Elite Event @ Stylus in Belltown

This event was so fun! The elite event at Stylus was my 3^rd Unilocal elite event ever and was probably the most unique one that I’ve ever been to. In this intimate event of ~20 ladies I got to mix and mingle with other Unilocalers, something that I felt that lacked in other Unilocal events. The event did start out kinda slow, but after the initial wait, my plus one and I had a ton of fun. Everyone was super awesome!
The salon itself is located in the heart of belltown. It was clean, beautiful and the staff was super friendly. We all got a taste of their services, and chose to get the mini facial and hair consultation. It was my first facial ever and Kelly was very informative, and so sweet!
Next I had my hair consultation from Jacqui (who was rocking some sweet tap-​inspired sequined shorts that I adored!). She was super edgy and styled and trimmed my pixie suitable for a night out in the town. :]
Super plus? Got to finally meet Katy! haha

I love Elite events! Okay this was my first one but I think my statement still holds value. Bonding with girls over wine about hair, makeup and nails makes a perfect wednesday night.
Big thank you to Stylus Salon and Katy H. for organizing this. If not for this event, I never would have learned about the wonders of dry shampoo — uh hello, I don’t have to wash my hair as often? Awesome!

This was my first Unilocal event and if they are all as fun as this was, I hope I get invited to many, many more. This was so much fun and we all agreed that we’d like to try Stylus for future beauty services
It started off a little slow, as we had to wait for some customers who were just finishing up with their appointments. Thank goodness there was a ton of stuff to look at. They display local artists’ works on their walls and are available for purchase.
Everyone had the option of two different services to try, I chose makeup consultation and hair style. The makeup experience was very cool. Meredith introduced me to a new line of products and demonstated how easy it was to look great without spending more than 3 minutes in the morning. I might even venture from the stuff I’ve been using for years now, it was that good of a demonstration. I have a feeling that they might be pretty pricey, though.
Andrea did my hair, and wow, I thought I was just going to get suggestions. She did some scissor magic and bang, I had bangs. Bangs! I loved the results and will give her a try again. I like that her speciality is thick, frizzy, too much hair heads (my hair).
Great time and I’m so glad Unilocal put this event together!

Who are the ad wizards who came up with this one? Seriously! What an amazing way to get to know a salon and its team members. Why don’t more salons do great events like this?!
The salon itself felt like a refuge from the crazy Belltown streets, with a spacious feel and tall ceilings lined with 5 or so small, cute chandeliers down the center of the ceiling. The upstairs is the hair style and cute area and DOWNSTAIRS is the spa area. I liked that the spa was in the basement floor, a further isolation from the world above. This space was okay, but kind of smelled weird. .
The services were hair consult, makeup/​fragrance consult, mini-​mani (no polish), facial waxing, and massage. I think everyone got the hair consult plus a spa service.
The two services I had at the event were a hair consult and facial waxing. The hair consult was really fun. I’m extremely loyal to my current hair salon, so I don’t think I’ll be back, but it was enjoyable to have someone think about my hair more creatively. She even took out some weight from my layers (tame the beast!) All the other Unilocaler ladies looked GREAT after their hair consults too. It was fun to see the transformation!
The highlight of my evening was finding the coolest esthetician ever! I don’t remember her name, but she was wonderful. She introduced me to sugaring, which was great. It was probably my most positive waxing experiences ever! Huzzah!
Staff capacity was a concern at the event. There was a backlog because only one person was offering each of the spa services. So I waited for almost 2 hours before I got my spa treatment. Waiting is totally fine, but they could have provided some more product demos or munchies so the time didn’t go slowly.
Great event! We need more events like these in the Unilocal community!

This. Event. Rocked. Katy strikes again! WHAT WHAT!
For 2 lovely hours, a group of lady Unilocalers were pampered with manicures, hair consultations, makeup/​fragrance consultations, massages, facial waxing, and spot facials — all in a fabulous space known as Stylus Salon (or maybe it’s Salon Stylus, I don’t exactly know).
Andrea did a lickity split, awesome bang trim (thank you Andrea!) and Kelly did wonders w/​my jacked up brows (I no longer look like Groucho Marx, thank you!) — so thank you both for that!
I got to meet some new Unilocalers and left w/​a goody bag, which was also a bonus (fingerless Unilocal gloves! Awesome!).
Hurrah for Stylus! Hurrah for Katy!

What is better than having a «girls night» at a boutique salon? Sharing the night meeting new Unilocalers, sipping wine in a fab venue, and getting some tips and quick snips from a super cool stylist (Jacqui). I am usually timid about trying new places for my hair, but I loved her philosphy of how there is rarely anything you can do to your hair that can’t be fixed… and if you’re not satisifed with a haircut from her, there is always a solution/​fix for it. Based on that alone, I am thinking about making an appt with her!
The cherry on top? A goodie bag with salon treats and a pair of kick ass fingerless Unilocal gloves. You read it right…*fingerless* Unilocal gloves, which I will be sporting whilst wearing my hair in a side pony tail. Woot!

I enjoy being a girl. I really do.
This event was fabulous for the few of us that got to attend. When I walked in I was totally intimidated by the fancy, chandelier ridden salon and the beautiful women ready to primp us up, but they couldn’t have been nicer or more awesome than they were.
I’m VERY devoted to the salon I go to that a friend of mine owns, but honestly, after getting a few quick services from these gals, I might have to cheat on my regular salon once in a while. I got a hair consult by Andrea and I absolutely adored her. Easy to talk to and she gave me some great tips for my Jew-​fro. Then, in less than 60 seconds she trimmed up my bangs/​face framing part of my hair to perfection. Exactly what I needed.
Then I visited with the make up gal (and I feel so bad because I forgot her name but she was RAD) and she is like a fragrance dictionary. She had me fill out some information and based on that, helped recommend some different perfumes that I would like. It was kind of like a psychic reading. Kind of a cool salon service!
And to top that off, goody bags filled with magic potions to try at home!
