Easy Street Records and Café

5 for the food, 1 for the service. Our waitress completely ignored us and made contact to us only to pick up our check. We tried to get her attention but she would only fill drinks at all other tables except ours during our 45 minute experience here. A different server had to get us boxes, a completely different person had to get us our check because we were waiting for 20 minutes (not exaggerating)
Anyway, besides the terrible waitress, outr food was great! I got the Horton hash, it was spicy and delicious!

Another great meal!
I finally learned the right way to do Easy Street for what will always be a very busy brunchtime:
1. Check in with the host/​hostess ~10 AM on a Sunday. (Too much later, and the wait swells to an hour.)
2. Learn that you have a 20 – 30 minute wait, which you should go in expecting.
3. Walk around the Farmers’ Market for those ~20 minutes.
4. Return, and be promptly seated.
The menu has all the breakfast favorites, and more healthful substitutions (egg beaters) are offered at a surcharge. I hear they have meat substitutes, too, but have never tried them.
There’s not too many adventurous items on offer, and I’d like to see a little more variety.
Servers are hard-​pressed to keep up with the flow of customers. Might be a good idea to look at the menu on-​line (or when at the Farmers’ Market for those ~20 minutes?) to avoid what could be another :20 wait for the plates to arrive.
The outside tables are not covered by an awning, making it a bit toasty when the shine is shining. Might want to think twice about sitting outside.
Will return and highly recommend for brunch.

*Brunch Review* Let me preface this by saying I love the record shop, and will write a separate review to balance this one. Nice server. Food comes up not only a little slow, but barely edible. I got the Cha-​Cha Chorizo scramble, and almost every piece of sausage was burnt. Rubbery eggs and the hash browns had zero seasoning (couldn’t even detect any salt) and was slightly undercooked. My dining partner’s house burrito was also lacking in flavor. Only plus side is that they have Portland Aardvark sauce. I love the music-​inspired menu item names, but I’d actually have to be drunk and starving to come back here to eat again.

Food was awesome! Service exceptional! Bonus of good music! My husband walked away with some vinyl! Great start to the day!

I’ve always said that life needs a soundtrack and Easy Street provides that, at least during breakfast! Such a fun place — how can you beat good eggs, good coffee that is refilled almost before you take a sip, super friendly waitstaff, and… vinyl? Can’t think of a better way to start your day than a good breakfast served with a smile, followed by some music shopping, right in the same building — brilliant idea!

Back on the job again. My old lady has told me for the past six years, «Wes, it’s time to hang it up. It’s too dangerous» Nonsense, I say. I cannot let innocent people have terrible experiences at local restaurants. Not on my watch.
Anyway, the latest tip came from Rose, California traveler up in the Emerald City for what everybody wants in this crazy world: a decent meal.
Her heart was set on Easy Street Record and Café, a joint that invoked inner desires she never knew she had — so much so, she was inspired to exclaim, «And come on! who doesn’t like vinyls and coffee…»
Vinyls and coffee. I share the same admiration. Vinyls and coffee.
However, I learn from Rose that «Patrons stare and were mean muggin» the «whole» time she was in the establishment. Rose recalls that when she went to the counter, she wasn’t even acknowledged! «What kind of a place is this,» I wonder aloud.
It gets worse, I’m afraid.
Rose tells me the server behind the counter didn’t even hand her the change from her payment. Instead, she just left it on the counter and walked away to attend to another party. I tell myself it can’t be real.
It was up to me to straighten things out. I made the trip to Easy Street and sat at the very same counter Rose was wronged. A woman approaches me and asks, «What can I get for you?» I tell her «Water. Tall glass. No ice. Slightly chilled.» She returns moments later, but before I could examine the drink, something caught my eye that I will remember for the rest of my sad, pathetic, lonely life: a new Macklemore album had dropped. H o l y T o m a t o. As my mouth remained open, tongue drying, teeth chattering, I began to wonder what the new rhymes would sound like.
So anyway, I got up from the counter, bought the CD and wandered back to my house. I forgot who the client was now. I love these new beats! Ryan Lewis! Sh*t he is good!

Always a great lunch or breakfast and you can bring your dog, which is a huge plus! Service is always on point. Prices are amazing. Coffee is delicious. Very urban and Seattle with a lot of grunge and grit, love it!

Wow, just the experience I was expecting from seattle. Came around 8am on a sunday and had the most enjoyable meal. This café is joint with the record store, which means that’s the theme! You get an awesome vibe if you’re into music and the classics or even familiar with these names.
It’s such a fun vibe here and the food is delicious, me and my boyfriend ended up getting the vegetarian and the meat breakfast sandwich. Easy street is the name. Mocha here was really good and our waitress made our meal really fun. Overall I highly reccomend any visitors to stop by here and just have breakfast or even pick up a record.
Headsup farmers market is right outside this store on Sundays starting at 10am!

