Domino’s Pizza

Nicole was SO nice over the phone! My food came out hot and fast!!! Exceeded my expectations! The place was very clean which is important to me! They always have great coupons. Love this dominos!

Seriously. Why do I fucking call them?! We live right on the edge of a weird triangle of streets. We don’t live in Bellevue or Everett or Renton, we live in Greenwood. Right smack in the middle of Greenwood. Right between three Domino’s. All three of these locations always argue with me because according to their map, I’m one block too east or west or south of their delivery system. So I get bounced around three locations because nobody wants to go thirty feet more. It’s like I live in the Bermuda triangle.

We have ordered a couple times from this location– Delivery is always super fast and faster than the online tracker. Tonight we ordered a pizza though with heavy sauce and it was drowning in it. I guess the pizza maker thought I ordered swimming in sauce. Regardless the pizza was good and we were able to move the extra sauce to the side. It was messy though!
The buffalo chicken chicken is the best out of the chicken sides– Always perfect and satisfies that buffalo chicken wing craving without the actual wing. Probably a tad healthier. I would love to give five stars but the extra extra sauce took one away. For tonight.

Fricking love domino’s more than anything. My boyfriend and I get carry out from this location way too often to admit… It’s always perfect. The team here is fast and consistent. Love it!

I am so sick I can barely move. Unfortunately, motherhood does not allow for sick days, so in comes the Domino’s Pizza app. It was easy to browse coupons, edit items, and check out. They even have a nifty cell phone icon in the corner after your order is placed in case you forgot something– 2 liter of soda in my case. Mom of the year over here. Nicole was very friendly on the phone, and the delivery person was upbeat and nice as well. Didn’t catch her name– young woman.

I’m not sure what else is expected from Domino’s besides… well, Domino’s. It’s almost a cliché in itself. The pizza is god-​awful, of course, but people still order it and eat it nonetheless because it’s easy and cheap. Domino’s fills that hole very well.
Ready for the shocker? I don’t get their pizza. I get their chicken. I know, you’re totes shocked! Who the hell orders chicken from Domino’s? Well, I have to be honest, and this is the sad truth, there is no other place to get decent wings or strips in this area. We have a Wingzone, which in theory should be awesome, but is run by the worst human being on the planet (seriously, go to their Unilocal!page for the proof), but besides that, there’s not much around that will bring it to you. Lazy? Sure. But the real reason I go back, is that they understand customer service and have the delivery process down to a perfectly crossed T.
Their website shows you each step of the order, including the name of the employee who performed each step, and then an automated robot woman calls you 5 minutes before they show up to let you know their on their way and to turn your porch light on (seriously, she said this). The drivers themselves are always friendly and prompt. (protip: always tip in cash)
And their sauces are good. I will give them that.
5 stars for the delivery experience, 1 star for the pizza, 3 stars for the chicken. I’ll round up to 4 ’cause I’m a nice guy.

I’ve had dominos from the same new Wallingford location twice now, I’ve learned even though it’s a brand new place and you would imagine the pizza/​other items would be good then hey ok that’s great if it were true. I learned from the crown hill newly opened dominos months ago that the pizza is crap, and the garlic crust is nice if they don’t seriously overlook it. Now with that being said I have never gone wrong with the stuffed cheesy bread nor the garlic bread bowl chicken Alfredo pasta. They are moth the two sound items on the menu that are quite good. Now you can Get them for 5.99 each but for the bread bowl you have to pay like a dollar something extra. The other issue is, if you for some reason want to have your items delivered regardless if it’s just one $ 5.99 order or $ 1,000 order there is a charge of $ 4 just for them to deliver. They are taking money from the drivers tips. So then when the deliverer comes you have already paid $ 4 for the drivers fee but on top of that they expect you to give them a tip. It has gone too corporate to even care about their employees. If anything I’d wish they would allow me to literally build my own pizza with my own sauce cheese and toppings and bake the damn things myself I used to love dominos with a passion until dominos themselves lost theirs to make good products ALL AROUND not just a couple and show some respect. And on top of that it’s more expensive than almost every other pizza joint in its corporate competitors group. Their whole ad comparing about send us a pic and let us know what you think well do better next time. How about you let me know when next time is and in the mean time give me my $ 11 back for an order of cheesy bread

We ordered delivery from this restaurant. We had the mix and match promo. The service and the food were great!

I have a long history with Domino’s going back to the 1970s (see my review of the Oakland Domino’s for the whole story, but suffice to say, I remember when there was ONE Domino’s in Ann Arbor, MI).
Anyway that’s all water under the corporate pizza bridge. They just opened up a Domino’s in Wallingford, so I felt I had to at least try it.
When I called, I had to listen to a two minute long pre-​recorded message upselling pizza and other things like Coke before I could talk to someone. This isn’t because there was no one available to answer the phone, this is just the way it is. So, immediately, this is a dealbreaker. No one ordering a pizza wants to wait two minutes to hear about a bunch of awful products they don’t want. No one wants your chicken, Domino’s. No one wants to feel like they’re calling United Airlines. They want to talk to a human.
Then, the very nice lady and I had a big discussion because she was like «I see your number is XXX-​XXX-​XXXX» and I’m like, «no, it’s YYY-​YYY-​YYYY» so that took a while to resolve. Maybe Domino’s needs to investigate its caller ID technology? Anyway she was pretty apologetic about the shitty upsell pre-​recorded message. She was legit.
The pizza I wanted was available cheaper as a special, so that was cool too. $ 9 for a large three topping, pick-​up special, and she let me know. Again, solid customer service.
The place was *packed* when I got there, so apparently there is a huge pent up demand for shitty corporate pizza in Wallingford (I just used a literary technique called «foreshadowing» to hint at what the pizza tastes like, by the way.) But I was in and out quick.
On to the pizza. The pizza is gross. I totally believe Domino’s wants to make good pizza, but I also believe they are min-​maxing good pizza versus profits, so they use small amounts of incredibly low-​quality ingredients and you end up with a really mediocre pie. Worse than Little Caesars, worse than Tombstone (way worse than Tombstone), worse than basically any pizza in America except for maybe Totino’s frozen party pizzas.
There’s not enough sauce, so it mixes with the dough and cheese pellets to form a sort of flavorless pink paste. If you order extra sauce (which is free) it tastes much better, except then the cheese pellets don’t all melt and you end up with this cool, grainy layer above the sauce which is nauseating.
There have been big improvements in the dough at Dominos, but it’s not enough to carry the totally flavorless pepperoni, green peppers and olives, or the pink sludge sauce. But, a couple of your crust bites will taste pretty good, especially since they’re covered in garlic butter.
The main thing that can be said for this pizza is that it’s so bad, you probably won’t eat too much.
Overall take on Domino’s on 45^th in Wallingford: Allow this place to skim off some of the riff-​raff from better neighborhood places like Pudge Bros (the best pizza in Seattle, for real), and just go elsewhere. You can be smug about not eating corporate pizza, your pizza will taste better, and you’ll get it one unskippable, two-​minute advertisement sooner. Will it cost more? Maybe, but with cheap pizza, you don’t even get what you pay for.
