Good Roti. Eh Veggie Curry. Decent, but salty, curry spices but basically a bowl of frozen veggies over rice with so little sauce that it was basically just to add coloring to the rice. I know the veggies were frozen because the broccoli was ice cold. I had to heat it up once I got back to the office.

Curry Now is one of the food trucks that I haven’t gotten around to reviewing. It’s taking me awhile to catch up on my reviews since I’ve been going to food trucks long before I started Unilocaling. The truck is back on the streets after closing for the winter. As with other trucks, pay attention to their web presence to find out where they are. Back in the day, I used to see Curry Now mostly at Starbucks Headquarters. The food is a-ok. I’m partial to the chicken curry and will occasionally get the samosas. Often, I buy a curry bowl combo to share with my child(since he doesn’t eat that much). It’s filling, the price is right, and it does the trick. Because I’ve eaten at the truck over time, I feel like the product is consistent. Is it the best curry I’ve had? No. Would I buy it again? Yes. I find the staff to be friendly and efficient. During peak times, as with all food trucks, you could be waiting awhile. I’m fine waiting.

For my curry order I got rice, potatoes, beans, okra(?) and a hint of sauce in a small box. It was the worst curry I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, I threw it out so fast that I forgot to take a picture. I ordered another dish at the food truck next to it(Where Ya at Matt).

Curry was good… BUT… Slowest food truck in the world(took over 30 minutes).

I found Curry Now by the Amazon campus while walking my dog. I got their combo of curry chicken(with a couple potatoes in there), cucumber salad and roti with a drink, for $ 10. Quantity wise it was good for me, if you’re the kind of person who eats a lot, you might want a bit more, but then, that would not be healthy :) The food was ok, it’s not bad nor greasy, the spicyness was good for me, it will feed you and the cucumber salad was a fresh addition but I won’t remember it an hour later. I would order it again if there was nothing else decent around but I won’t crave it. In summary, it’s certainly above McDonalds, but it’s no Marination Mobile either(or Buns if you like burgers from food trucks !) I got my food quite quickly which is a positive, and I wish their menu had more choices than the very few items in there.

I don’t understand all the positive reviews. I just went to their truck(currently parked on the Microsoft campus), and there was only one choice of curry — vegetarian or chicken. I got a combo that was chicken curry plus an «Indian taco» which was supposed to be curry on Roti. For $ 9 this was TERRIBLE. The curry itself was bland as could be. It consisted of pieces of chicken and potato. No other veggies, nothing exciting. And the curry itself was just not tasty. The taco was even worse — the same curry put into what seemed like an extra-thick flour tortilla. It wasn’t Roti by any definition, and it was terribly dry. Not only was the food awful, but the service was lackluster. No smiles, and I stood there waiting for several minutes before the woman inside even greeted me. No acknowledgment of the line forming behind me, she was too busy helping the other person prep the orders. All in all this might be the worst food truck I have ever been to.

Had the chicken curry and roti. Roti was delicious but curry was overly salted and one-dimensional, which overwhelmed its fragrant flavor. Portions are generous, reasonably priced. Might return to try the other curries.

I found Curry Now on a Wednesday at their Starbucks HQ location. I ordered their chicken curry, extra spicy, over white jasmine rice($ 8). The chicken curry process starts with sauteeing boneless, skinless chicken with onions, garlic, and ginger. The curry is then topped with cilantro. Immediately after I placed my order, the person taking my order looks back and tells the chef to cut up a habanero pepper. Oh yeah! I really liked this curry. It was both temperature-hot and spicy, the way I like pretty much any dish. The chicken was moist and the potatoes were extremely soft. It was spot-on with the seasoning if you like a good, honest curry. While I have had curries with even bolder flavor, that should not dissuade anyone from trying this place out. The best part was undoubtedly the habanero for me. Just seeing cut-up slivers of habanero on top of my curry really made me a happy panda. If chicken curry is not for you, they also offer beef, shrimp, and vegetarian curry options. Appetizers include samosa rolls, cucumber salad, roti, and steamed Jasmine rice. Check out Curry Now for a great curry experience!

For what it was, it was alright. «Indian» curry, it is NOT. If anyone has ever used the Japanese S&B brand«Golden Curry» cubes, that’s exactly what theirs tastes like. You can find it at any Asian grocery store.

Spicy and surprisingly large servings. I think the bowls is perfect lunch size. I ordered the chicken combo 1 and really didn’t need the taco. Catering to the masses I was also surprised by how spicy the curry is. Just my thing.

