Blue Geisha Tattoo

I have never done any type of piercing that didn’t involve the earlobes. I’ve been searching for a place that had great reviews in terms of piercing. I found that Blue Geisha Tattoo had many great reviews but I couldn’t find any posts in relation to piercings. WELL, fear no more this is post about my piercing experience! I called ahead to see if it requires an appointment, FYI: CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT! (Even though in the info section it says it doesn’t, do it anyways). The lady on the phone was extremely nice and professional.
I do not know much about piercings and I wanted to get a piercing on the upper part of my ear (somewhat of a helix?). I scheduled an appointment that same day with Katie Beth, who might I say is A M A Z I N G. I am the kind of person who asks a lot of dumb questions (or things I felt should have been common sense to know) and Katie Beth who only expressed genuine kindness and patience, was more than willing to answer and accommodate. She wanted to sure make I felt good about the placement, so we had to mark down my ear a couple of times, even if I wanted it a millimeter higher than where it was, she was happy to do so. She was careful and gentle! The piercing itself hurt like hell, but regardless to the lack of pain tolerance I have, she was very careful and gentle. She placed the first one on so well, I already want to pierce another one on top because that’s how confident it made me feel. Katie Beth was very informative about what I needed to do to care for it as it heals, she even insisted to call her as many times as I needed because «there are no stupid questions.»
Overall: You walk in feeling very welcomed. You’re in there feeling very assured. There is no sense of judgement, the environment and atmosphere is great. You leave the place feeling like a BOSS! Or at least that’s how I felt. Thanks again Katie Beth, you’re awesome!!!

Got two tattoos done by Chris Hunter. Chris was very patient and receptive to all my ideas, and made suggestions, without being pushy, to make my tattoos more unique. He is really good with color tattoos in particular.
Rates were reasonable. Everyone who works at Blue Geisha are really friendly and courteous.

Everyone was super helpful and friendly and the shop is really clean and professional. Curtis squeezed me in to his schedule and I walked out with one of the most beautiful tattoos I have ever seen. He was super creative and really cared about what I wanted and if I was happy with how it turned out. It was exactly what I wanted and I couldn’t have asked for better honestly. I showed him a picture that I liked and he gave me a tattoo that looked pretty much 100% the same as the picture. I love this place and will definitely be back for my next tattoo!

I am always stopping strangers on the street to ask about their tattoos. The last three people I admired told me Chris Hunter was their artist. After seeing his work in person and online I scheduled a consultation with him at Blue Geisha.
Chris is kind, knowledgeable and had great suggestions to enhance my tattoo. I brought in an actual matryoshka nesting doll and the drawing he created was awesome. We powered through my forearm piece in one sitting and he was fun to talk and joke with. Getting a tattoo, for me, is an intimate experience and I enjoyed the conversation with Chris a lot. The tattoo healed quickly and Chris’ post-​care instructions were on point. I returned a couple months after complete healing and everyone came out to admire it. The folks at Blue Geisha seem to really support and care about each artists’ work.
Most recently I had a piercing done by Beeker. She was very kind and explained everything she would do before doing it. I can sit hours for a tattoo but turn into a scaredy cat for simple piercings. She was calming and quick and fun to chat with. So far the piercing is healing nicely and this has been, by far, the best piercing experience I’ve had.
The other artists and staff at Blue Geisha always say hi when I’m waiting. I really appreciate the kindness from them and always leave feeling like I was welcome and appreciated. Highly recommend this shop!

Got an awesome (to me) bit of kanji ink done by Joey at Blue Geisha Tattoo two weeks ago. Have a friend who has had lots of work done, had him suggest what to look for, and Blue Geisha had it all: clean floors, clean work area, lots of the artists’ individual work on display (not just the «canned tat books») and friendly competent staff.
Joey’s work is very clean and clear, he was quick, careful and very thorough. Had TV on to distract me while he was working (it is my first tattoo) but he stayed focused on me and the work the whole time. Very personable and chatted to me about what I wanted and what I was thinking long term? Joey suggested slightly upsizing the work so that it looked more natural on my shoulder and I am very glad that he did, would have been way too small otherwise.
I will be going back in the next month or so to have him put a bear on the other shoulder.
I can’t recommend Joey or the staff at Blue Geisha Tattoo highly enough, great folks, great atmosphere, great work!

Went here to get my first tattoo recently and Joey is the artist who did me over. Very talented, very friendly, and very easy to talk to. I wasn’t sure exactly what I was doing since it was my first tat but he was extremely helpful throughout the whole process and, without getting frustrated, drew the image over and over until it was exactly what I wanted. The tattoo took about 30 minutes to ink. He also offered to touch it up for free in the future. He charged me the minimum which was $ 60 before tax.

