A sweet neighborhood café with great coffee, great crepes, and great staff. Plus other local businesses there in the heart of Maple Leaf.

I love both this location and the Wedgewood Café Javasti. I’ve been going to this 5th Ave location for many years and just started going to the Wedgewood location. Both have great coffee and I’m really picky about my coffee! Their lattes are the best. I love the gluten-free crepes. They also have wheat crepes of course. I brought a friend here from out of state for the crepes, and of all the places in Seattle, when she came back through she wanted to go here again. I’ve been going here since I found it while bringing my car to Rick’s Chevron for the first time probably ten years ago. I will keep coming back.

So, I really want to like this place and I really should. The staff is very friendly the food is awesome and the coffee is pretty good. It’s the customers that suck! They walk in and save a table for the 3 – 4 people that are joining them over their 2 day stay then they order. Weekends and weekdays alike if you want a place to sit to eat your crêpe you better bring s tent to camp out. If you are lucky enough to get a table be prepared to fight to keep it.

I miss living next to this place! Luckily my wife and I are up every Sunday and always make sure to treat ourselves after church. Easily one of my favorite coffee places in Seattle.

I had a dark roast drip coffee and I thought it had a great taste compared to other cafes and coffee shops, including Starbucks. The chicken crêpe with mozzarella, pesto, and tomatoes was probably one of the best crepes I’ve ever had, it was extremely flavorful and the chicken was tender. They also played some of my favorite songs on their playlist. Overall I think this is one of my new favorite cafes, only thing is I wish they had more seating, but everything else was perfect!

Normally I have wonderful service here. But today, it was terrible. Shout out to the chick that was so upset about having to serve people in a coffee shop at 7:50am. She was extremely cold at the register, and spilled my coffee a good bit when she practically slammed it on the counter, walking away to let me clean up the mess. As I was cleaning it up she kept slamming shit around as she was cleaning up from making my drink. Once she was done, I saw her go back to her table and sit down to continue her crossword puzzle. I’ve never met a crossword important enough to the point that providing terrible customer service was acceptable. Super disappointed since I grew up loving this place. Mental note, don’t expect good service when someone has a crossword puzzle to do.

This place is freaking awesome. First let me say, the staff rocks. They’re super nice, hot or of their way to spoil my dog, and they make killer coffee! Yes, the coffee here is great, even better than that, though, is their delicious selection of crepes! I’ve almost tried them all, and all of them are AMAZING. My only complaint is that it’s a little pricy to eat here… that being said, you deffinately get a high quality product in exchange for your monies.

LOVETHISPLACE. One of my good friends lives in the neighbor hood, and this is our meet up spot. They have amazing crepes and really satisfying espresso for a great price. I recommend their chai tea latte or even just a plain latte. The café is quite large, and really great for families. They have a small selection of pastries, but a menu that would be great for a stop in lunch.

Excellent buckwheat crêpe. Well, I wrote that in 2011 and just noticed I hadn’t posted it. I’m sure it’s still good!

I usually crave pancakes for breakfast but I decided to try having crepes instead especially since I was in the neighborhood. The olive tapenade crêpe, the chicken mozzarella and pesto crêpe, and the Nutella banana crêpe were all very good. Of the two savory crepes, the olive one was most flavorful. The Nutella one was for dessert and was my favorite. It wasn’t too sweet and had these toasted almonds and whipped cream on it that really added a nice touch. Had a mocha as well and it was mediocre. It wasn’t frothy enough. The menu had quite a few options of crepes for different preferences and eating restrictions. I would suggestion they offer fresh juices or smoothies. That would be the perfect touch. They have some outside seating but the traffic is a bit noisy and the choice of music inside wasn’t great and was way too loud. The staff was helpful and the food came quickly. I will definitely be back for more!

I’m bumping my review update to four stars. I stopped by here yesterday for a sugar fix and this place had exactly what I needed — warm chocolate chip cookie and a cup of java. It was perfect beyond words and hit a much needed spot in my belly. I have to say, having this place within walking distance of your house is a luxury in itself and I’m right in the middle of it! Yay for Javasti!

