Brown Bear Car Wash

I have come to this location two or three times before and the service is usually pretty good. But this particular time it was awful. There were three attendants working and not one of them was available to guide drivers into the wash. The woman before me was able to navigate her way in by herself. I was not so lucky. In Brown Bear Attendants’ defense I probably didn’t wait long enough before entering, and I did not engage into neutral when I should have. Yes, operator error. I get that, and it probably happens several times a day, which is probably annoying to the attendants. But every other time I have gone to this, and other Brown Bear locations there has always been somebody there to guide and direct me onto the track.
I pulled onto the track, trying to «feel» when my car caught when the attendant finally came over and directed me to the right so that I was on the track. By this time I had forgotten that I was still in drive, and inches away from hitting the other car, the man yells Stop. Fair enough. He has me hold my brakes until the car catches on the track, but there a million «don’t brake» signs everywhere so that was a moment of panic in itself. And then he tells me that I should roll up my window. Thank you. I didn’t realize that I should do that when going through a car wash. Never mind that I had it rolled down for communication purposes while you and the other attendants were gawking at the windshield of another car. As a person that works in customer service, I understand that problems arise at work. And I understand that some problems are interesting and distracting. What I don’t understand why every single person was standing around and looking at the problem, while customers were not being helped.

Use this car wash every day you can buy a monthly pass for $ 20 and you get unlimited carwashes which is pretty cool especially when you live right next to it right before I go there and get my car washed and instant. There’s no better deal around Seattle trust me I checked. And stuff is really friendly helpful.

Love brown bear car wash. This is the only place I go to for my car wash. They probably won’t get your rims as clean as you’d like but that’s what you get when you use a car wash machine. they don’t detail cars. If you’re looking for a quick and cheap wash, go here!

Racial profiling is alive and well at this Lake City Way Brown Bear location. I visited the car wash on a busy evening on June 15 2015. After waiting in line for a long time due to the volume of customers I was accused by the staff of not paying when my car finally made its way to the front. I paid just like everyone else and normally go there 2 – 3 times per month paying anywhere from 11 – 15 per wash, that means they get about 45 per month from me, but not anymore. I am not even sure how a car could not pay and sneak in and being the only non-​white guy in line that day I find it incredibly awful that I would be singled out accused of not paying while the staff told me to open my door to check for some «sticker». He then asked me for my card and told me it was my fault for not having a receipt. Keep in mind their machines often don’t give a receipt after running your card through. Horrible service, horrible ethics, horrible business.

Came at 7:22pm, they had closed down the wash… ummm, I though you guys closed at 8pm. Pretty disappointed.

*8 bucks? good deal for a drive through with all the suds and water you need for a quick clean
*always tip the attendant, they work hard and will give you a little extra love with the brush on your backside
*remind yourself that this is actually more environmentally friendly than washing all your suds down your drain at your house

Omg! Saved my life! Sap all over my car and by hand took it off and gave me a free extra wash to save my paint job!

This car wash is so convenient, I had to give it five stars. My go-​to in North Seattle since it’s pretty well priced. It’s an automated car wash, so it goes really quickly. You don’t have a person hand scrubbing your car, but I feel like it gets the job done pretty consistently — after the last time I went, I noted that even the wheel wells had been cleaned.
$ 7 for a basic wash/​dry and then there are some other more deluxe $ 9 and $ 11ish options. If you save your receipts, you can get a free car wash with 10 of them. I haven’t gotten stuck here when there is a huge line, but the queue seems to go pretty quickly so I don’t think you would wait that long even if you saw 5 or 6 cars in line.

We’ve been coming to this drive-​thru Brown Bear since it was built a couple of years ago. My daughter loves the bear statues and is no longer scared to travel through the car wash. They do a great job and at a great price. TIP: Fred Meyer has coupons on the back of their receipts for $ 1-​$ 3 off depending on they type of wash you get. TIP 2: Save 10 receipts and get a free wash!

I went there today and a few months back. One car was washed fine and the other badly.
If your car has a back windshield wiper, then the tunnel car wash tries to rip it off and it pushes the wiper off the glass and the wiper does not work perfectly after that. This was the VW Golf Hatchback.
If your car has no wiper on the back end, then it is ok. This was the Geo Metro hatchback car we own. Also the wheel rims are shallow and flat so the auto wash does clean those ok.
The basic car wash does not remove tree sap, but it does remove bird poop well. Also the basic wash does not clean the VW Golf wheel rims as they are deep.
The car wash has a barrel of towels to use to dry your car, but there is only room for one or two cars to dry the car after the wash. When I came out of the car wash today, there were already two cars still drying there so I just drove home and used my own rags instead.
I will use the self-​wash location on 145^th from now on for the VW Golf.

