Cupcake Royal is exceptional at their craft. Gorgeous cupcakes to look at, and even better to eat. The«Kate» is my personal favorite, rich buttercream frosting in pink, over a moist and fresh chocolate cake. The coffee has also become a morning favorite. Seemingly without fail, Cupcake royal makes the mundane latte decadent. I rarely end up grabbing a lid because I enjoy drinking the velvet foam too much. Highly recommend, and I will be a regular for as long as I can be.

Delicious cupcakes. The flavor is all in the frosting. Totally worth trying at least once.

I did not partake of the cupcake madness but I did have some bomb ass cold brew coffee served by a bomb ass young lady. They only have one size and the drink runs about 4 $ and some change. It was a bit chaotic, because there were lots of people ducking inside from the heat and sun. We had already eaten elsewhere, so I did not have an appetite for cupcakes, which is why this place gets an A-OK 3-star review.

Cupcake Royale on 108 Pine St. was the starting point for the Chocolate Indulgence Tour that my husband and I did. We started with a little background history of the business and founder/owner. During the tour we tried the chocolate cupcake baby(I honestly forgot the official name of the cupcake, I «think» it was death by chocolate) & some of their chocolate ice cream. It was a mini chocolate based cupcake, with chocolate icing and chocolate shavings. The cupcake was nice and chocolatey and was moist which was a little surprising bc most cupcakes at cupcake shops are dry. The ice cream was rich and you literally only need a little taste to be satisfied. I’m not a big fan of chocolate ice cream so I didn’t eat much. I just tasted it, literally. If you like chocolate ice cream I think you will like theirs a lot. After the tour was over, I stopped by a cupcake stand they had on the waterfront pier and bought 3 actual size cupcakes. I bought the Red Velvet, Dance Party, and Lavender Cupcake. The Red Velvet was very good and moist as well. I was very surprised by this as I am a Red Velvet lover and connoisseur of all things Red Velvet. I am very picky when it comes to Red Velvet cake, and most bakeries just can’t seem to get it right, but Cupcake Royale did a good job. The cream cheese icing was also good. Just a good cupcake. The Dance Party was a vanilla cupcake with pink icing. The cake was very moist. Also good. The Lavender Cupcake was a vanilla cupcake with Lavender in the icing. I wanted to try this as I have never tasted Lavender. The icing was actually good and not overpowering with Lavender flavor. A nice subtle taste. Also, a good cupcake. Overall, Cupcake Royale has some good cupcakes that are MOIST. I would recommend them to others and they are definitely worth a try.

Cupcakes and ice cream. Yea, that’s been done. But cupcakes mixed into the ice cream? Now that’s something that most places can’t pull off. Cupcake Royale’s salted caramel cupcake ice cream does just that. It’s the best of both worlds(cupcakes and ice cream) without detracting from either. Too bad I only got one scoop.

I’ve been eating Cupcake Royale cupcakes for nearly a decade. After moving back to Seattle, I came back to try the cupcakes, and found myself at this location on Free Cone Day. My cousins and I indulged in scoops of their red velvet, coffee, peppermint with fudge ribbon, and rhubarb rose ice cream and sorbet. The ice creams were chock full of flavor and creamy goodness. I was pleasantly surprised with the peppermint ice cream and its likeness to peppermint patties. The rhubarb rose had a subtle rose flavor that made it enjoyable on a waffle cone. There is ample seating for larger groups inside and even small tables outside. In addition to cupcakes and ice cream, Cupcake Royale has a full espresso bar. Overall, you can’t beat generous portions of free quality ice cream on a sunny Seattle afternoon.

One of my favorite things that Cupcake Royale has that other places don’t is their red velvet ice cream cone! It goes hand in hand with their red velvet ice cream. Every summer they have good specials to take advantage of and cool off with in the Seattle heat! Their cupcakes are scrumpdillyumptious too!(Which is why UW sells them at select campus eatery locations.) I’m definitely guilty of eating Cupcake Royale’s yummy treats on campus because they are fun to reward yourself with after a hard final or long week!

We had a double scoop of chocolate in a cone with a cup(because we’re clumsy with ice cream and we wanted to savor all of it). It was creamy and rich and chocolatey. Tip, you can have a flight sampler if you don’t know what flavor to get; $ 8 for four small scoops.

