For over a year I’ve been working in the heart of Downtown Seattle where Contigo sets up shop 1 – 2 times a week and not once had I had it! Until last week, that is. And I call myself a Mexican food lover… Contigo isn’t your typical Mexican taco truck but it sure is a tasty Mexican fusion truck. My first taste of Contigo was the 2 tacos plate which comes with your choice of rice and beans or mint slaw. I went with the rice and beans to round out my tacos into a more substantial meal. The rice and beans were decent: slow cooked pinto beans and your typical Mexican style rice, garnished with a healthy flourish of cilantro for a kick. My only complaint was the beans needed to be cooked just a tad longer as they were a bit al dente for my taste. The tacos were mighty tasty. I ordered one carnitas(my fav) and one chicken mole. The carnitas were juicy, succelent and rich in flavor, likely from the guajillo-chile sauce. The fusion part came into play with a garnish of mint cilantro slaw atop the big meaty taco. Different but delicious! I never would’ve paired mint with Mexican food but it worked. The chicken mole was a nice treat since I love mole but rarely see the complex flavors of mole in a taco. I think it was good not great, mainly because the chicken was dry. That being said, the beautiful flavors of Oaxacan-style black mole were on point, complimented by sour cream, queso fresco, onion and cilantro. I would even order it again and just get over the dry chicken. Will definitely be returning to Contigo — especially since on my last visit they offered me a $ 1 off coupon! Score!

Good fusion mexican food. The tacos are very tasty. The habanero lemonade is perfect.

My boss and I first encountered the Contigo food truck when one of our work neighbors had a food truck picnic. We were hooked! The habanero lemonade is outstanding! As a result, the Contigo food truck just catered our company picnic at Des Moines Beach Park and our team can’t stop talking about the food! The mushroom tacos(my personal favorite) and the salad were particularly commented upon. The staff, Erik in particular, were awesome to work with and people loved that the food was fresh, made to order and made really quickly. I loved the fact that I could relax and enjoy myself while someone else did the cooking. I would highly recommend Contigo to anyone who wants to have fun and great food at their next event. Thank you, Contigo, so much for helping to make our event the success that it was.

Contigo just catered a surprise 30th birthday party I threw for my wife, and they did a great job. Erik and the team were awesome! We went with three taco options(Chicken, Pork, and Sweet Potato), as well as rice and beans, and everyone loved the food. The Sweet Potato tacos were excellent. The habanero lemonade was also a big hit. Beyond the food being great, the reason this is a 5-star review is because Erik was so great to work with, and everyone was extremely nice and helpful. Rachel was very friendly and even helped with event cleanup. I believe they had to work another event earlier in the day, but they still handled ours with professionalism and enthusiasm. :) Drew worked as the bartender for our event, and did an outstanding job. He helped with setup of the bar area and kept it organized and cleaned up. I’d highly recommend these guys.

Hired them out for catering at our company’s HQ for Cinco De Mayo, very good! The staff was a pleasure to work with in prepping for the event and during. The food was very yummy, the sweet potato gordita was my very favorite.

Good food truck. Prices are very reasonable. Try the habanero lemonade it something worth waiting for. The menu is a little limited but perfect for a food truck. The tacos were amazing. I could eat them all day long. This is the second time I have eaten at this food truck and I must say I have been very pleased both times. Find this truck and enjoy.

For a Mexican food truck, I was definitely surprised by the fancy pants of it. Throw away old notions of small corn tortillas with measly chopped up meats, cilantro and onions. This is a dish-worthy meal, which just happens to be presented in a brown box. Taste-wise, it was a little bland for how fiery it looked. Nothing that I would chase down, waving my dollar bills for. Speaking of which, it’s expensive. And I’m not sure why there’s a 15/20% tip option on the iPad when it’s take out.

They’ve changed the menu from the one presented in photos here. Now instead of ordering tacos and tortes individually, you buy a taco plate(2) with side(either slaw or rice & beans). I didn’t really want a side, so that for $ 8.75 instead of tacos 1 per $ 2.50(or $ 3 for the beef) didn’t seem like an improvement at all, but I’d already walked several blocks to the truck and was hungry! I had the chicken mole taco and the pork shoulder taco(they at least let me split up my taco choices). Good flavor to the mole, if you like mole(I’m not a huge fan but tried it anyway). I didn’t think there was a lot of chicken, and it is just diced chicken. I’d rather have slow-cooked and pulled. I liked this taco better when I added some of the mint slaw from the side. There was more meat to the pork, and it’s good, but not exceptional. There is mint slaw on this already. I ended up eating the pork on the slaw, sans taco, and liked that better. I would love if this were an option as a bowl. They had bowls on the menu with rice and beans. The woman at the counter seemed nice so I will try asking for this next time! I really liked the mint slaw. The habanero lemonade is fun.

Over the years, Contigo has continued to up their game. I’ve had a number of chances to eat at the truck over the last year and have noticed some changes. My favorite tacos are the mushroom and pork. I’m a meat eater but can appreciate well cooked, thoughtful, executed vegetable dishes like this mushroom taco. The pork itself has good flavors and make for a good taco for a few bucks. The diablo sauce is a bit too hot for my liking but I appreciate that it’s available. NOTE: Hint #1 was the word«diablo.» Each taco is around $ 2.50 and are a tiny bit small. Habanero lemonade. That’s right. It’s exactly as it sounds. If you don’t like spicy, don’t bother and don’t be a hero either. If you gulp it too fast, you’ll end up coughing and choking. After the fit is over, you’ll reach for another swig. I do it and saw a number of people do the same thing today at the Mobile Food Rodeo. I love that spice and have to have it!

