I’ve been having acupuncture done for years, along with massage and physical therapy. Getting treated at Blue Pearl with acupuncture, lifestyle changes, and cupping, I have never felt better and have never felt so positive about the improvements my body was making. I have chronic neck and shoulder pain (I work off a laptop all day, every day), and I feel the treatment I’m getting from Keri is comprehensive. Comprehensive in terms of the acupuncture and cupping treatments, but also in terms of understanding why my body is in pain, things I can do at home to make it better, etc.

With Keri, she talks you through the process, the benefits, the reasoning behind her approach to your treatment. She listens to you and what you are comfortable with. Not just doing what she thinks is best and moving on.
*Customer Service Oriented. You can tell Keri likes what she does by the service she provides. I feel like she must almost be a like mental therapist because she really cares about her patients and is always asking them about their lives. She’s also very flexible and works with you and any insurance issues you may have. She’s always been willing to help me navigate my insurance questions, making my life so much easier! If I ever need to reschedule or move my appointment around or get in for a last minute appointment, she’s always willing to find a way to make it work. I thoroughly appreciate that. I appreciate not going to a provider and feeling like I’m just another patient; and Keri makes the difference.
Bottom line: the results speak for themselves. Why is she constantly busy? Because she knows what she’s doing, she listens to what you want and need, and her treatments provide proven results. She doesn’t up-​sell you to get you coming back, she is one of the good guys out there just providing excellent care and treatment. I wish all my doctors were like Keri!

Keri was recommended to me by my chiropractor.
She was great in helping me through sinus infections (herbs), asthma (acupuncture), and migraines (acupuncture and cupping). She really takes the time to explain what she is doing and steps I can take to improve my health. She has a great memory and genuinely cares about her patients. If you need to make a last minute appointment she will do her best to accommodate you. Her office on beautiful Lake Union has a calming set up and she usually has some kind of ginger candy or tea if you have low blood sugar.
Appointments with Keri is in my top 5 list of things I miss about Seattle.

By the time I got to Keri Shaw I had been through months of chiropractic, physical therapy, and massage care. After getting an MRI that didn’t pinpoint the exact cause of the intensification of previously mild back pain radiating into my hips and down my legs, my orthopedic surgeon recommended that I try an acupuncturist. OMG!!! I’m thankful to him for being progressive enough to recommend acupuncture and to my naturopath for giving me Keri’s name months before when my back pain was isolated to my back. Keri is a healer. Yes, there are techniques that acupuncturist learn and use that Keri has mastered. But, more importantly, Keri uses modalities that CAN’T be taught. She masterfully locates the places where energy is blocked and tight in the body and uses the needles to calm and release that energy. It’s like getting an acupuncture/​Reiki treatment simultaneously. She has the sensibility of someone well versed in Reiki and the technique of an acupuncturist. Add to that her compassion, wit, professionalism, consciousness, utter sweetness and ability to be in tune with the issues her clients are grappling with and I have an acupuncturist for life – to diffuse the ways in which life becomes embodied. When I first visited Keri I was about an 8 on the pain spectrum. After just a couple of months my pain decreased to a 3 – 4. Keri promised that if she couldn’t improve my quality of life she would bow out– and she kept her promise. Keri Shaw is a gifted and effective acupuncturist and her office is Zen like and welcoming just like her. I will continue to rely on Keri for any issues that arise in the future.

Keri Shaw at Blue Pearl is nothing short of amazing! I have been to several acupuncturists, but once I discovered Kari, I will not go anywhere else! I hope she never moves her practice out of Seattle! She does a thorough intake and expertly does here work and communicates well. Once she has the needles in, and leaves me to «cook», I usually slip into REM sleep within minutes, and wake up feeling more rested than after a full night’s sleep. And the effects are astounding. VERY helpful! Also, her office is beautiful, tranquil, AND right on the water. Kari and her location and environment just couldn’t be better! And btw, there is a parking lot on meters, not an expansive private lot.

