). ‘Nuff said, but I’ll say more because if you’re even considering living here, you ought to know what you’re getting into.
If you’re looking for an apartment, don’t be lured in by the cheap price, run far away. The dead vines remaining on the side of the building, the broken mailboxes that just hang open, peeling paint, and cat urine smell should give it away immediately that this place is not well maintained.
The WHOLE building has a long-​standing cockroach infestation problem. They’re in the walls. One resident told me that their place had been treated multiple times and the roaches were still there.
The apartment setup is not secure by any stretch of the imagination: anyone can get inside the complex by climbing up onto the walkway on the second level. I know this because that’s how someone got into my apartment to steal some of my stuff.
I wanted to like the landlady, but it’s clear that she is in over her head, and not built for this job. She never took responsibility for things that went wrong, and always blamed someone else. She claimed ignorance about the cockroaches, when it is very clear from the other tenants that this was a long-​standing problem, and she was actually naïve enough to think that her tenants were obeying the rules about smoking, despite the cigarette butts floating around the place.
Oh, and none of the outlets are grounded, so you have to buy adapters if you want to use any three-​pronged plugs.
Pros: Gorgeous neighborhood, cheap price, right along the 49 route, allows pets
Cons: Roaches, rusty pipes, bad landlady, horrible maintenance, complex is not secure