I was at KEXP to volunteer and the Contigo truck was there feeding volunteers for free! So kudos for this, because awesome. I tried the carnitas tacos with mint slaw. YUM. 3 of these yummy packets of goodness set me up nicely for a 3-hour stint answering phones during a fund drive. Thanks Contigo!

Ameri tacos? I dunno, I need to come up with a funky name because they give you some funky tacos. Not that funky is a bad thing. I got to try this truck out at they Unilocal winter party. I got the mushroom taco and it was delicious. There was creamy substance that definitely made it unique. Funky Fresh i’d say. I would definitely try it again, I think you should try it also… so you can get some funkiness in your mouth too.

Contigo is a delight, pure and simple. The tacos, while small, are uniquely flavorful. Unlike other Mexican places, ranging from Azteca to Taco Bell, where the flavors tend to each blend one into another, each variety ar Contigo is distinct. From the Carnitas to shredded beef to creamy mushroom, the flavors of each one stand out very nicely. The real draw for me, though, is the gorditas, little wonders of fried dough around fillings sweet or savory. Again, these are small but delicious, and well worth it. And definitely do not miss out on the habanero lemonade, a magic drink that somehow tastes like normal lemonade with the kick of a spicy pepper… both light and fruity with a healthy zing. The service is friendly, inviting, and fast. Today(my second visit to Contigo) I was given a discount for wearing my Seahawks shirt and we had a good chat about players both old and new while I waited just a few minutes for my food. Delicious, unique, and surprising flavors served with a friendly attitude. Other than small portion sizes, Contigo is very nearly the perfect lunch truck, if you’re in the mood for a little kick!

I think I first took notice of this truck at a Cinco de Mayo taco truck showdown. It and el camino(the defending taco showdown winner) had HUGE lines, and I didn’t have much time, so I opted for a different truck, but always thought to myself«someday, I need to eat at that truck.» Today was finally the day, and it was worth the wait. While smaller than your typical taco truck taco, these street tacos are loaded with delicious flavors and are of much higher quality. I had the chicken mole because well, I love chicken mole. Definitely would recommend.

When I see their truck outside my building, it’s nearly impossible to resist. Their tacos, while small, are so tasty! My favorite is the beef short ribs, with the crispy tortilla strips and the fresh arugula and onion jam. I also love their beans, they have the perfect amount of «kick». 2nd favorite are the mushrooms. I love they are outside my building at least once a week!

I had the sopa Azteca(basically an unusually spicy tortilla soup) and a mushroom taco. The pieces of chicken in the soup were large and tender, all white meat, and the tomato broth was spicy and sharp, very tasty. The mushroom taco felt a bit obligatorily vegetarian and didn’t wow me, but it wasn’t terrible either. And man, going to food trucks late in the season is a COLDCOLD proposition! Just an FYI… at least the chill keeps the lines nice and short!

Never been to their sitdown location but have been fortunate to have their food truck nearby and visited them twice. They serve really healthy Mexican food and it so convenient from a truck. The tacos are small and delicate rather than being the normal monster size. That makes them delicate and light. The tortillas are similarly flavorful and light. Very different from the Safeway variety :-) We also tried the bowl. Wow that is quite a good deal. The beans are delicious and not too salty. The rice is good and the carnitas were delicious.

These guys need a lesson in bringing enough food to meet demand. At a recent movie night at Marymoor Park, Contigo and their underwear-exposed, no hairnet-wearing order taker, failed to alert a line of 50-plus people that his truck was out of almost everything. Nevermind the unbelievably slow service, and delivering half orders 15 minutes before calling out the completion of an order. I don’t know if this food was as good as other reviewers have said, because this was a completely terrible experience.

I realized that I was being petty and knocked off a star for Contigo mostly just because they don’t have great hours. However, that is a major factor; I was enchanted by the authenticity of the food and, of course, the Habanero Lemonade… but they are pretty tough to find and I personally haven’t been able to locate them after the first time I saw them in my office parking lot. So, I’m upgrading my review in the hopes that eventually we’ll see more awesome stuff from this friendly and delicious food truck.

This is one of those situations where half a star would really come in handy because I liked this place, but I like Fusion on the Run(a 4-star place) better. So, does that mean Contigo is only A-OK? Well, let’s review and see. I was actually headed to Off the Rez, but a bitingly cold wind that carried with it the threat of icy raindrops caused a last minute alteration of plans when I spotted the Contigo food truck across the street from my office. There were a few people waiting for food, but no line and some immediately-available tacos and the chance to get back inside where it was warm trumped my desire for frybread. I ordered the chicken mole and carnitas tacos(2 for $ 5), and a sweet potato and pecan gordita($ 2). I must confess I had no idea what a gordita was, but I figured anything with sweet potatoes and pecans was bound to be good. As the gordita ended up being my favorite item, this was a good guess. The tacos themselves were ok, but nothing memorable, and as the foil covering was haphazardly applied after I had already gotten the food, they probably lost more heat than ideal. I’d stop by again, especially for those gorditas, but if Fusion were parked closer, I’d head there, hands-down. That makes Contigo A-OK in my book.

WOW — all the 5 star reviews are well worth it. Holy cow that mushroom taco was DELICIOUS! It was the most«complex» and flavorful taco that I’ve ever had — mushroom, poblano crème, pumpkin seeds, YUM. I also tried 2 gorditos. The spicy kale one was good but a little tough and chewy(like kale is). The 3 cheese one was INCREDIBLE. Salty, flaky, easy to eat. Food came out remarkably fast for the size of the line. However, portions are SMALL. And yes, I’m only paying $ 2 for a taco/gordito but they are tiny! Viva la Food Truck Revolution!
