Coast Gateway Hotel

Got moved from my room to another without being notified by phone while I was working. Came back to this mess after I had to go back downstairs as they had locked me out of my room. Huge hassle.
They told me all my stuff was moved for me but it was not. It was in the midst of all their mess. Wouldn’t they have tried to get the job done at least?
They gave me nothing for my hassle.
I thought this place was okay but I won’t recommend it to anyone at this point.
Maybe now a manager might acknowledge my concern and call me and let me know why I couldn’t be handled a little better. This was a huge huge hassle and their procedures are obviously poor.
Otherwise front desk is friendly, breakfast buffet is okay, rooms are okay for the price of they don’t kick you out of your room.

I give this four stars in my opinion. The rooms are clean the beds are comfy and their is plenty of channels to watch on the tv. It’s an older hotel so don’t expect perfection. It appears well taken care of. The continental breakfast is pretty decent. They have fresh waffles, blue berry or plain which you make yourself. A selection of juices and milk. Yogurt, English muffins, bagels, hard boiled eggs, link sausage, two kinds of cereal, fresh coffee and the normal condiments you get with breakfast. The Internet is crazy fast for free. I posted a pic of the speeds and it never once slowed down the three days I stayed. I also must add that the staff was super courteous and helpful.

My spousal unit found this on Expedia or some like service. The price was very good, especially considering it included wifi, parking and a pretty complete continental breakfast. Factoring those things included in the room rate, the Gateway was $ 30 to $ 50 less expensive than other similar hotels in the area (reality: no airport hotel is «inexpensive»).
It is an easy in/​out to the hotel with their own traffic light. There is a restaurant next door (not connected) for lunch/​dinners. Wally Park is next door, so possibly you can park one night «free» at the Gateway before parking at Wally Park on the day of your flight. Another savings!
The rooms and facility are very well maintained. The rooms are quite nice, modern, clean, and well appointed: Coffee maker, full cable, wide screen TV, mini fridge and micro wave, comfy beds.
We had a room on the airport side. There was some plane noise but honestly, it was on par with the in-​room air conditioner/​heater.
Check in /​check out were easy. The front desk lady (a fellow red head) heard us talking about where we were going for dinner (13 Coins) and offered a $ 10 off coupon to use there.
As once a 150,000 mile/​year business traveler who knows hotels here and internationally, this is a solid 4 star airport facility with an extra «atta way» for the value

The gal at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We originally booked a room with only one bed and when they saw there were 2 of us they changed us to a room with 2 beds.
The airport shuttle was there when we got to the airport and was on time to get us back in the am.
The beds were comfy and the room was cozy. This hotel is literally right next to the airport however it is insulated well so airtraffic did not keep us awake (we live in the country and are used to really quite).
Yes you could probably find a cheaper hotel close by however you may not get the same 5 star service you do at this hotel.
Will definitely stay here again.

Arrived at Hotel tired and ready to check in. Unfortunately the receptionist doesn’t like her job and couldn’t greet us with a smile or any type of welcome. She is not cordial and has no idea of hospitality. We haven’t had luck with Coast Gateway Chains and will take our business elsewhere. The one in Vancouver, BC on Comox has bedbugs. Fortunately this one was better as their mattresses are completely zipped with a cover. The other hotel was not. Just don’t have a good feeling with this chain. The room was small for 3 people and could hear the guy next door snoring. (Connecting locked doors have no buffer). I’ll take my business elsewhere to an establishment that can at least say good evening or welcome. We got nothing!

Dated décor and not even close to being worth the money spent to book this place.
The view of the backside of the airport was less than spectacular.
The sheets seemed old and dingy.

were deceiving and the hotel did not live up to expectations nor the standards set by the neighboring

We stayed here for a night. Was quite, clean, very affordable. Was near airport but we didn’t really hear the planes. Pet friendly with no extra cost which was a nice surprise. Breakfast was ok, just the normal continental, no eggs, or cooked food. I would stay again.