This place is the bee’s boobs. The staff are super courteous and really warm and welcoming. I started going to Blue Geisha earlier this year and today went in for a second consult with Chris Hunter for some new work.
In a time where tattoo shops are no longer the rarity but the norm, shops that don’t keep up great work and great customer experience are bound to fall to the wayside. Blue Geisha will not suffer that fate.
I recommend the bejesus out of that place!

I got a tattoo done by Chris. He was really helpful with placement and only started tattooing when he knew it looked perfect! It’s nice to have an artist who actually wants to make sure it’s right and not just get it over with. He was also really funny. Everyone was welcoming and helpful and made you feel comfortable. The prices are great especially for the incredible work these guys do. I will be going here from now on and would highly recommend.

Professional, courteous, friendly, talented artists, great shop with tons of style and atmosphere. I was nervous getting my second tattoo after over ten years. Woods made me feel comfortable, the experience was as relaxing as could be, and the art turned out better than I imagined. My ex wife and daughter had work done there and referred me, and I’m very glad they did.

Went back to blue geisha to get tattooed from Caitlin. My boyfriend and I both picked one of her drawings. We are both thrilled. She did and awesome job. Again the whole staff was helpful and friendly. The environment was cozy and clean. We will be back again for more soon!

I just got my navel pierced here by Beeker! Everyone was very friendly and able to answer any questions that I had. She made me feel more comfortable about the process. I am definitely coming back here when I get my nose pierced in the future. The tattoos do seem a bit pricey but you obviously get what you pay for! So if I ever decide to get one, I’ll be coming back here :)

I’m giving this shop 5 stars a here’s why– this place is clean, professional, and has great artists. You know sometimes when you go into a tattoo parlor and you feel just completely out of place? You won’t feel like that here; everyone is friendly, welcoming, and genuinely nice. I am definitely not a tattoo newbie, but I’m pretty shy and they made me feel at ease. I’ve gone to two different guys and my boyfriend has gone to another one, and each time we have had a great experience. Rates are standard but service, I think, is superior. I’ve made appointments and have gotten work done on a walk in, and am totally looking forward to my future visits. Thank you Blue Geisha!

Got my first tattoo from Jake last weekend. Jake put me at ease right away. He helped take a design I had and adapted it to my arm and nailed it. The entire experience was comfortable and pleasant. The price seemed more than fair to me. I’m simply thrilled and will go back! Thanks Jake!

Zach did a cover up for me that is beyond amazing felt so comfortable and relaxed. Both my wife and I got tattoos by him simply amazing.

My husband and I are so happy about our experience at Blue Geisha Tattoo! The first time we walked in to check it out there were a few employees at the front desk and they were all very welcoming and friendly. We chatted with Caitlin about the work we were thinking of (wedding ring tattoos, a flower piece on my foot, and a larger piece for my husband’s back). Caitlin was immediately excited to talk about the pieces and gave us some good ideas and honest feedback right away.
We scheduled the rings and my foot tattoo with Caitlin, and my husband scheduled a consult with Woods for his back piece.
Caitlin is so detailed in her work! She did a great job of talking me through the process and explaining which areas might feel differently as my tattoo was being done. She is friendly and fun to talk to. My tattoo is beautiful — the color is amazing and I’m thrilled with it! The rings are great, perfect size and level of detail. I also really appreciate that Caitlin offers free touch-​ups, just in case!
My husband had a great experience with Woods during the consultation. Woods gave him lots of ideas and helped him narrow down the scope of the design. He’s scheduled to being the piece in a couple of weeks.
The shop is very clean and well-​kept. They do accept walk-​ins, but if there’s a particular artist you’d like to work with it’s best to schedule an appointment. I
love that the staff checks in with each other and openly admires each others’ work. Caitlin said they are like a big family, which definitely comes across in the way they interact. The prices are extremely reasonable considering the level of artistry and care.