Everything is perfect about this place. Great neighborhood coffee shop and I crave the marionberry or peach scones and/or the chocolate zucchini cake. If you have not tried their scones, you are missing out on a big treat.

Bomb coffee. Loved the pumpkin bread. Love the ambience. Great service and really nice baristas. I’ll be sure to come back whenever I’m in the area. Especially since they’re next to Kona Kitchen.

I’ve only been here once and tried their crepes and coffee. Very delicious. Pretty big café and not crowded. Good place for meetings or studying.

Good spot for a quick bite or some coffee if you are in the area. I just finished a hot Ozo crêpe and a cappuccino, they were not bad. The Ozo was tasty and was balanced quite nicely with the olives and artichoke hearts. It was served with a simple presentation(open to see the ingredients). The crêpe it self was a little over done on certain parts and did not have the nice fully texture. It felt too crunchy and dry; however the rest of my crêpe was soft and fluffy. The cappuccino had a smooth and creamy feeling while holding its foam till the last drop. You could really taste the coffee, and it had a really nice after taste that stays in your mouth for a while. Their coffee is from batdorf and Bronson coffee roasters. Overall the food and drink is not bad, just not anything super good. It is a place I would go to if I was in the area and wanted coffee or crêpe, but I would not drive out to this place. With that said, it is also not a place for reading or work if you like a chill café environment, it was quite loud when I visited this spot. And with the other reviewers, the workers are not super nice, they seem indifferent.

This place was just down the street from where we were staying for our trip so we decided to check it out one morning. I ordered a short vanilla latte and a sautéed mushroom crêpe. The vanilla latte was good. The sweetness was just how I like my lattes so I’m glad I wasn’t disappointed. As for the crêpe, i like the fluffy texture it had. The ingredients are simple and straightforward with no sauces to overwhelm the flavor of the mushrooms. Overall, I liked this place but I wouldn’t say their items were life changing in any way. It’s a good place to stop if you want a quick drink or meal.

A friend of mine was craving crepes in the late afternoon, and I wasn’t sure where to take her in the Ballard area, knowing that a lot of brunch/crêpe places are closed by 2 – 3 pm. I used Unilocal to find Café Javasti, read the reviews, and off we went to explore. I was super pleased(and surprised) at how tasty the crepes are here! When I first arrived, I wasn’t sure if I wanted a savory or sweet crêpe, because quite honestly, both options sounded really tempting. I went with a ham, spinach, swiss, and pesto(an addition I requested), and boy, it was really tasty. Hit the spot perfectly. The coffee here is excellent, too! The barista made my «high-maintenance» breve au lait perfectly. This inside is really charming and cozy, too. It was raining the day we visited, which probably contributed to the inviting feeling inside. I saw quite a few people camped out with a cup of coffee and their laptops. There is also local art on the wall that you can buy. I imagine this gets changed out frequently. Since I’m a late weekend sleeper, Café Javasti is perfect for me to be able to wake up late and still get the brunch fare I am craving. I am definitely going to return!

I come to Café Javasti because I really enjoy the community here, and the staff is pretty friendly. I love the fact that I can get a buckwheat crêpe, sans gluten, and a fabulous dairy-free, dark chocolate hot cocoa. That hot cocoa just warms my heart and my body. I’m constantly meeting fascinating strangers, and making new friends, along with sharing lots of stories. I can walk here, or drive, and find plenty of street parking. It may be a little bit of a wait for the food, but it’s worth it with all of the good conversation. Bring your laptop and get a little work done using their Wi-Fi for free. Whether you’re here for the coffee, the tea, the crepes — gluten-free or regular — fruity and sweet or savory, the pastries, the quiche, or just the company, it’s all good. They’re open from early in the morning until 7 at night, and on the bus line for the 66 and 67. What I want more of, really tasty gluten free crêpe batter(buy some Pamela’s GF baking mix), cookies or pastries, its easy to make in-house or order from a local gf baker. The buckwheat isn’t really that good, I just eat it cuz you’re close to me and don’t have another option. I’d love to really enjoy the crepes!
