El Cuento Preschool

My son is in his third year at El Cuento. It has been a great experience for him and for our family. We were looking for an immersion or bilingual school and the total Spanish immersion program Rosie and the teachers at El Cuento have created is strong and effective. We don’t speak much Spanish at home so our son likes to be the one to teach us what he learns at school. As a kindergarten teacher, I was pleased to see their program covers all the academics to prepare them for elementary school.
The space is on the smaller side but they rearrange the room often to keep it interesting for the kids. It’s very clean and organized. My son also enjoys the multi-​age element and likes playing with the ‘babies’ (2 year olds). There is a small outdoor play area but the kids often walk down to the nearby park or go for walks throughout the neighborhood. They even go on field trips to the library.
The teachers, all native Spanish speakers, are kind and friendly. My son didn’t need to be completely potty trained when he started at 2 years old which was very helpful. One of the best, most unique parts is their flexible schedule. There is a 9:00 — 1:00 preschool program but they have extended hours from 7:30am-5:30pm. Nap time is from 1:00 — 3:00. Full-​time and variations of part-​time options available. Parents night out once a month.
