Daly’s is a third-generation family owned local business that has been serving the northwest since 1938.
History
Established in 1938.
In the 1930’s, designer Walter J. Daly arrived in Seattle via Texas.
He used a wood bleaching system in the restoration of Seattle’s historic Olympic Hotel. Soon, contractors were pressing Walter to make this for their own jobs. The Daly’s product line expanded, and a store eventually opened on Stone Way in Seattle.
After WWII, nephew Herb Paulson came to work with Walter. Today, Herb is one of our co-owners and is celebrating 60+ years with Daly’s.
Walter passed away in the 1950’s, Daly’s incorporated, added wallpaper and young widow Ethel started teaching classes in the back room. This was the beginning of Daly’s reputation as being THE place to come for expert information.
With the help of her sons and nephew Herb, Daly’s expanded both manufacturing and retail operations.
Daly’s Products are still manufactured locally and can be found in 13 states across the US. Daly’s is now in its third-generation of ownership with Robin Daly and partner Herb.