This hotel it’s very nice and clean they have free wifi and the rooms are really clean also plus free continental breakfast. And you have even laundry machines to wash your clothes. & at the same time there pet friendly to so I guess you can go wrong with that mostly hotels don’t have that. Plus you have a lot of restaurants near you and the airport it’s only few blocks away from the hotel and rental cars to. The only thing they need to work on its more on the parking lot I guess it’s to small for the hotel”

This hotel smells like an ashtray. The moment you get off the elevator on the guest floors, you are greeted with the distinct smell of chain smokers and and a crowded nightclub. This is not the place to stay with young children!

I got this hotel through
. I requested a room for 2 adults on Hotwire. When I checked in the front desk informed me of a $ 20 per day surcharge for requesting 2 separate beds. even though I made the reservation for two adults. I’ve stayed at this same hotel about six times before, and have been given rooms with two beds in the past while staying alone. Don’t appreciate the pointless upcharge. The extra $ 44.56 ambush at check-​in was unpleasant and then you realize you’ve paid more than the rack-​rate at the hotel. Sigh. Rooms are pleasant and clean. There’s a lot of plumbing noise in the hotel tho. Water or showers being run in rooms adjacent to yours or above you, is quite noticeable. The only saving grace for the breakfast bar is the waffle machine.

Jackpot, as far as I’m concerned. Everything you could want in an airport hotel — Friendly and efficient staff, solid room, a surprisingly diverse selection of HBO channels (I guess I knew in the back of my mind that HBO and ESPN are now in competition to see which network will be the first to debut «The Ocho» in a non-​ironic manner), good coffee, and some very nice bathrobes to boot.
Combine that with at least a decent breakfast selection (nothing fancy but enough to get you going if you’re not picky) and you’ve got a solid airport hotel option. On the way out after check in, we saw numerous flight crews going in and out, so I completely get why. Never heard of Coast Gateway before we made it up this way, but I’ll definitely keep an eye out for them again.

Good room. No noise. Nice sleep at night.
But the continental breakfast disappointing. They should stop if they don’t want to improve.
I wanted a heavy breakfast before my flight as I don’t have time. I thought I will get it but I was disappointed. No scramble eggs, no hash browns. Etc. Coffee also not good.

We stayed here the night before a cruise and found this place nice. It is showing signs of age and it is obvious it is an older building.
The room cooled enough to sleep but had a slight off odor that was noticeable after leaving the room then returning so it was not overly offensive. The bed was comfortable and has plenty of pillows.
The TV was a good size and had many channels so a plus here.
The breakfast area was too small to serve the crowd and the food typical.
The parking area is very small and it is shared with a restaurant.

I really liked this hotel. I was voluntarily bumped for the last leg of my trip on Alaska Airlines and they put me up in this hotel.
Let me list the reasons I liked this hotel.
1. I walked to it from the airport. It wasn’t far at all.
2. The front desk staff knew exactly what was going on when I handed them the voucher for the room.
3. The room was nice. Seemed to be a rebranded Marriot or something. I got a ground floor room so it had high ceilings and a very comfortable bed.
4. Within walking distance of the Light Rail. I decided to head to downtown Seattle for $ 5.75 round trip and it was totally a steal!
5. In the parking lot is a great restaurant with a cool late night cheapo menu.
6. They also have a shuttle if you have too many bags to lug to the airport.
I will probably return to this hotel in the future. I am a Seattle sports team fan, so hopefully I will get to go see another Sounders or Seahawks game, and this would be a great place to lay my weary head after cheering on my team.

I stayed here for a quick overnight. Overall I had a good experience and recommend.
The Shuttle: Quick, convenient and free. Although I did tip.
Check in: Fast and friendly
Rooms: Comfortable bed. Clean shower. Nice coffee maker and fridge in room. Flat screen TV, although limited channels.
Fitness: Three machines in decent condition, weights and a bathroom. Nice and cool inside. Provides cups for water.
Continental Breakfast: Ok selection. Waffles, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, toast, mini bagels and muffins, oatmeal, fruit selection, some cereal, coffee, tea and hot cocoa.

