Service was great but my chef’s special was not. I also ordered a marionberry coffee cake that was so dry, I tossed it. The topping which I thought was a sweet crumble, ended being chunks of sugar on top.

We were hoping to find a place, not too far from the hotel, which would be open early, and would offer a good old fashion hearty breakfast. We hadn’t heard about CJ’s until we came across it on Unilocal, and boy were we pleasantly surprised. It was exactly what we were looking for. Greeted warmly and quickly at the door, and offered a table of our choosing. Our server Andrea was friendly, polite and knew the menue forwards and backwards. She had absolutely no problem with our substitutions, and kept the coffee topped up. The servings were large and the food was outstanding. Thank you CJ’s for starting our day off right.

So many choices, not a big enough stomach. The food was amazing and the service was equally amazing. I had biscuits & gravy with hash browns, my husband had a frittata with red potatoes and sourdough toast. Lots of food and the prices were super reasonable. $ 27 for two of us. I would highly recommend this place. Great place to enjoy Seattle’s ambiance and dig into great food. Will come back for sure!

It’s not only the food that makes it a good place, but the people serving you adds that extra edge. CJ’S has both. Good quality food backed with excellent staff. Loved the Hash browns! A must go if you are in Seattle. Ravi, Dubai

CJ’s Eatery. The birthplace of culinary legends and sorcery. Located on the corner of 1st and Cedar, CJ’s Eatery is a première brunch located across the street from its friendly competitor The Lucky Diner. This place is absolutely kickin’ it on the weekends, but the waits are seldom excruciatingly long. After you acquire a table and some seats, you should immediately order their HOTCHOCOLATE because oh my… it’s an absolute game changer and I would be willing to eat the glass just to get all the flavor and joy that is CJ’s Eatery’s HOTCHOCOLATE. HOTCHOCOLATE. CHOCOLATE. I’ve been here around 4 times, and every time has been absolutely stellar. Their service is on-point and their phở-od is phở-nomenal. I’ve tried their chicken-fried steak, crab eggs-benedict special, and 2 other dishes that I can’t remember from the top of my head. If you want a suggestion for what to order, here’s mine: HOTCHOCOLATE. And then basically anything else on the menu because I’m pretty sure they don’t know how to not do a dish well. They have rotating specials and they are DELICIOUS.

Awesome place, if you are in or around Seattle, you must come here for their delicious Breakfast. After being so disappointed at Lola’s(read my other review) we came here. We had Breakfast here twice, and it was awesome. Whatever you choose from the Menu is great and plenty. I personally loved their Skillet, great Coffee, friendly Servers, good prices. This place rocks, and I’ll be back on my next Visit to Seattle.

A nice standard place for breakfast. The take on the pancakes are okay, but definitely more of a fried/savory sort of product than a typical fluffy pancake, so if your into that flatter variety, your good to go. It was pretty tasty. I tried a bit of a few things, the special pancake of the day(peach), the vegetarian benedict with avocado(pretty dang good!) and the Farmer’s scramble. Nothing special, and I have had better, but the price point is about right. Service was a bit lacking in regards to attention, but they were nice enough. I did however, find 2 hairs that seemed to match one of the cooks in the back. Had I had my server come ask how everything was, I would have said something. But she never did. So I didn’t really complain or feel like doing so. There are so many other great brunch/breakfast places in the area, I probably will not go back as its not really what I am into. Lots of filling potatoes. The red skin potatoes are definitely the way to go over the hashbrowns. which were kind of tasteless.(I tried both)

Quick and friendly service, good food, and reasonable prices — what more could a girl ask for? The orange juice was very fresh and is a must have! I had the biscuits and gravy and while they weren’t my favorite, it was just seasoned differently than what I’m used too(had more of a sourdough taste). The portions were very generous — it came with choice of potatoes and 2 eggs. My friend was able to eat those and just order a side of toast and potatoes — breakfast for both of us, including a mimosa for me(and coffee and oj) was $ 27. Will be back!

CJ’s is a traditional diner located in Belltown. They serve breakfast all day. The place is reasonably priced and breakfast for two was $ 25. My partner ordered the biscuits and gravy and I ordered the two eggs. The food was as expected, the orange juice was freshly squeezed, and the service was super fast and friendly. The prices are lower for the early birds — so worth checking the hours when the food is discounted. 4 stars.

food: chicken fried steak. the gravy, the hash browns, the chicken. everything spectacular. everything that needs to be crunchy and crispy were crunch and crispy, and all the gooey stuff remained gooey. the portion is great. my friend barely finished her benedict. me being a pig like usual cleaned the plate. i wanted to lick the plate, but im quite skilled with the knife and fork and scooping stuff up with hash browns. ***4/5 service: it was a busy sunday. it took some time for a table, but the service was better. our server was quick and got us what we needed in a timely matter. we were in a hurry to catch another reservation. ***4/5 value: it’s pretty cheap compared to some other places around the area. i love it. the portions are big enough that i almost didnt finish. ***5/5

