At Emerald Vine Massage, I provide exceptional, personalized therapeutic massage to people interested in taking an active role in their health. I enjoy working with all types of people and problems; it’s our diverse community and the stimulation of sleuthing out the sources of all our quirky, mysterious muscular and fascial issues that makes my job so rewarding. I cater each massage session to your specific needs, ensuring that your body receives the support it requires to heal and nurture itself. Some of the modalities incorporated into my massages, as applicable, include:

Swedish, Deep Tissue, Injury Treatment, Anterior Neck Work, Deep Muscle Therapy, Neuromuscular Treatment, Muscle Energy Technique, Pregnancy

History

Established in 2008.

After studying art in college and trying out numerous careers, from photographic development to teaching English in Japan, I was drawn to massage due to my great interest in anatomy and my desire to help others.

I received my education at the Brian Utting School of Massage, graduating in 2007, then worked part time in a spa and part time for myself.

After the economy began to sour, I discovered that, while the spa clients had dried up, clients from my private practice were continuing to come in; so I decided to quit the spa, dedicate myself to my practice full-time, and move to my location on the Burke-Gilman trail in Fremont. I couldn’t be happier; it has always been my desire to pursue my small business full time and the economy gave me just the push I needed.

Shaina A.

Business Owner

I graduated from the Brian Utting School of Massage, where I participated in an internship with a chiropractor in Bellevue — gaining experience working with a variety of issues ranging from fibromyalgia, to post traumatic stress disorder, to disc degeneration. Previously, I’d received a bachelors at UW in art.

Clients have described my work as specific, gentle but deep, and intuitive. Though I enjoy working towards a variety of goals, I find myself frequently working on those who would like to improve their posture or recover from the strains of athletic training. I work hard to foster an open line of communication with my clients and their input is invaluable and I want them to feel comfortable and safe.
