Michael is hands down, absolutely zero doubt in my mind, the best stylist I’ve ever had. I have gone into Cleverish the Salon with a collection of vague descriptions or Pinterest photos and Michael is able to easily translate them into my best haircuts. Every time I walk out of Michaels studio, I repeat to myself, «No, THIS is the best haircut I’ve ever had!» Every. Single. Time.

I’ve been following Michael from salon to salon for 20 years. From Capitol Hill to First Hill to Downtown Seattle. He’s now in his own salon on Terry Ave. All I can say is if you follow someone for 20 years, then they must be the best. Michael is truly the best! If you want a great hair style, he’s the one to see. My son and my husband also get their hair styled by Michael. The dog visits Michael too, but he just lounges on the floor, feeling quite at home, like Michael makes everyone feel.

Michael has been cutting my hair for the past few years and he always does a great job. He also styled my hair for my wedding, and just recently turned my hair from plain brown to a lovely natural looking ginger. I am a photographer and have used Michael as a hair stylist for many of my shoots. He is very easy going and I am always happy with his work. I highly recommend you to trust him with your hair!

I’ve been coming to see Michael for YEARS (not saying how many). I like to receive the compliments I get on my hair, but I know who the real artist and miracle worker is. Michael has the vision no matter how I try to describe what I’m looking for. You will be hard pressed to find a better haircut, color, or great guy in all of Seattle.

Michael’s new space is the perfect environment to relax, chat, and (dare I say?) gossip during your appointment. As always, his services are consistently top-​notch. Not sure how he does it, but I can go months without a partial — which speaks to the level of skill he has as a colorist, as I am significantly blonder than my natural dark brown. Also, Michael has seen me through multiple lengths of bang trims, blond to espresso, short bob to long layers– and I always leave satisfied.

I don’t write many reviews, but I just went to Michael’s new salon today and it was such a great experience I just had to gush about it. As the previous reviewer said, it’s nice and private, but the best part was getting to meet some of Michael’s other clients while I was ‘processing’, instead of feeling intimidated by some other stylist’s client.
I’ve been seeing Michael for over 15 years and I think this is his best space yet!
And, parking on the street at $ 2/​hour can’t be beat!

I love Michael’s new space, Cleverish! It’s comfortable & inviting, but very private & quiet. I enjoy the chance to relax and get excellent service without the noise or interference you typically get in a salon. Custom music choices are nice too! Be sure to visit Michael in this great new location!
Bonus: easy & cheap parking lot right next door!