I went to this food truck as a recommendation from a friend, not because of the reviews. I wasn’t expecting much after reading them. I am a big Indian food fan and expect big flavors when I eat Indian food. I’m not sure if others just had a bad experience with this food, but I can say from a white dude that has eaten both homemade and restaurant Indian food alike… this food is fricken good. I know that’s not official Hindi, but it should be. I ordered the curry chicken tacos and they didn’t disappoint. I thought that they came on a thin Naan bread, but another reviewer pointed out that they came on a different type of Indian bread… either way… really good. On top of the bread came the curry chicken and potatoes topped with pico de gallo. The pico de gallo was fresh and the curry was just enough spice to give it a little kick, without overpowering your mouth. I’m a huge spicy fan, so I hate when something is under seasoned, but this definitely was not. I’m not sure why others are saying these were small tacos, because they were not. They were food stand tacos, but they were full and falling out the sides, so bring a fork. Overall, I’ve only tried their tacos, but that was enough to recommend you to stop by and order two of those for $ 7 and thank me later. As the President of Bangladesh says, «these tacos are fricken good.»

I went to Curry now at the Capitol Hill night market and ordered a curry bowl and 2 curry tacos… Both were delish! If you are expecting a saucy type of curry like a Thai curry, it is very different. Your curry taste is going to come from the meat and potatoes, a very authentic taste. The curry tacos were my favorite. They used handmade fresh roti bread as the taco shell which was a great idea. I read some of the reviews but I would have to strongly disagree. My friends and I loved it and even ordered a curry bowl to go to for later!

I was craving some good, flavorful food truck treats today at lunch. My mouth was watering. Sadly, the amount of food in the lamb bowl I ordered was surprisingly inadequate for the $ 9 that I was paying for it. The curry flavor was OK, but not very spicy, and I was saddened to find that the bottom 1⁄5 of my bowl was heavy in grease. Asking customers to pay an extra buck on top of that for a small piece of roti seems to be taking the current popularity of /demand for food trucks in Seattle just a little too far. Probably won’t go back unless they make bigger portions and/or lower their prices. Hope they do because it’s a great idea!

Disappointing. The Lamb Curry bowl was made with ground lamb, soaked in oil, heavily salted and lacking any sort of developed curry flavors. With so many good places in SLU and Downtown I suggest looking elsewhere.

When we heard that there was a new Indian food truck in town, we had to go try it. After all, prior experience tells me that the best Indian food in Portland is served out of food trucks. Unfortunately, Curry Now was quite a disappointment. First of all, the price: $ 9 – 10 for a combo meal is more than what the nearby Indian buffets charge for lunch. Simply absurd. Second, and more importantly, the food was not good. The veggie combo consisted of rice, two rotis, and a vegetable dish. The latter two were overly oily and spicy but without flavor. Not very palatable. I won’t be back, but I hope Seattle figures out its food truck scene soon.

As of late, I’m having a major love affair with curry. I have been having veggie curry about twice a week for dinner. I’ve been experimenting with different vegetables and sauces. I found I love cabbage in my curry so I’m even willing to cook it in my apartment and deal with the farty smell. I buy sauce in bulk now. It’s borderline obsessive. Then, one day at lunch, I saw it. At first I wondered if I had gone into a curry coma. Was this a dream? A mobile curry truck? I jutted my hard earned money at the window and asked for a chicken curry bowl and a curry taco. I got my order and huddled down to intake my food. First, the curry bowl was kinda weaksauce, literally. Not very spicy and just kinda bland. The chicken seemed pretty dry to me which makes me Hulk angry. The curry taco seemed like a brilliant idea but what I got was kinda weird. The flavors of the curry with the pico de gallo like sauce were fighting for supremacy, my mouth was collateral damage. I really hope this is growing pains cause the staff is very nice and there is so much potential. They just need to tighten up.

When you see something that is incorrect, do you feel obligated to correct it? I did. Curry Now was offering«Curry Taco’s» at the Capitol Hill Night Market 2 for $ 7. When the girl was getting our order ready and she was away from the truck window, I decided to erase the unnecessary apostrophe off their whiteboard as they meant plural and not possessive. I promise the 2 star rating isn’t because I’m a prick for correctness(as I make many grammatical mistakes daily), but a decision due to taste and practicality. I thought it was creative how they reinterpreted the taco by using roti, an Indian flat bread with curry, potatoes, and meat. Unfortunately the flavors were a bit flat and lacking curry. Also, the worst part was that my roti was soggy which made it difficult to enjoy as finger food as it fell apart. Lastly, for two bite tacos, $ 3.50 is really expensive!

I just tried the their mobile here in Fremont area of Seattle — by SPU. I found the the Curry Bowl(chicken) to be tasty, but nothing real special, especially consider the price($ 7.00). It is quite expensive for what little they give you.

I was able to try Curry Now at the Mobile Chowdown and their chicken curry taco was good but not amazing. I would say the amazing part about it was the naan for the ‘tortilla’. I would just eat a whole plate of naan itself because it was yummy! I thought the curry was a little bit on the runny side so it was very messy when taking the first bite when all of the curry juices spilled out on one side leaving you with just a bite of the naan and a tomato…