This place was great. They are reasonably priced and the manager that was there stayed open a few minutes late for me, since it was my first time and I didn’t know when they closed. My only wish is that the vacuums were free with a wash, like my old place. The vacuums are 4 minutes for $ 1 here. Other than that it was great!

How Now Brown Bear
I was on a serious hunt for a Brown Bear. This was my third stop since who knew some Brown Bear’s were self service. This one is a drive through wash. I have the one year of free washes thanks to my new Subaru from Carter in Ballard (see the salesman Bryan DeAnda — he’s awesome). I think with any car wash I would’ve ended up with the wash marks on my black car from the scraping of dirt in a circular motion. I think I asked for it with buying a black car. The car was clean as a whistle. The workers were nice and efficient. My partner uses this car wash all the time and likes it a lot too.

I love this car wash.
The employees are always friendly and the Bear Best Wash is very good. Yes, it’s $ 13 but you can use $ 3 off coupons on the back of store receipts which makes it more reasonable.

I have been a regular customer and visit the car wash often. The service has always been great and the personnel very friendly and professional. They are also always great about honoring the coupons on the back of the Fred’s receipt which make the wash a great value.
I had an incident where my antenna broke off of my car. Kenny the manager was great about taking responsibility and resolving the incident in a timely manner. I am very impressed and happy with their service. Needless to say, customer for life.

So my car was filthy from being parked at the airport for 2 weeks & I couldn’t stand it for another minute. Saw the coupon on the back of my FM receipt & said why not.
Was a little shocked by the price. Even after $ 1 off Beary Basic was still almost $ 6 with tax. But the result was worth it. Clean shiny car including the wheels!

I live around the area, when the construction was mid-​way when they were still building this car wash, I thought in my head, «Great, another Brown Bear?» There were already 2 Brown Bear car wash located in a very close proximity. After the place opened, I found myself very glad, unlike the other two Brown Bear that’s actually a self-​serve, this one has the tunnel automatic car wash. I don’t usually wash my car myself because I suck at it, I usually went to a Chevron carwash which had always been just barely satisfactory.
Anyway just the other night I decided to try Brown Bear tunnel car wash. I drove and saw that there was nobody around and I wondered in my head how the whole thing was gonna work without any assistance from another human being. I continued driving then stopped at a gated entrance just next to a machine to pick if I wanted to buy a Brown Bear membership or a carwash. Since I don’t wash my car that often, I don’t feel I will benefit from their unlimited car wash. so I just bought ONE carwash (Beary Best for $ 14+) to try it out. The gate opened up just after I finished my payment. I drove slowly and saw that there was in fact a Brown Bear employee standing just before the tunnel entrance. He was waving his hand signaling me to drive closer. then he stopped at my window telling me that I needed to back my car up then drive forward and try to get both my left tires into the left rail of the tunnel, and after that just put my gear to Neutral (N) and leave my hand brake off. I followed his instructions. He didn’t pre-​wash my car and didn’t give me a towel for my interior — as oppose to what previous reviewers mentioned in their reviews. My car moved forward automatically through the tunnel, so many gigantic brushes cleaning up my car from all directions. I sat in my car wanting to laugh because of the vigorous shaking and cleaning — but also worried that my car would come out of it with extreme scratches and all. But thankfully it didn’t. My car came out of the tunnel spotless clean even the tires and the rims, no scratches and very shiny.
The whole thing was also very quick, took me about 1 – 2 minutes. This place will definitely be my place to go to get a car wash from now on. It is a bit pricey but I only go to get my car washed about once every 2 months, so I feel it’s still a reasonable price.

This place just opened this summer. I couldn’t wait until they finally opened. It was my own private torture to drive past the old 76 station waiting for them to FINALLY open to the public. Thank goodness they did.
For a local town car company owner, it doesn’t get any better than this.
First off, this is Brown Bear’s top-​of-​the-​line drive through car wash. It takes less than 2 minutes for you to drive in and drive out with a clean and sparkly car (if you have the monthly pass, it’s an automated process that zips you through).
This newest location has every option, and can even apply tire shine to your wheels while you’re driving through the wash (included in the Beary Best package).
Kenny, the manager, is one of the nicest guys around. He really likes his job, likes seeing the people every day, and when it’s been slow, has even helped me wipe down my town car from time-​to-​time.

We received a set of Brown Bear gift certificates when we got some glass repair, so we go from time to time. This location is brand new and it seems just fine — I kind of like how there are bear statues all over the place. The guys who work there kind of swab down your car and then the machine does the rest. It wasn’t the fanciest, high level of service car wash ever, but I don’t want to pay for that, so it’s fine by me.