Per usual for and record store The prices aren’t the cheapest but supporting independent music stores is always worth it. Their vinyl selection on the second floor is really great and has tons of 45’s as well. Best part is the mix of new and used since most vinyl junkies don’t mind picking up something that’s been used before.
But always a good place to browse and use the listening stations to sample the music, even a vinyl listening station !

My favorite breakfast spot in west Seattle. Service is excellent. Want a place filled with cool people, art and music…? Well, this is your spot.

I like the vibe and the comfort food so I gave it 5 stars. I picked out a couple CD’s while sitting there enjoying a great coffee called the Cindy Lauper. Then I had the Cha Cha Chorizo plate and I can’t complain. Above average food mixed with the environment and cool staff make the place a 5 star review. The coffee beats Starbucks for sure!

Checked this place out for brunch this past weekend. had a pretty decent wait (~30 minutes), but it’s pretty cool to walk around the record/​cds and look at everything. I ordered the Bennie And The Jets (ham on the side) and my boyfriend ordered the The Easy Street Breakfast Burrito (add chorizo). The Eggs Benedict was OK… not sure I’d order again. The hollondaise sauce was oddly very sweet and almost tasted like flour… very strange. I didn’t hate it… but didn’t love it. The breakfast burrito was ok, but he wishes he had also added bacon to it ;-) Might check this place out again, but there are so many other places to try… so not sure…

Loved it here. It was so cute since it’s a record store and the food was amazing. Pretty cheap and filled me up. If in Seattle this is a must go place fershure hitting back up here before I leave back to Cali

I have been to Easy Street for brunch a couple times. This can be a very popular spot on the weekends. Good breakfast food. I have never bought a record or CD there. Prime location for going up and down California ave on walk, pub crawl, or just bumming around.

How do you write a review on one of your favorite places in the world? Vinyl records and diner breakfast at the same place? It can’t be real. But it is!
Always a line in weekends so if you’re not an early bird, be prepared to wait a while for a table. No problem for me as I get a chance to go record shopping.
The music playing is always fun and often a local band. I highly recommend following Easy Street in Facebook so you can get notifications of live performance.
The food is great too.

Food was dynamite! But be ready to wait… Took 30 – 45 minutes for 2 of us to get a table.

Last stop before heading to Portland. Spent the night in a Airbnb a few blocks away and had a really good time thus far, even in the rain. Thought it’d be nice to grab a seattle cup of coffee on our way to Portland and easy street was the first that popped in our search. It looked interesting, had solid reviews from others– and come on! who doesn’t like vinyls and coffee… well we walk in and are totally put off by the atmosphere, seems like a local spot that wasn’t very welcoming to visitors (we’re from Cali) some of the Patrons stare and were mean muggin us the whole time. We get to the counter and the barista (short hair, pinned to one side-​stereotypical fake punk rock bitch vibe– doesn’t acknowledge us whatsoever, not even a glance. We move closer to the counter and try to make eye contact-​mind you there is absolutely NO ONE else at the ordering counter. Finally we’re able to order and she doesn’t even hand us our change, she leaves it on the counter and walks away… wtf?! We got the cappuccino which was ok, not bad but nothing we’d come back for especially when we felt so unwanted… what a sucky note to leave such a beautiful city on…

Great atmosphere. Friendly laid-​back servers. Excellent coffee. And, quite possibly the best breakfast in West Seattle. Definitely a must check out for both locals & out-​of-​towners alike.

I love it here! If rock is not your style it may not be for you, but I love eating lunch while my toddler dances on stage and no one bats an eye. Good vibes, good tunes, friendly service, and kid friendly. The food is diner quality, not life changing, but dependable. Good coffee. Good atmosphere. I’ve never had a bad experience, so 5 stars!

I love music and as a technical luddite, I still love buying actual media. Easy Street Records is a great independent music shop that very much reminds me of a music store I frequented in Reno, NV while in High School. They have vinyl as well which is an added plus if one is so inclined to enjoy such things.
We live close to the Junction and I enjoy on our day’s off stroll for coffee to stop in and get the latest vibe at Easy Street. It’s fun to browse and they have a good selection of what I like. What they don’t carry, they can usually order.
I ate at the café once a few years ago and it was alright. Might need to go back and try the food side again too.

Basic delicious and cheap breakfast! The waiter did forget about my hashbrowns which i was a bit disappointed but at least she didnt charge me and not hand them
to me. and for some odd reason if you wanted blueberries added to your pancake they will only give it to you on the side… but one of their menu items has blueberry pancakes but i dont know. Seating is pretty close together. I felt as if i was sitting at a table with strangers but o didn’t quite mind, they were great! Other than that, beautiful, fun, cheap place! Will
come if i ever decide to go to parallel universe seattle.

