Caffe Bella

Foam! Living in So Cal, I’ve had to settle for cappuccinos with weak foam. But not here. It’s a nice change to get thick, full-​bodied foam. I discovered this place on a quick trip to Seattle and fell in love with the comfy stuffed chars, great coffee and atmosphere. Wish it were closer to home.

Visited this cute little space twice on our trip. The first time was with my BF & my niece. He ordered an iced toddy coffee, my niece had a mango smoothie, and I had a glass of Rosé.
The cashier was cute and friendly. She said it was her third day working, and she was a little confused about what wines they had, and how to open the wine bottle. LOL, she made my boyfriend open it! Other than that, she did a great job and I enjoyed chatting with her.
The second time I came in was just with my niece, she again got her mango smoothie, and I had the Rosé again, since that was the only wine they had available on this visit.
This time the cashier was really confused and said it was her first day (why do they let newbies work alone without training??) and she couldn’t figure out how to ring me up for the wine, or how much to charge me. We settled on $ 5 and she filled the glass up to the brim. I was happy, since normal glasses of wine are about half way full, she clearly wasn’t trained.
She was really flustered, but she had a good attitude about everything.
The chairs in here were comfy and I enjoyed the music. It was a good place to hang out and rest from all the walking we had done. I just felt bad for the poor ladies working who just didn’t appear to be trained at all. Good luck to them!

I had a very enjoyable latte here from a very talkative barista. We were the only people in the place, and talked with her for over 10 minutes about her band, how we’ve never been to New York, and how Seattle is going to crumble when The Earthquake hits (stay off the Viaduct, btw) and no Seattle mayor is willing to do anything about it.
Some of the baked goods might have been good, but we had just finished eating at Pike Place Chowder (go there!) and were stuffed! Judging by some of the other reviews, we missed out!
Caffe Bella is right near the Space Needle and the EMP, and is definitely one of the great coffee shops in that area. If you’re leaving the Space Needle and going north, hit up Caffe Zingaro. If you’re going south, Caffe Bella is a great place to try.
Oh, and it’s true — they DO sell beer here. Great coffee and beer in the same place? Yes please!

These guys totally deserve the 4 and 5 stars that most people give them. It seems that the friendly, chattable, barista experience I had is atypical of Seattle and I enjoyed it. I was not looking for espresso, because I am totally the new girl in town, but was looking for a tea latte, because I may be addicted to 2% milk. Keeps a girl strong…
The sencha was recommended and so was the size small, since I was unfamiliar with the flavor and it is one which «regular Americans» (not that there are any of Them in Seattle!) are unfamiliar with. I really enjoyed the tea and the beautiful foam art my friendly barista gave it. A pretty heart, right there in white milk foam and green tea. How could I not savor the experience. I also gave into my demons and got a super delish chocolate chip cookie. The cookie I ordered, to be clear, was of the smaller, «normal» size, variety and not the giant pancake sized cookies resting in jars on a lower shelf. It was yummier than your average cookie owing to just the right balance of salt and sweet.
Caffe Bella also serves beer and wine and food, which I did not sample. It’s cute, clean, and in a convenient location if you’ve been doing Belltown/​Downtown sight seeing or shopping all day.

I just recently moved to Seattle. This is one of the few coffee shops that I’ve been to, but i need look no further :) This place is cozy, quieter than most shops, and has delicious drinks! They also have a shelf of board games (my favorite!!!) to pass the time by!

The coffee is served in a real ceramic cup, not paper… what a concept! Their coffee was excellent too.

I’m reasonably sure the day I discovered Bella and found it to be both close to my office and served coffee roasted just the way I like it was a top ten moment of my life in Seattle.
You’d think this sounds like hyperbole, but I think if pressed I’d still hold that opinion.
First: Espresso machines? They pull two shots at once. Most places pour one and charge you extra for the second. Bella? Nope. Double by default, since why waste a perfectly good shot? It makes so much sense! Why doesn’t every place do this, now that I know? I tell you, it’s crazy AND retroactively puts every other coffee place I’ve been to that doesn’t do this to shame!
The double shots by default also explained why the first time I went there (when I didn’t know this) I was wired to my eyeballs for that morning’s staff meeting, but I digress…
There’s a lot more, too — a great selection of good, fresh food? Really good tea for the non-​coffee crowd? (Bonus points for the logical «any size = same price» tea, too. Places that charge extra for a few ounces of hot water are ridiculous!) Comfortable seating which just begs you to sit there for a while? Neat latte art? Beer on tap for that evening relaxation? Board games to play? Sure. Bella’s got you covered no matter when you stop in or what you want.
But the real reason Bella’s an easy five, on top of everything? The baristas and the owner are, universally, fantastic. They’re fast, they’re friendly, they recognize me and know my order before I’ve finished opening the door. I literally cannot ask for anything more — Bella just does it right, every time.

Cute little coffee shop right next to the space needle. Good place to chill after a long touristy walk :) We loved the latte and the chai latte!

