Description

Specialties

I am passionate about helping children and families reach their optimal emotional and behavioral health. Play Therapy allows a child to uses his/her natural means of expression (play) in order to help process, explore, and express emotions and internal challenges in a non-threatening way. Play Therapy can also help build self-esteem, help children learn effective coping skills, improve communication skills, help children learn how to problem-solve, and the list goes on! I believe that every client is unique, so I tailor my therapeutic approach to fit the needs of each client while providing a safe and supportive environment for the therapy process. I care about providing quality therapeutic services in order to help you and your child live better lives.

Specific mental health concerns I specialize in working with include anxiety, depression, trauma, difficulties adjusting (with divorce, moving, changing schools, etc), autism spectrum disorder, difficulties with coping skills/anger/expressing emotions, social skills, aggressive behaviors, and struggles with peers.

History

Established in 2014.

After 4 years working with children and families at Seattle Children’s Home in Queen Anne, I decided to follow my passions and open my private practice. I decided to stay in the Queen Anne neighborhood because of the wonderful community, great shops/stores nearby, and the family-oriented neighborhood. I absolutely love owning my own practice, and I would love to work with you and your family!

Previous to working at Seattle Children’s Home, I worked as an ABA behaviorist for 2 years in California, and I worked for 1 year as an MFT trainee at California Lutheran University’s community clinic.

Meet the Business Owner

Elizabeth P.

Business Owner

I am a youth and family therapist, and I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and parents in order to discover the meaning behind emotional distress and challenging behaviors. My aim is to provide a safe, supportive environment, which allows you and your child to comfortably explore and work through difficult emotions and challenges. We will work together on creating goals, working towards those goals, and leaving therapy with tools and skills you can use outside of therapy and throughout life.

While I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and animals (I have two cats and 3 chickens). I’m an artist (musician, painter, aerial artist, and I sew/reupholster furniture), an adventurer (I love camping and exploring the beautiful nature around us), and a knowledge seeker (I’m constantly interested in learning about new things).