I found Keri through Unilocal and the helpful reviews posted here. I had a severe ankle injury from soccer that I was going through Physical Therapy to help my recovery. However, having Type 1 Diabetes, I was running into problems reducing the swelling around the ankle joint. My PT Trainer recommended to couple PT with acupuncture and I was fortunate to have found Keri and her practice.
What makes Keri stand out is her understanding of the practice as well as her willingness to work with the trainer to develop a plan to help my ankle recover. I had been in PT for two months prior to seeing Keri, but after the first session the swelling subsided significantly. It was a jaw dropping experience for someone who has been surrounded by western medicine for 20+ years as a diabetic. Keri understood the risks with treating the ankle itself (because of diabetic circulation issues and potential to introduce additional problems) so she looked for ways to treat that area via focusing on other parts of the body that are the mirror. She connected with my PT frequently and we combined exercises with acupuncture therapy.
Keri was professional throughout the time I worked with her to get me back up and working. Within two weeks of coupling Keri’s practice with PT I was able to regain full range of motion, and shortly thereafter I was able to start jogging again!
I highly recommend Keri and will continue to use her services into the future.

I really like Keri and I wish I could hang out with her outside of acupuncture! She is so nice and friendly and makes me feel really comfortable. Somehow I fall asleep every time she puts needles in me.

I have walked in here bent over with back pain and walked out like it had never happened. Dr. Shaw also provides super effective Chines herbal medicine for hormonal balance, sleep issues, allergies — the list goes on. I highly recommend her.

I am a huge fan of Kerri and her service. I am very fit from a cardio point of view, so when i injured my neck and back i entered a very dark, tough time in my life. Injuries are really tough things to handle in todays modern world. My MD prescribed pain killers, and more pain killers! I knew that they only address the symptom and not the cause, and so i decided to throw a mix of Chiropractic, PT and Acupuncture at the problem! This combination has been great for me, and Kerri is an amazing listener, really cares about her patients, and goes out of her way to provide as much comfort as possible. I highly recommend her! I also love the location. Her studio looks out on the water, and boats of Lake Union… Very nice!

I have suffered from insomnia for the past 8 or so years. After relocating to Seattle from the east coast, I wanted to try to also settle in on a more comfortable lifestyle in the Pacific Northwest. People have always recommended acupuncture to me, but needles terrified me and I always thought seeing an acupuncturist was like visiting a witch doctor.
After reading Unilocal reviews, Keri Shaw seemed like the perfect option for me to try out acupuncture for the first time. I was terrified, but was willing to try anything to not have to depend on Ambien anymore. Upon arrival at her office, an instant calm came about. It is very zen and the water views of Lake Union make each visit even more relaxing.
Keri explained the entire process to me and answered all of my dumb questions — putting my anxiety to rest. She also takes the time to get to know you, and treats you like a good friend. I am happy to report, that after a few visits, I now sleep like a champ! It’s actually pretty crazy that it was that simple!

Keri is amazing. I was lucky enough to come across her giving quick sessions at South Lake Union Women, Wine and Wellness. I was always afraid of acupuncture, but I thought I’d try it.
I’ve had bad jaw pain for over 10 years. I grind my teeth nightly and get extreme tightness from stress. I’ve tried it all, PT, medication and even massage. Acupuncture has proved to be the only way to maintain a low level of pain in my jaw.
Keri has also treated me for anxiety and stress. The benefits are immediate.
Keri is an extremely knowledgeable practitioner with an amazing ability to create a meaningful relationship with her patients. I am sadly moving out of state and will miss her very much. I will still contact her when I need herbs.

Becoming a patient at Blue Pearl Acupuncture and working with Keri Shaw has completely changed my life. I cannot praise Keri’s work enough, and I wholeheartedly recommend her. She was able to treat it! I was completely amazed. Another example is that I injured my wrist/​base of my hand in a Pilates class. Keri was able to relieve the pressure, and I felt so much better.

I came to Keri based on a referral from my Chiro. I didn’t have anything particularly pressing or any issues that I thought of, but was curious about Acupuncture, and found out my insurance covered 12 visits per year, so I thought I would go check it out.
All the reviews are spot on — Keri is absolutely fantastic. She put me totally at ease, and spent a substantial amount of time answering my questions the first time I met her. She’s light hearted and fun, and does a great job of helping you understand the process of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.
ALthough I didn’t think I really needed acupuncture for anything, I mentioned that I had always been frustrated by my bad skin. I’m 28 and have had acne since puberty off and on. Keri informed me without hesitation that she could clear that right up — something that no doc, dermatologist, face wash, voodoo dances, etc. has ever accomplished. Sure enough, after a very thorough analysis of my lifestyle, diet, exercise, general mood and energy, she helped make some very minimal changes to my diet (Seeya, Dairy) as well as a custom mix of herbal tea to drink every day. Three weeks later — I haven’t had skin this clear since I was 9 years old.
Highly reccomended — go see her, whether Acupuncture is old hat for you or you’re just curious about what it’s all about. She’s fantastic.