Eggs Benedict!!! To be honest, that’s the main reason we decided to come here, because I was really craving a delicious Benedict. And CJ’s did not disappoint! We sat ourselves upon entering, and were promptly greeted, given waters, and asked about other beverages almost immediately. Moments later, we were able to order our tasty entrees. I ordered a classic benedict, and was delivered 2 delicious english muffins with ham and poached eggs smothered(almost drowning, but in a good way) with homemade hollandaise sauce. This was all next to a heaping pile of homefries. I demolished as much as I could, but alas, the sheer size of the food won me over. One of the busboys even congratulated me, saying that I ate more than most when he came to pick up my plate from my defeated self. In all seriousness, the meal was awesome. Overall great service and great food. The place had a 90s diner vibe to it, but with expertly crafted modern food. The whole menu looked amazing and there would be about 50 other things I would have been happy with. But if you are craving a Benedict in Belltown, this should not disappoint.

I actually really really like coming here! It’s a nice breakfast-brunch place. I am in love with their french toast and side of fruit. I also order sausage, bacon and eggs. They serve big groups as well. I highly recommend it!

Good classic breakfast spot. Tons of options and I like their omelette selection, which you can sub egg whites. I suggest you get a slice of French toast as an appetizer for a truly fancy breakfast experience.

One of those diners that you go to for the quantity and not necessarily the quality. I ordered the classic eggs benedict and the plate was huge. It was the kind of portion that screamed AMURRCA. There’s a good variety of brunch options, all of which were a bit pricey and looked equally loaded by mounds of hash brown and toast. The tastes are all very predictable, it doesn’t take a lot to make a decent breakfast IMO. Service is friendly, space is regular. I’ll be back for the carbs!

Enjoyed the breakfast here. Ordered the scramble special and the corned beef hash special. I loved the over easy eggs on top of the corned beef. The corned beef itself was delicious and the eggs just put it over the top. The hashbrowns were cooked just right. The scramble was nice portion size. We enjoyed the food here and look forward to coming back!

How to deal with Sunday? Head to CJ’s! Hungover? Head to CJ’s. Fast. Cheat day from the diet? Definitely head to CJ’s! Scrambles, omelets, chicken fried chicken, hash browns bacon GALORE. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. You would be doing yourself the most absolute disservice if you didn’t order from their mimosa menu– Hibiscus? Tiger Lilly? Is this real life??? Staff are fantastic, and will get you seated and situated in a timely manner. Make sure to arrive with all of your party, or you’ll be waiting for awhile. CJ’s and their mimosas will continue to be my go to breakfast spot in the 206!

Found this spot a couple days after moving to Seattle. Was in the mood for some fresh salmon and got the bagel lox with cream cheese and all the fixings. Plenty of salmon! Will be back for sure.

Solid breakfast spot. Lots of options. Hash browns ONPOINT. I got the Magnolia omelet, my bf got the Bourbon Street. And coffee. Multiple cups of coffee. Also, our waitress was hilarious. The décor is none too special, but it’s spacious. We went on a weekday morning but I could see this place being PACKED on the weekends.

Very good brunch spot in the Belltown area near where I was staying on my trip to Seattle. A good sign for a breakfast joint is seeing lots of people there, but the best part was that I was able to still get a seat and not have to wait. Servers were friendly and service was not hurried despite how busy it was. I ordered the Moo Cow omelet(basically cheese omelet, but love the name!). It came with your choice of potatoes and toast. The serving was huge and price was affordable for all you get. Great brunch place that would me on my weekly rotation of brunch spots that are must visit if I lived in Seattle!

The food is good, the place is really clean, the staff is delightful. It’s a good place for warm breakfast but less exciting for lunch. I can recommend it over most bars who open early in the weekend to capture brunch revenue. It’s good food — really traditional but with a rotating specials sheet.

This is my go to place for breakfast, since I live just a block away. They have the most perfectly cooked hash browns ANYWHERE. My other half and I are here for breakfast ATLEAST once a week. And yes, I count walking up the big hill my exercise for the week. Don’t judge. They have specials on the daily and their cinnamon buns are the size of my head(no joke eat it with a fork and knife). Prices are good(bfast with coffee for 2 runs us a consistent $ 25) and the servers are always pleasant and attentive(unlike Lucky across the street… see my review). Things to note: their pancakes are Swedish pancakes unless part of the special, then they’re regular pancakes. No waffles unless on special. Can we change that, guys? I have waffle cravings a lot…

I really, really liked my dish. I ordered the stuffed crepes, as they call it «blintzes». They were stuffed with a cottage cheese and cream cheese and of course dusted with powdered sugar. I got it with jam on the side and it really satisfied my brunch sweet tooth! I just feel like you can’t go wrong with crepes, cheese and sugar! My friend ordered biscuit and gravy(I think. my memory sucks lol) with hash browns and scrambled eggs and she didn’t seem to enjoy her meal as much as I did. The interior is kind of reminds of me a huge deli as there is just one huge open space with tables layed out. We sat by the window so I had a lovely view of the city.