They were pretty busy on a Sunday morning, as you would expect but roaming around the farmer’s market and music store made the wait fly by.
Coffee was excellent, the hash was spicy, but not too spicy to enjoy. And the service was great! I’ll be back!

Horrible food service! Don’t waste your time waiting for a table they are more than happy to seat people that arrive after you — before you. There is no rhyme or reason to their seat list. I walked out but lucky the breakfast place next door was open :) I will never visit this place again.

Great selection. It’s nice to see a brick and mortar record store remain successful. Added benefit that you can wait for a table while shopping for records, and then grab a good breakfast.

Amazing food! Great prices! Superb coffee! The wait can be long to get a seat, so we make sure to show up right at 7:00am when they open.
Best of all is the waitperson we usually get. She is so freindly and cheerful, which I am not at 7:00am. We love it there!

Their food is awesome! I want to come back and try more of their food!!! The only thing about coming here is the wait, but luckily they have a record store next door to kill time. It’s also a good marketing tactic because while we are waiting oh, why not buy a bunch of CDs and records? Haha! I enjoyed the food and the waitress we had. I had the Horton’s something, but it was delicious and they were not joking around when they said it was spicy! Still satisfying and good! :)

Our server forgot about us and it took forever before we could order our food. Ordered the Little Richard and the toast was burnt. There were two wrapped squares of butter on my plate, and my server just reached down in front of me to take one. The servers here are terrible. My mom asked for a box and the server forgot. We got the check and our server took forever to take it back. The food overall was subpar.

I loved my breakfast! I had the New Wave O’s Rancheros and it was a plate full of delicious goodness. However, my friend who is somewhat Mexican, says that it could be done much better. Regardless, my fifth generation American self liked it just fine and would get it again in the future. Said friend had Horton’s Hash, which is basically their version of a spicy corn beef hash. He said it was okay. He also noted the portions could’ve been bigger although I felt the portions were just fine considering the price is very, very fair! Would definitely come back although the 30 minute wait was strange on a Wednesday morning at 11.

Walked right in before the breakfast blitz on a Sunday. Got the Johnny Cash with a side of Bacon. Breakfast was good, portions decent. While waiting I was able to walk in and find two used classic CDs. Wasn’t able to browse as much as I would have liked as we were on our way to Century Link for a Seahawks game. Service was fast and friendly with a smile. Will be back!

Stopped by because the record store /​dinner combo looked cool. Had a bit of await for a table, but that was a good excuse to browse the tried store for awhile. The huge vinyl collection was like a walk down memory lane. When we eventually got seated, the waitress was friendly and on point. The food was really good, and the atmosphere was great. Neatly decorated, with good music playing. We’ll be coming back for sure.

I really wanted to visit this place because of Anthony Bourdain’s recommendation. I love vinyl and coffee so I figured… perfect combo!
BOY WAS HE WRONG! Come here if you want to experience the Seattle «FREEZE.»
I’m from California and visited Seattle just this past weekend. I came here with a friend who is also from California, and we met up with another friend who is originally from Wenatchee, before leaving for our flight to SEA/​TAC. My goodness! the waitresses here are such c**ts. My friend asked if they had Cholula hot sauce, and one of the waitresses said «Whatever I told you is all we have.»
We got here around 730am and unfortunately, the vinyl room was still closed. So i figured it would just be nice to bring back a shirt as a souvenir. I stood by the counter for 10 minutes and NOT ONE person even asked if I needed help. So finally, our friend from Wenatchee went over to the cashier and was told to just grab what we needed and she will ring us up.
So Wenatchee friend goes behind the counter and grabs a Large shirt for me. Some girl with a stupid side cut (I had a side cut 2 years ago) stands just looking pissed not even saying anything and just holds out her hand… without using her words like I’m supposed to know wtf she wants. So I hand her the shirt and the she tells my other friend, «Next time, just ask one of us if you need something from behind the counter.»
And I’m standing there thinking… ugh no thanks there won’t be a next time! Can’t you see we have suitcases with us… which means we’re not from around here and MAYBE a little effort to be nice to tourists won’t hurt.
If I can give this place negative stars, I probably would. I should’ve just left but I really needed one more souvenir before heading back home.
Oh, and the food is okay… nothing special

What horrible service! After my good experiences here in the past, I’m just shocked! My wife and I ordered food and coffee to go. When we arrived, my wife went in to pick it up. She comes out a bit later looking upset (and this in the rain, no less) juggling to-​go boxes and coffee drinks. I ran across the street to help her.
Come to find out, some tall, pony-​tailed snippy blonde presuming to be a barista refused to give her a bag or drink holder though there were some in plain sight, and acted like she had just been forced to donate a kidney when she was ringing up the order. When asked which box contained which sandwich, she said, «oh, I didn’t mark them». Like she was proud of her level of incompetence.
How this person has a customer contact job of any kind is a mystery.
I’ve been coming to your store for years, but no more. Get rid of the dead weight in your staff, or you will lose more regulars. Then who will your precious tall blonde ponytail girl have to be rude to?

