0 stars! Worst dental insurance ever! When I called there was only 2 people ahead of me. I’m still waiting on hold its been an hour and a half there are 0 people ahead of me and they’re still making me wait. Don’t waste ur time calling or even talking to them because they don’t even give u any information.

The Good.
Inexpensive plan for people that are self employed and can’t get into any group coverage.
I like my dentist in Tacoma. He’s very competent, accommodating, friendly, has great office staff. His name is Dr. Lo.
This plan has covered all of my dental needs for the last 7 years.
The Bad.
My biggest complaint… hold time when trying to reach a human being to assist me.
The Ugly.
I’ve been on hold for 42 minutes and began my hold time with 21 callers ahead of me! Now it’s down to 12 callers ahead. Sigh!
I suggest people trying to reach these guys set aside lots of time, with plenty of activities to do while waiting:)

Never, ever, purchase insurance from this company! They assign you to a specific dentist, and the dental office knowing this fact, treats you in the way they want! The administrators at the dentist’s office I was assigned to, at least the person who did my paperwork and insurance coverage, was a crook! She charged my credit card for the procedures before the actual work was done on my teeth. I decided to cancel my future appointments. Contacting
is an impossibility! Getting coverage from these crooks was a nightmarish experience!

OK this place is a terrible solution. It may be the low cost leader for insurance but that’s because it’s NOT INSURANCE. This is the solution for employers who want to pay less for their employees so they buy this crap plan.
You have to pay for each procedure. You cannot see your regular dentist.
If you have a child you cannot see a kid’s dentist.
The network is full of bottom of the barrel dentists who need patients so desperately they will sign up to get nothing back.
Try calling them and you will be on hold for hours. THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE AND I WILL NEVER EVER BE INVOLVED WITH THEM.

I work at a dental clinic and DHS in by far the friendliest and most user friendly insurance company I have ever dealt with. I feel that people who do not deal with insurance companies regularly may not appreciate how helpful DHS is. They have no waiting period and are extremely inexpensive compared to other plans. I recommend DHS to new patients frequently, and they save as much if not more than a percentage plan. Though I cannot vouch for your local dental providers, DHS is a great company.

I had no idea I was buying the shadiest insurance plan for sale. Switching dentists is nearly impossible, and ALL of the dentists within 20 miles of my home are disgusting, strip-​mall dental groups with poorly trained and untidy staff.
I BOUGHT A 1-​YEAR CONTRACT, VALID FOR 10 MORE MONTHS, BUT AM BUYING NEW INSURANCE RATHER THAN HAVING TO VISIT ANY OF THEIR NETWORK DENTISTS.
if you have the luxury of choice, make the right one and do NOT go with Dental Health Services.