I really love CJ’s because the food is consistent, it’s exactly what it says it is on the menu, it’s not fancy, and it’s delicious. I’ve honestly never had anything here that wasn’t enjoyable. CJ’s harkens back to a time when one could approach breakfast in a simpler way. No bone marrow toast hash with a locally sourced fried egg on top here. Just classic french toast, omelettes, scrambles, pancakes, and melts. If you order from this menu, it will be exactly what it says it is, it will be delicious, and it will be cooked appropriately every time. The prices are very reasonable, too. I’d go so far as to say this is the cheapest breakfast out that I’ve had since moving to Seattle. There is nothing pretentious about the décor, the waitstaff, or the food. Sometimes it’s nice to experiment, and when you’re in that mood Local 360 is right around the corner and rearing to charge you twice as much for something very unique, but CJ’s fills a niche that Seattle is otherwise lacking. If you’re tired of rabbit sausage and kale chips, give CJ’s a go. You won’t regret it, and your wallet won’t either.

I tried this place for brunch while visiting Seattle on a Monday. It was not at all busy around 12pm. Good beef sausage scramble on the lunch special with peppers, tomatoes and cheddar cheese. They have uli’s Apple sage sausage. The red potatoes were really good. The mimosa was not very good. I tried the tiger lily with orange juice, fresh lemonade And cranberry.

Came here for breakfast. Looked like an office building but whatever, it’s all about the food. I just wanted some scrabbled eggs with sausage and bacon mixed in with potatoes and onions. I got exactly that. Thanks! Good food and service.

Being taken to this place by two different Seattlelites independently from each other is already a pretty good indicator of the quality of the place. CJ’s is centrally located in Belltown and a great place for breakfast — it’s nice, it’s clean, it’s friendly, service is fast, and the food leaves nothing to ask for(except a second stomach-portions are sizeable!). There are veggie options too — on my last two visits I went for a Greek skillet, a lovely mix of fried red potatoes, spinach, feta… all topped off with eggs of your choice. My second pick were veggie eggs Benedict(you don’t just get the usual Florentine choice of Spinach, avocado or tomato are also on the menu), bit heavy on the hollandaise but otherwise delicious. If you go for breakfast here don’t plan on having lunch — you won’t need it!

We’ve all been there. You wake up one weekend morning, a little stiff and blurry-eyed from the night before. You feel like eating a real breakfast. Not some haute cuisine masterpiece from a crowded, trendy hot spot, but some thing and some place simple. A comfortable local spot that serves breakfast all day with friendly people and good service. A place with pancakes and french toast and eggs and toast and Benedicts and omelettes and fresh juice and coffee. A place that serves real shredded hash browns and not those damn country potatoes so many places are in love with. You know, BREAKFAST! If this is what you’re looking for then look no further. CJ’s is a local diner with friendly service, a great menu, and a nice location. The food isn’t fancy, or unique, or so much better than other diners. But it is consistently good, and served by great people who are cheerful and friendly. Too me, CJ’s is perfect. So when you get that hankering, now you know where to go.

Since the first time I went to CJ’s, it was love at first bite. They have something for everyone and no one will leave hungry or disappointed. Although I have my few go-to menu items, I love that they do weekly specials. Their coffee is rich and flavorful, the staff is friendly and attentive, their prices are more than reasonable. I have never had a bad meal here and I sometimes wake up in the morning craving their greek skillet(my go-to). My only complaint is I wish their hours were longer because my craving for breakfast doesn’t end at 3PM. If you are in the area and are indecisive about where to go, stop in here and you won’t be disappointed. Guaranteed to satisfy even the pickiest of people.

Good breakfasts(my girlfriend’s was better) with a view of the space needle. It feels like a store front, with two full walls of windows, to be honest the place has a crappy flow to it, and the foyer/hostess station is hideous. However, the view provided out those windows kept my eyes averted, so all was well. Service was great and courteous. In fact, we were seated almost immediately, in spite of a full house, at a near manic pace. The food was good, but the biscuits and gravy were ORGASMIC!!!(And I HATE biscuits and gravy!) The herb gravy really made it extra yummy! All around, I recommend!