Always and Forever my one stop shop for delicious ice cream, cupcakes, and cookies!!! I was craving ice cream one mild afternoon in downtown Seattle. I hadn’t even thought about stopping at Cupcake Royale before heading to the Market, but saw it and had to push my boyfriend inside to grab some much needed sweets(I get hangry when I don’t get my chocolate fix). I’ve been here multiple times, but this time around I got an ice cream sandwich with a bacon crack and sea salt chocolate chip cookie, with Washington hazelnut brittle ice cream. Oh my gosh, it was a party in my mouth and tummy! All the flavors I decided to go with melded together really well. I’ll definitely be back again soon for some more deliciousness.

If you are in the mood for sweets, you cannot go wrong here. In addition to the creative and wonderful cupcakes(take your chances, or go for Salty Caramel), they also have wonderful Molly Moo ice cream(stump town coffee with chocolate ribbons). Whenever I came back from Pike Place, I pretty much will stop by. At least to test my will power in resisting to go in.

When you can order a scrumptious vegan cupcake at a place like Cupcake Royale, all is right in the world, at least for a moment! This particular location closes a little earlier than I’d like, as on more than a few times I want to get dessert past 7 pm and can’t stop by. There’s not been one time I’ve been here that a vegan cupcake wasn’t available, however on my last trip I snagged the last three. So, I’d say it[’s time for CR to start making some more of those delicious things!(Seriously, you’d never even know they’re vegan!) As for the service, the organization of the line is a little chaotic and the staff didn’t really care to go in order of those who were waiting, which was a little disappointing. But, has only happened a couple times. Thank you CR for being so accommodating!

My FAVORITE cupcake place in Seattle! The place itself is super cute and very welcoming. When you first walk in, the staff is always super friendly and helpful. They also provide free Wi-Fi so that’s always a plus in my book. The place is also very spacious so if you’re looking to stay for a while, you won’t feel rushed to give up your seat when you’re finished with your goodies. My favorite cupcake would be the coconut bunny and the lavender. I’m a HUGE coconut fan so of course my always go to would be this bad boy. The coconut bunny’s frosting literally melts in your mouth and the lavender just has a unique very calming taste that makes it super addicting. The tiramisu is also on my top favorites as well! Im normally super picky about my cupcakes because of the cake itself, but their cake is very pound like/angel cake like which tends to make it feel more moist. I normally love my frosting but I can eat the cake by itself without feeling that dryness. Overall, I love Cupcake Royale and I would highly recommend this spot if you have a sweet tooth or if you’re looking for cupcakes as a birthday treat for your peps :)

Amazing flavors of ice cream and cupcakes. after sampling a few of their delicious homemade ice creams, I tried a scoop of the Washington brittle and the bananza and oh mylanta! I have issues with ice cream and when a creamery says they are homemade, I can usually tell if it’s truly homemade or not. Since I didn’t leave passing incredible gas, I can attest that yep, it’s homemade. I also added a vanilla baby cake cupcake to my ice cream and snagged a lavender cupcake to go.

Cupcake Royale has my favorite cupcakes in Seattle. How they make the cake portion might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I like that it is more dense than the average cupcake. It doesn’t fall apart when you bite into it, and it also is not as oily as other cupcakes. I love their seasonal flavors and that is what keeps me coming back. I think the topping is perfect; it is not piled on and it’s not to sweet(as long as you get a good bite of the cake, too). My favorite cupcake flavors so far have been pistachio, ginger(both seasonal), and lavender(year-round). We arrived an hour before closing once, and was strong-armed into buying 3 cupcakes and getting 3 free because they had made too many cupcakes. Great deal, but I had way too many cupcakes!