I have worked with Keri for several years now. I have a chiropractic clinic in the same neighborhood. Keri @ Blue Pearl Acupuncture has saved me! In more ways than one… The most recent experience I had was the herbs that she prescribed for me. I had a canker sore outbreak in my mouth. I can’t even begin to describe to you how severe those sores were. I couldn’t eat or drink without completely numbing my mouth. I couldn’t even talk. The sores were on my tongue and all over the inside lining of my mouth. I saw my dentist first, and then a MD. They were unable to help me. I was informed that there is no ‘cure’ for canker sores and I would have to wait for them to heal. Why didn’t I think to go see my acupuncturist? She told me she could help, and she did. Within 3 days of taking my prescribed herbs from Keri, my mouth healed up. When I forgot to take my herbs, they slowly came back. So I know it was the herbs that helped me. I’m completely healed now, thanks to Blue Pearl Acupuncture.
On a side note, I have seen Keri for the past year for multiple reasons. She has helped me with anxiety, depression, menstrual cramping/​pain, etc. The list goes on! I take herbs daily and I also receive Acupuncture treatment once a week.

What can I say about Keri Shaw and Blue Pearl that hasn’t been said before? It’s all true, from the tranquil views of Lake Union to the amazing treatments to the high level of professionalism and care.
Keri started treating me with Chinese herbs about a year ago. While I was initially skeptical (as with any new treatment) the results have been amazing! She treats the underlying causes of symptoms, not just the symptoms themselves. I have never experienced these results from any other treatments or medications. In less than a year I feel like a new person and my pain and anxiety are just a memory.
After balking at the thought of Accupuncture needles I finally took the plunge a few months ago. I wish I had started sooner! It is that good. Combining the herbs with Accupuncture has been an eye opening experience. For anyone who has never had Accupuncture, you have to try it! The results will astound you. And trust me the needles aren’t that bad. Even if you don’t like needles, it quickly becomes an enjoyable experience.
Rarely have I had the pleasure of finding someone as professional and caring as Keri. With her help I am the healthiest I have ever been. I have to say that I was a bit skeptical at first. A friend told me to try acupuncture and I said I’ll try. Well, I did. I found Keri on Unilocal and I’m glad I did. Keri spent 2 and ½ hours with me and found out for me that my insurance covers 50% of the cost. I had a neck pain and lower back pain and other health issues. I have not have any back pain since then. My neck pain has gone away for a long time and I hardly crack my neck anymore. I sleep better. My neck pain is coming back but not as bad as before and I know it will takes time to heal. I have not taken a muscle relaxant cyclobenzaprine since I met Keri.

I have suffered from chronic low back pain for well over 10 years now. I’ve been a very athletic and active person all my life and have worked in very strenuous jobs since I was 20. Now I’m 42 and I have 4 ruptured lumbar discs. No good deed goes unpunished!
Before coming to Blue Pearl I tried many avenues for pain relief and some semblance of a normal life which eventually lead to antidepressants, pain pills and potent anti-​inflammatories; all of which I would take disdainfully every day just to get by. Until I met Keri, I didn’t feel optimistic about my future. I had already made lots of changes to my lifestyle and profession but I could not dig myself out of frequent spasms and acute pain with exercise.
Weekly acupuncture for the last several months has helped me to the extent where I no longer take a SSRI (antidepressant), and I have cut my pain medication by 60%. My discomfort at rest has dropped from a baseline of 6 out of 10 down to a pretty consistent 1 – 2. I can be active for longer periods than before and am starting to make some headway with exercise again. I had a persistent and very uncomfortable skin issue. For almost three years I sought help through dermatologists, specialists, naturopaths, and alternative medicine.
