an easy job for him because he said that $ 15 would suffice. Cash paid and the lock and key work just fine.

Bill was recommended to re-​key the doors/​locks in our new home. When my boyfriend set up the appointment, he just said call me up and let me know the numbers on the key and I’ll know what I need to be prepared with. He arrived on time, and was done within 30 minutes, super fast! He was friendly and knowledgeable.
Not to sound like a broken record to the other reviews, but Bill gave us some advice on a couple of important things which we are going to strongly take into consideration to ensure safety in our new home. I would recommend Bill and his services to anyone who might be looking.

I wanted to find someone local and Bill’s Lock and Key did the trick. I called up and got speedy, efficient service. He even pointed out a few week spots in our basement door. We hired Bill to rekey our new home. He’s very knowledgeable, professional, and conscientious (he took off his shoes while he was inside our home). He managed to get our multi-​key home down to just two keys, and suggested what we could do ourselves to get down to just one. His prices are very reasonable too. He went above and beyond when he noticed a flaw with one of our doors, and fixed it free of charge. A repair that would have taken us forever to do took him ten minutes at most. We’ll use him again if we ever need a locksmith.

Truly better than I expected. I have a 100+ year old house with a front door thumb lock mechanism that I thought would truly have to be replaced-​even though it’s beautiful. I called Bill’s Lock and he was able to restore it. He was careful, efficient and positive. He re-​keyed our deadbolts as well and they work better than they ever have. He even called to check up on whether the cat could go out (it could). It can be hard to get someone to help with vintage house issues, so I was extremely pleased with these results. Reasonable price too.

I have known Bill for over 10 years. He has always been kind and thoughtful as well as extremely professional. He offered our chiropractic/​massage office a great solution to our constantly needing to change the locks when an employee moved on. He recommended a number/​key pad that we could change, instead of changing our locks when an employee left (purely a compliance measure — HIPAA, nothing to do with our wonderful employees). This cost Bill income in the future (not needing to change our locks again), but it was the right solution for us. It would never occur to him not to recommend the right tools for us, and we cherish that integrity… as well as his lovely smile.