This is a functional hotel, so it gets a functional review.
Of note:
+ VERY VERY VERY close to the airport, this is a very good thing, you can actually walk to the airport in 5 – 10 mins along a nice sidewalk. I have no idea why this is not made more of, since it’s extremely nice to be able to walk and not have to wait for buses.
— The SLOWEST WI-​FI I have ever experienced. I’ve accessed the internet in war torn republics, in late 90’s China and NEVER had as slow access, for ALL intents and purposes it will not work. Assume no wifi and you be ok.
— Very tired looking décor, I don’t know why I cared so much for a simple few hour sleep, but the room was so tired, so drab, so pathetic, I actually felt like my heart may stop beating in the middle of the night due to a sense of futility about life, emanating from the décor.
+ Clean.
— Small bed, it was a queen, not like the room was tiny, but it was a bit small for my giant legs.
+ Comfy bed and nice sheets, felt like most people would sleep well.
+ Very quiet.
+ I booked with one of those sites we can’t mention so the cost of the room was about one benjamin. If it had been a bit more, this would have been way too much.
So 2 stars, many for the closeness and comfyness and a lot taken off due to the sense of depression this place instilled in me.

TIRED, TIRED, TIRED… For shuttle service from the airport you call the front desk… after answering our call we were put on hold for about 5 minutes. then…it took the shuttle two passes before we managed to get a ride and that was just the beginning of our disappointment… the rooms are small, the bathroom was worn out, the tv was way off center from the bed, the AT&Tinternet a complete waste of time as you could almost watch the digits assembling as they slogged they way onto your monitor… find another hotel… like the Hilton just across the street from the airport… or for a splurge, luxuriate in the wonderful Cedarbrook Lodge (206) 901−9268…I have stayed at the majority of the Seatac hotels over the decades and this is the most uncomfortable…

This is a safe simple place to lay your head for the night, but I would not expect too much more.
The room was clean but a little run down and looked well used. The staff seemed tired and unhelpful. And the breakfast was crappy coffee and processed foods. I won’t be coming back.

I got to visit The Coast Gateway Hotel twice in one week to take a nap in before and after Sasquatch Music festival in between my flights.
Talk about convenience! Located seconds away from the airport (via free hotel shuttle service) I was able to maximize rest time. The rooms were A-​OK and equipped standardly. There are flat screen TVs, free WiFi, and the water pressure from the shower was outstanding!
Breakfast and coffee were a one star for me. The food was all processed and there was not a healthy option in sight –not even a banana for my hungry belly. In this case, coffee is my breakfast. However, the coffee was weak and served in styrofoam cups. Yes, styrofoam cups are bad for the planet but also equally make coffee taste bad in my opinion.
In conclusion, I’d stay here again under the circumstances I was in but make sure I had a go-​to coffee shop nearby.

The Coast Hotel chain runs through smaller cities in the Pacific Northwest on both sides of the border. I grew up familiar with the nautilus swirl of the chain, and since their Coast Hotel was one of the nicest in the city where I grew up, I reserve a certain bit of nostalgia.
Most hotels in this chain fit a solid 2.5 stars on the scale, providing amenities like laundry, wi-​fi, indoor pools, and shuttle service to the airports. It fits in the same category as Ramada Inns, lower end Marriott hotels, and Comfort Inns and Suites.
I have used the Coast Gateway for late night or very early morning flights out of Sea-​Tac, particularly when red eyes to Chicago used to be more commonplace. At most a five minute drive away from the airport’s main terminal, their regular shuttle can be coordinated with your wake-​up call as soon as you check in. Staff is efficient and prompt about making arrangements for business and leisure travelers alike. They go so far as to make sure you’ve got your luggage ready to go and the drivers have always been courteous, efficient, and full of interesting anecdotes to make your travel experience better.
My visits here never coincided with their periods of construction or upgrades. The hotel rooms are large and well-​appointed with comfortable beds, the usual desk layout with extra jacks for computers and electronic devices that need recharging. Furnishings and rooms were clean, and plenty of towels and a few extra pillows can usually be found. For two people, the queen bed (or the two queens) is more than adequate. I do not make use of the pool or fitness centres at these hotels, usually as I’m concentrating on trying to sleep the night before/​after the flight, as I’m cursed with an inability to sleep on a plane.
Check-​in was seamless thanks to online booking and I didn’t have any trouble with them locating my reservation. It’s worth looking for discounts, coupons, or participation in the usual hotel discounters.
Avoid any of the rooms facing the street. The quieter ones are to the back and on higher floors. The décor here is probably dated since the last time I stayed.