The BF & I had coffee here and of course, it was great.
Decent service, the place was clean & so were the bathrooms.
But I wonder if all of the Seattle places I went to were tainted with goodness, I just fell in love with the town & I cannot seem to write a negative thing about it ;)

After doing touristing with a visiting friend, I drove around aimlessly looking for a café in Seattle. This was the first hit coming off of Denny and there was a parking space right in front. I still had time on my window sticker.

This was the ultimate in snippets of Seattle, and my friend loved it.

My trip to here was one of the first times I’ve actually been in Belltown during the day…
I was here in the mid-​afternoon on a Tuesday. The place was empty except my friend and I. A few people came in and out to get coffee, but we were the only ones sitting around. That being said I’m tempted to start studying here so as the hours turn late, I can get some of the beer I saw on tap :)
They looked like they had a decent selection of food and I definitely wouldn’t mind going back for a snack sometime. The coffee was well made and done so quickly (could be because I was the only one in line though).
The space was great. This place is tucked away under the monorail tracks so may be a bit hard to find if you’re not sure where you’re going, but it’s well worth seeking out.

My mom is very picky about her coffee, so when she suggested this place (which she said used to be Café Fiore) I knew it was going to be good – not just decent, but excellent. My mom rarely disappoints. Pefectly pulled espresso and latte art to boot.

It would’ve been four stars, but the service earned it an extra one. The espresso is tasty and well-​poured. The space is airy and clean. The wall art is good (I feel this is a necessary point as most coffee shop art leads me to believe one of their employees is probably in art school). The food selection is above average, and they have real fruit smoothies (instead of just carrying Odwallas). This is easily the best coffee shop in the downtown area. Plus, there’s alcohol for later (or earlier, I suppose, depending on your personal needs).
Oh, what was the fifth star for? I spilled my brand new double shot soy latte all over my table and my bag, and she immediately offered me a fresh, free new one completely of her own accord. In other words, she acted like a decent human being, not a snotty bahreeestah.

I lived in the apartments upstairs from Café Bella and I loved being so close to a good coffee place. The staff is super friendly and I even became good friends with a few of them. They had tables outside and would let me sit there with my dog sipping coffee and smoking cigarettes for hours and never asked me to move or anything.
On a lot of nights they have music, which isn’t always the best, but despite that I would often wander down there for a glass of wine if I was sitting home and hand nothing to do. You would always find someone to talk to.
Nice neighborhood style place with friendly staff and owners (the one owner opens the store every morning so if you were in there before 10 am, chances are she helped you.) I miss not having it nearby anymore.

I orginially and accidentally posted this for the VERY similarly named Café Bella in Century Square. Do not confuse the two. Trust me.
Ah, Bella! The coffee savior of N. Belltown. They serve Vita, and they serve it well. Amazing coffee, great people. Plus, their baked goods are great. Whether I want sweet fruity scones or a turkey and cheese croissant, they fix my craving. It helps that they feed my daily caffeine addiction.
But it gets better: sandwiches from Mike’s East Coast Deli for lunch (when I’m around) and then in the evening, I can swing by for a beer. Seriously. How. Perfect. You gotta love Bella.

This is my favorite Seattle café. The coffee is really well made, the ambiance is great, and the baristas are pretty cool. It is kind of unassumingly situated on 5^th in Belltown. There are open mic nights, but when I went on a Thursday only one guy showed up with a guitar, looked around, and left. The only thing I would not recommend are the sandwiches, I think you could better at many other places nearby. Anyhow, I’d go here over Starbucks any day.

I am a coffee whore… I could not say it more plainly… There are at least 8 coffee shops within a 4 block walk of my apartment (unfortunately 2 are dinero estrella… how’s that for Spanglish)…and I have different uses for all of em…
This one is my «ace in the hole», when my fave Uptown is packed which it is almost 88% of the time, then I come here.
Great Coffee, Great Service, and Great Location…
…They also serve beer/​wine which is great when I want to drink socially but not socialize.

I have to agree with Patty C. this place is amazing!!! Before I moved to Seattle I day dreamed about all the lovely little coffee shops I would go to once I moved here. I have been quite pleased at the variety of great coffee shops all over the city! However, I was pleasantly surprised to find this little gem right at my doorstep.
Caffe Bella is a great place! They serve Caffe Vita espresso and coffee which is, as always, delicious. The baristas here really know what they are doing and consistently make perfect mochas, lattes, etc.
The quiche is wonderful as are their sandwiches and pastries… Not to mention, they serve beer and wine! You can’t go wrong with this place!!!
And… they have remodeled and I must say it has turned out beautifully!!! Very comfortable chairs, murals, great music and wireless internet access adds to the atmosphere of this café. On top of that, they have open mic nights and local musicians play at least once a week!!!
If you’re in the Belltown/​Denny Regrade area give this place a try, it’s definitely worth it!!!

Latia and crew serve up a perfect latte — the best you can find in the vicinity of the Seattle Center.
Why I like it:
–Café Vita coffee! MMMM! (best in the world)
–Free Wi-​Fi (for when I need to escape the cubicle)
–Really comfy chairs (in soothing, non-​industrial colors)
–Beer and wine in the evenings (perfect for after work)
–Live, local music (still haven’t made it to one of these)
–Perfect location (2 blocks from my office)
Don’t settle for St*rbucks when you can have perfection. :)