The selection is decent and location is amazing. I live right around the corner. Where they lack= Customer service. I really enjoy most of the employees. I’ve been going for the past few years with my little girl. Now a days I come in with her and get shitty looks and attitude from the owner. Every time I go up the stairs to look at vinyl. I feel like we are bothering them. Not just the owner. There is a pretty surly bearded dude as well. Don’t get it. In the four years I’ve lived in Seattle. I have dropped easily close to 10,000 at this place. Music and media are all I purchase. So. What more could they ask? I’m friendly, I spend cash and my daughter is a freaking sweetheart to everyone there. Let me note that in the vinyl department they have a kids section. So being rude to people with kids doesn’t make sense.
Bummed to write this but can’t support a business that doesn’t appreciate me. Thats what WalMart is for.
I will be doing all my shopping at SODO Silver Platters. Dean and Eddie kill it at making me feel welcomed.

I really liked this place! I had a collection of a couple hundred vinyl records that I was trying to get rid of. I went to another record store and they picked out 10 and gave me $ 5. I heard about Easy Street and I went to see if they would take any of the remaining records. They liked 15 records and gave me $ 7 or they offered $ 15 in store credit. This place has a MASSIVE used DVD section. Most are in great shape and between $ 4 – 5. So I got a few movies. The workers are super upbeat people who really do love music. They aren’t snoody or stuck in the 70’s either like at a lot of the other record stores.
I love that this store is in West Seattle too. Street parking isn’t too bad. Now I have a go-​to place for music and movies!
Can’t wait to try out their café.

I really wish stores with websites have a better approach to keep things in sync.
The selection is pretty decent, prices are average, but I was liking the idea of using their website as a reference for a round of record purchases I was looking to make while visiting Seattle for a weekend. I drove out here from the north end of Seattle with the hopes of picking up 5 different items that I found on their website, and all listed as «In Stock».
It turned out to be a waste of time. They had NONE of the items in the store, or in their downstairs storage as the clerk said they might be. The best they could offer was for me to wait a few days for them to transfer it from whatever other facility they had.
I drove back empty handed, and zero dollars spent.

I perused the music while waiting to be seated at the café and they seem to have a good diversity of music and interesting, varied selections from many artists. Honestly can’t comment on the vinyl because I know nothing about it.
I enjoyed the café, they have a good variety of breakfast items and good vegetarian options, and the price makes it a total steal!

A music store that has food you say? What kind of I credit marriage of 2 things I love!!!
There’s no call in reservation, they use the Nazi system where you show up, add your name to a handwritten list, and wait a long time.
While you wait, browse around the store – they have tons of CDs (I know, right?) and even vinyls for the music purists. Enjoy the music. It’s not your typical restaurant music, because, doh, it’s also a music store. So the music is diverse, interesting.
The food isn’t awesome, but it does have a few highlights:
Freshly squeezed orange juice. Yummmmm!!!
Hash browns are awesome!
The bacon is thick, meaty, juicy!
Now I need to go check my cholesterol :)

Finally checked out the Easy Street Records Café this week. This is the eatery adjacent to the record store. Hours are different from the record store as the café is open 7 am to 3 pm daily.
Due to the hours, the café serves breakfast and lunch fare only. It also has a coffee bar. Offerings include breakfast plates, salads and sandwiches. Prices are very reasonable. The highest priced item is the $ 10.95 Johnny Cash Special which is a good deal considering it is a steak and eggs plate.
The interior of the restaurant is a bit diner-​esque except you see music memorabilia adorning the walls and good music is being played for your dining pleasure. As for parking, there are numerous free parking lots and plentiful street parking nearby.
Many of the menu items here are named after musicians including the meal I chose. I ordered the Horton Heat Hash ($ 8.50) named after the band, Reverend Horton Heat. And a double tall Mudhoney coffee ($ 3) named after the same name group.
Mudhoney is basically a mocha with honey. Easy Street gets their coffee from one of my favorite coffee roasters, Caffé Vita so I knew that I was getting a high quality cup already. But this drink is quite impressive. The honey does wonders for the taste. The drink retains the coffee flavor and is not too sweet.
The Horton Heat Hash consists of corned beef, bacon, onions, peppers and hash browns according to the menu. But it did not taste quite how I thought it would be. It was spicy as the description mentioned, but the hash was unusual. The corned beef was alright but reminded me of sausage. And the hash browns tasted more like mushy rice. Simply put, I thought it was disappointing. Should have tried the Johnny Cash Special instead.
The reasonable prices for breakfast fare make Easy Street worth trying if you are in or near the Junction. Though for me, the Mudhoney mocha was the big record store café find.
