As a small business owner, it is so important that I have a great website that validates the quality and caliber of my practice. I have a job search coaching and HR consulting business and people look at my website to make sure that I am welcoming, professional and clearly articulating my services.

Josh and his team (David Innes included) created the most beautiful website I could have imagined. Beyond my own ideas, Josh provided guidance on color, layout, templates and photography. He was my website design Zenmaster and David my Yoda.
Important to note: I believe that to create a sterling website requires patience, thoughtfulness and lots of time. I was lucky in that I had no real deadline. My focus was on the creation of a website that really reflected me and my business. So, it took quite a long time — about 4 months — to make this website the great site it is today. So, I advise patience and the willingness to work with Josh and team at a slow but intentional pace.
I cannot say enough about the follow-​up from David and Josh — they answered all of my questions, David met with me in person to walk me through some self-​service work and they both responded immediately to any questions I had post-​launch.

When I saw the breadth of Chalkbox’s portfolio: from truly sensitive works for non-​profits, brilliant illustrations for commercial enterprises, I knew that they’d develop eye-​catching and persuasive materials for my mostly photo-​and-​text print and web media, and, the results were even better than I expected.

Josh’s design and communication skills are top notch. He is talented, organized, knowledgeable in his field and easy to work with. I’m currently working with Josh on a creative project and it is a pleasure. He asks lots of questions up front to gain full understanding of his assignment and its scope. His results demonstrate that he listens and pays attention to what I have to say.
A recurring theme I find in Josh’s work is happiness.

Josh was so great — highly recommended! I presented him with a tough challenge to create a logo for my new small business. I showed him the approach that I was thinking about. He went off, did a bunch of research on my field, and came back with excellent, creative ideas. To appease me, he did up a draft with my approach, but it was obvious that his ideas were far better.
Josh was very easy to work with. We met a couple of times to review drafts. He offered alternatives and suggestions, and readily incorporated my feedback. He’s certainly gone above and beyond in terms of time and effort.
I don’t know a lot about graphics design, but his rates were very reasonable as far as I was concerned.

Josh is a fantastic designer and shows the utmost in professionalism and customer service! I needed a fresh look for my business cards and went to Josh. I had an idea of what I wanted, it turned out that it was not really a good idea (this is why HE is the designer and I’m not)…but he did what I asked anyway. He also worked up several other options for me, and explained what factors I may want to think about in choosing an image. His ideas were all so good that I had a hard time choosing. When I had narrowed it down to 2 choices, he easily helped me figure out which one was the best fit for my company. He then gave me a great recommendation for a printer, met me at the printer’s office, and made sure the color was going to be exactly how it was intended. I ended up with cards that I am very happy with, and he accomplished it all in a short period of time. I am very impressed.

I’m working with Josh right now on some branding items for my business, and they look great! He is a total artist. My truck is the first item that we’re tackling, and then some of the print marketing collateral will follow. I’m really excited about how this will improve the branding of my business.
He’s really got an eye for design, and can even draw! It’s not all graphic designers that can also provide illustration. It’s really great to have both services at one location. If you haven’t seen his illustration work, ask him to see it. It’s fun, but professional… and really appropriate for a variety of businesses. I went to Josh to revamp my business logo as well as design cards, letterhead, etc.
Josh was easy to work with listened to my Ideas before returning with a few options he had worked out, they were all good, it took me a week to pick one. Josh also worked with my web designer, making sure that colors worked with the website as well as the cards, he even put my logo into a format easy for my web designer to incorporate into my web site. I highly recommend Chalkbox Creative!!!
