Justin and his crew performed a tricky repair on my couch and left it looking like nothing had ever happened. They were courteous, fast, careful, responsive, and super easy to work with, fetching it and delivering it right on time. Castillo’s is awesome!

This was an excellent experience every step of the way. Justin and Norah were both delightful to work wth. Justin made excellent fabric suggestions and was patient when we were making our decisions. The craftsmanship is impeccable! The work was done in a timely manner and the price was fair. I would give 10 stars if I could.

Colin is very professional, easy going, and meticulous in his work. I asked him to do a rather simple job. He came by the house to evaluate the job, kept in touch, and did exemplary work.

I wanted to give a reupholstered Queen Anne chair as a surprise gift for Christmas. Justin was great in working with us by offering a «blind» and competitive quote for the job as he wasn’t able to see the chair until after Christmas. He even created a nice gift certificate for «under the tree» .
The surprise went off without a hitch and Justin responded quickly to all messages. The craftsmanship was excellent and the chair is beautiful and oh so comfy. I highly recommend Castillo’s for any upholstery or furniture repair project. Thanks Justin and crew!!!

I am happy to join the chorus of happy customers of Castillo’s Custom Upholstery. Until now, I’d never had anything upholstered, but I bought 6 beautiful antique Swedish hand carved chairs from Craigslist and they needed just the right fabric to bring out the flowers in the woodwork. I tried taking them to an upholstery store in Ballard but pretty much got the cold shoulder so decided against them. I’m so glad the previous Unilocal reviews led me to Castillo’s in Queen Anne. Justin (who has the patience of a saint) helped me pour through the fabric books, and when I could not make up my mind on just one fabric, he kindly suggested I take the books home overnight. Thank goodness! Once I saw the fabric samples at home, I picked an entirely different fabric than I originally thought I wanted and the results are nothing short of stunning — far better than I could have imagined or hoped. Each chair has the fabric centered on the seat, they are perfectly upholstered, and the chairs are beautiful beyond belief. I enjoy them so much it’s almost silly — I really can’t believe I am so lucky to have these beautiful chairs and it would not have happened without Castillo’s. Now that I know how much positive difference it makes to have furniture reupholstered, I look forward to doing more projects with them.

Justin helped pick out the perfect fabric to replace my couch cushion and made sure it was to my liking. His family has been in the upholstery business for 3 generations so the guy knows what he is doing!

I live in Magnolia and went on-​line searching for upholsterers in my area. I wanted to re-​cover the seats of my 12 dining room chairs. I visited 5 separate businesses from Greenwood to Ballard to Interbay, and I got estimates from all of them. With the exception of one which was very expensive, the other 4 were all in the same price range. But in each store, they pointed to a vast wall of sample books, and told me to come in any time and spend as much time as I needed going through the samples to find what I wanted :(:(:(
Then I saw a positive review for Castillo’s (sorry — can’t remember where) and that it is located close by on Queen Anne. So I made one more trip. I was so pleased. The shop was neat, clean, and with a professional décor.
Like I had everyone else, I told them what I was looking for (color, informal, dog-​proof cleanable but not «plastic», etc.) Instead of pointing to a wall of books, Justin pulled books of materials that would meet my needs, and broke the different types down for me. He made suggestions, and offered his opinion when I asked for it. On my first trip, we narrowed it down to several brands which he wrote down for me. Then I went home to get more photos and more samples of the other furniture in the house that I wanted the chairs to be compatible with. When I returned the second time, he again helped me look at the various fabrics and colors up against my home samples and photos.
I appreciated him being willing to offer suggestions and his opinion when asked for — others just said «it is up to you, whatever you like…» Which is true, but sometimes you want input from someone else — especially a professional.
I now have my chairs and they are lovely. I am very happy with the workmanship, and how they look in my home.

My mother gave me her Scandinavian modern couch that she’s had for 20 years or so. It’s been in her house almost as long as I can remember, but her cat used it as a scratching post and stained it as well, so it needs some love. I contacted Castillo’s through their handy online message form to see about reupholstering it. Someone got back to me almost immediately! I was amazed.
I got the sense that Castillo’s employees are extremely knowledgeable and conscientious, just from our initial email thread. They had a quote for me within a day. Unfortunately, I can’t afford them at present (the quote ran from $ 1100 — $ 1500 for a small-​ish couch, and that didn’t include fabric), but I have no doubt that I would have been extremely happy with their work. I hope that I can give them my business someday!

We brought photos of a set of dining room chairs to Castillo’s and one other business, and got a better price quote and a better feeling for the work to be done here. They told us they would pick up the chairs in about 3 weeks. One day about 4 weeks later we got a call to schedule a pickup. We were home so they picked up in the morning. Imagine our amazement when they called at the end of the day to say they could deliver the finished chairs the same day!
The work involved new fabric for the chair seats and chair backs (which are inset so double-​sided), plus new cushioning for the seats. We are delighted with the quality of the work and the pleasant way we were treated at the shop and at our home.
We have another item we’re thinking of reupholstering, and if we do we’ll bring it here!

The Castillo family provides superior customer service and a product to match. We had a fantastic experience with re-​upholstering a chair-​and-​a-​half, seat cushions and with tufted buttons. We have been met with a smile and a can-​do attitude each time we visited. Prices have been competitive, if not better than other local options. We are lucky to have this small business on QA.

As a start up business setting up shop in Queen Anne we were looking for a local upholstery shop that would reupholster our well used dental chairs with new fabric.
I’m so glad we found Castillo’s. This family run shop was quick to help and provided excellent customer service. They came and picked up the chairs and came back to deliver them, one room at a time to cause the least possible disruption to our patient flow.
I am very happy with the work they did, what remains to see is how long it will last :)