My friends were raving about how amazing the cupcakes here were while on a mini vacation in Seattle. I’m not the biggest cupcake fan, so I chose not to buy one. But then my trip was nearing its end and I had a feeling I’d regret it if I didn’t try just one. I decided to go with the tiramisu cupcake and I was blown away!!! The tiramisu cream on top was perfect! The reason why I don’t really like cupcakes is because of the cake part. But the cupcakes here are more like pound cakes so they’re more moist and spongy. Totally in a good way!!! It keeps the cake from falling apart. I later came back for ice cream. The workers there are so kind and let me sample almost every flavor. I got a baby scoop(which is a size of a golf ball more or less) of the hazelnut and it was fantastic as well!!! Now I’m regretting not trying the other cupcake flavors :(

I was slightly disappointed. I got the smokey Oakey and the cake was dense and not sponges. The icing is too rich. He fiancé got the Royale b-52. It was yummy and fun but again too rich. However there was free filtered water to help wash the sweetness down! Too sweet for me, but hey if this is you… Please disregard this review! We went based on a staff’s recommendation and by the popularity of the cupcakes. It was ok.

I stumbled upon this place as I started walking up Pike Street. Strange But true i didnt even like cupcakes so much before i bumped into this Place: they have an excellent choice, classics and cupcakes Of The day. Cupcakes that are so pretty you almost hate to eat them. But, voila! They taste better than they look. They sell minis if you don’t want to eat the regular size. There was a line, but they kept it moving — the staff was friendly and engaging! Sampling was allowed and encouraged! The staff was super friendly and the place was super cute! I highly recommended stopping off by this location if you’ve a sweet tooth craving and like cupcakes or ice cream.

Cupcakes, coffee, ice cream– and seats to sit and linger with your treats! Open kitchen, you see everything that’s happening, and the seating in the back(longer table), looks like it would belong in more of an industrial or loft building, as opposed to the typical cutesy tables and chairs you might expect from a café store. It’s an interesting décor. Overall, seating is limited — one round table up front, the other big long table at the back(maybe seat 6 – 8?). Saw a guy sitting alone at that big table with his laptop. I personally would never stay at a cupcake place with my laptop, only because I need to go home and gorge on my fatty treats in the privacy of my own home, smearing that frosting all over my face. But I think it’s a nice place to sit and stay awhile, with all the yummy smells and lively chatter of tourists or families in the background. The one woman working there(or that I saw upfront) was super friendly and patient — there weren’t a lot of customers, but it was a steady flow and one man was rude to her, demanding she bring him his drink, and she remained pleasant and calm. Kudos to her! I would have chucked that drink at him. The cupcakes looked huge! More like muffins from the size of them! But then when I took it home it didn’t look quite as big, haha. Maybe an awesome display case that creates the illusion of bigger treats? Hmm… Anyway, got a vanilla cupcake with chocolate frosting. At first, the cupcake was super pale, lighter in color than vanilla angel cake. I was skeptical of how it would taste, but hey, it’s a cupcake — how bad could it be? Well, it was absolutely delicious. Very moist, soft, and fluffy, my favorite kind of cupcake! And you can really taste the vanilla. Since the cake was so light and airy, the sweet buttercream frosting really complemented it well. Now I truly wish I had gotten some more of them. But of course, here’s the kicker, pricey, super pricey, at $ 3.95. These days, that’s the norm, but it is a tad expensive. This location is also really close to Pike Place Market — so do your shopping, grab some food, and head over here for dessert!

This is the closest cupcake shop to Pike’s Market. It is a hop and a skip from the main entrance of Pike’s Market. They offer more than just cupcakes, they also offer ice cream and coffee. Usually they have other goodies for sell as well. They have a little bit of seating making it a good spot to take a rest when touring Seattle. The cupcakes are the main attraction here. They usually offer about a dozen different cupcakes. The flavors are really unique and vary to make things interesting. The cupcakes are huge, more like muffin size, but nothing is lost in moistness with the size. The frosting different than typical bakery frosting, but delicious. Pricing is in line with what other bakeries are charging.

The ice cream flavors are unique. I got a red velvet waffle cone with ice cream flavors strawberry with fries, red velvet, and something with bourbon. All really good, but I didn’t like the huge chunks of fries. They were way too big. I also purchased a red velvet cupcake after sampling a piece of my friends’ and WOW, very different from your ordinary cupcake. The cake was similar to an angel cake or pound cake. It was very fluffy soft and moist. I took one home but by the time I ate it the next day it became dry already. So I recommend just eating the same day you purchase for optimal quality.