First, let me say that Woods is a man of integrity. Although in the beginning there were a couple scheduling snafus, he went above and beyond to set everything straight. Next, I have to say Woods is an artist on a different plane. He sees things in a different way, and what comes out on the other side of his needle is inspired genius. Yes. He’s that good.
Here’s my experience.
I’d had a design in my mind for a sleeve for years (13, actually), but had been holding out for the perfect artist at the perfect time. I was wary and hesitant when I started talking to Woods. Although I’d heard of the shop’s good reputation, I wanted to find out for myself what was going on there.
So I consulted with Woods and showed him my arm already had some pieces on it. He was cutthroat honest and said it would be a huge challenge to create a sleeve with flow and proper composition that wouldn’t turn out to be a jumbled mess. He actually seemed kind of stressed about how he was going to even be able to make it work. He was completely frank and told me he didn’t know if what I wanted was possible. And that was the second I realized this might very well be the man who was going to create my sleeve. It became totally clear he’s not after the money. He’s after the art. He didn’t bullshit me. He was honest.
I almost cancelled because I was just plain nervous my sleeve wouldn’t turn out perfect. Woods talked me through the process and shared his vision with me. He added to the vision of my sleeve in ways that took it to an entirely new and amazing level. He gained my complete trust.
The pictures tell the rest of the story. I have had my sleeve six days now, and not a day has gone by that I haven’t been stopped and received complements (twice today, actually). My friends are more than impressed, and people I’ve known for years and have known what I’ve wanted tell me it’s perfect, and exactly what I’d always described — and even more.
While tattooing me Woods was easy to talk to and down to earth. I’ve had work done by guys who didn’t talk the whole time and treated me like I wasn’t cool enough to be under their needle. That’s not Woods.
A bit about the facilities. The shop is in a two story home. The lobby has an amazing flatscreen and surround sound system that makes the place feel comfortable. The art on the walls is awesome. The artists all have their own rooms and the place is busy. The whole house was clean, the rooms are all well-​lit, the floors are all shiny, and the bathroom was immaculate (and a clean bathroom says it all, you know what I mean?).
All of the employees are super chill and they talk to each other like they’re family. Like they’re all cousins or something. They all want to know how each other are doing, how the tattoo they’re working on looks, and they explain to each other the techniques they’re using and why. They talk like they’re artists. It was pretty cool to see, and honestly, it’s the kind of place all of us dream of working.
I’m going back to get the last of the color filled in in a couple months (Woods is booked out a couple months, but that’s what happens when you offer superior work, right?). I am already looking forward to getting started on my next piece.
If you’re hesitant, cautious, and wary of egomaniacs that will remind you you’re not as cool them, and slap embarrassing crap on your skin, you have nothing to worry about here. This place is the real deal, totally legit, and cannot be more highly recommended.
I get to wear on my arm for the rest of my days not just exactly what I’ve always wanted, but what is even *better* than I could have ever even imagined. Blue Geisha Tattoo and Woods earn an A+.

I’ve been to many tattoo shops over the years, and across the country. This is probably my favorite. Everyone is so lovely, and warm, and welcoming.
I’ve been tattooed by Jake twice now. We did a decent sized piece on my thigh. When we talked about what I wanted, he was excited and made me feel good about my choice. He made a couple changes to the drawing that I had brought in, and made the piece even better. The second piece I had done was a little banger, a matching pizza tattoo with my boyfriend. My boyfriend wasn’t super set on the idea until Jake had drawn up a slice that fit his personality perfectly.
I’ve also been tattooed by Caitlin. She is by far one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met in my life. We just did a couple hearts and they’re so cute. I love them so much, and they’ve healed perfectly. I can’t wait to get more work done by her.
Every single portfolio has amazing work, so no matter what you want, you should be able to find an artist at Blue Geisha that can handle what you need.

This is the best tattoo shop hands down. Curtis has been tattooing me for over 2 years and I cannot walk down the street without getting compliments. The quality of work is fantastic! Everyone at this shop is an artist first and they instantly make you feel like family. Love these guys and the shop.

I am in the process of getting a large back piece of two goddesses done with Woods, and my experience so far has been fantastic.
When I first came in the staff was welcoming and pleasant. I explained I was researching tattoo artists and they helped me look through the portfolios of various artists and set up a consultation with Woods (the owner).
During my consult I was impressed with the way Woods listened to my ideas and made suggestions for how they might work with my body. I previously had only one small tattoo, and he took a lot of time to explain what would be involved in doing such a large colorful piece, from time to pain to cost expectations. I could tell he wasn’t just interested in making money — he wanted to make sure I understood what I was getting myself into and he wanted it to be good work.
The day I went in for the mapping went really well. I loved Woods’s interpretation of the two goddesses (Minerva and Saraswati) I had requested, and I could tell from the way he talked about why he made certain artistic choices that he had researched the symbolism and art history involved. He explained everything that would happen throughout the day (it was a 5 hour sitting). He had a nice balance between understanding I am a tattoo novice without making me feel stupid or unwelcome!
I am very happy with the result of my first session. The precision and attention to detail is quite apparent. I’d highly recommend this shop to anyone, whether you’re looking to do a small tattoo or start a large project.

I have a new crush! Her name is Caitlin Stairs. She is the super sweet and spirited red-​head who touched-​up my tattoos last weekend. Being new (ish) to the neighborhood, I wanted to support a local shop but had no idea where to go. Thanks to my Unilocal friends, I chose Blue Geisha (5 stars!). And as long as I’m a Washington resident, I will always choose Blue Geisha.
From their initial e-​mail reply to in-​person encounters with the staff, including my experience with Caitlin the inker (she is so gentle!) and Beeker the body piercer (last minute jewelry addition) — I am convinced this is THE nicest tattoo place in the country! You will never feel uncool or patronized here.
On the contrary, get ready to meet your new best friends.
