Endolyne Joes in West Seattle serves your grandma’s American fare with a rotating international menu. While there isn’t any finesse in the cooking, and some of the food is bland, there are some items here that are really delicious and worth coming in to try.
The mac ‘n cheese is served in huge portion with breadcrumbs and a side salad, with the pasta baked. Another good choice is the fried chicken served on Sunday nights only till they run out of it. Their shakes are also out of this world. Try the coconut shake. They also cook steak well, setting grill marks on the NY.
The current rotating menu has Mexican food. I tried a sope, and it was fantastic.
In regards to the finer points of cooking, they are lacking it, such as knowing how to season food, how to chop items and knowing the difference between medium well and medium rare on a steak. I’ve received carrots that were broken apart with hands into big chunks vs. slicing them up into bite sized pieces as another example.
Stay away from the turkey sandwich which the menu doesn’t explain is an open faced hot sandwich with really bland turkey gravy, blander white toast and mashed potatoes with zero salt, butter or herbs.
I’ve been in here a couple of times. Our waitress the first time was friendly and although slow, did a good job. The waiter we had the second time seemed preoccupied with kitchen duty, didn’t refill drinks, didn’t wait for a response when asking us questions and told us that we couldn’t order dessert because the kitchen was closing.
Also, don’t come in when it’s near close. Their goal has been on both occasions when we have come in 30 – 45 min. to close to push people out the door, not focus on giving good service.
The restaurant use to be called End Of The Line as it was formerly the last business in Seattle, near the ferry. They changed the name when that was no longer the case.
The décor of the restaurant matches the current temporary Mexican theme.

Amazing! Fun, silly atmosphere with rotating themes. This month it’s Mexico so they had Mexican décor and food & drink specials. The veggie empanada and avocado margarita were both fantastic! Next month is Georgia– can’t wait to try some grits and peach-​inspired dishes! And the staff is so friendly, fun and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Some of these reviews are sad. They’re the perfect example of Me Me Me culture. I have a toddler who is more grown up.
They stopped serving hash-​browns? And you gave a bad review for the whole restaurant? Boo-​freaking-​Hoo.
And then the classic they won’t break their rules specifically for me and create a reservation on a day when they just don’t do it because I asked 3 weeks ahead of time? How narcissistic does a person have to be to leave a review like that? Answer: disgustingly narcissistic.
Either way, this restaurant is amazing. Tasty food, well priced, in a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I was visiting and came here with my family, which included 4 young kids. The staff was very friendly and patient with us, happily cleaned up my son’s spilled milk and brought them over more pancakes when they saw they had gobbled up everything off their plates. I had the omelet with sausage and apples. It was seriously the best omelet I have ever had in my life. And their breakfast potatoes are delicious. I wish we had a place this good near where I live!

Everything we eat here are really good. Definitely have to visit and eat here again!

We are in Seattle. Blessed Seattle, the third member of the West Coast Food Mecca Triumvirate, on equal footing with the SF Bay Area and Portlandia for culinary breadth and innovation — NO, Los Angeles doesn’t count because nobody eats, or if they do, they just throw it up later.
We are on a pointless and painful quest for furniture. I’m tired of explaining why I don’t want a leather sofa. I am sick. Spouse is getting sick, kid was sick, and it’s also that time of the month. Why is this important? I don’t want to be couch shopping, I want to be couch surfing. I want large doses of Nyquil and empathy. I’m losing my temper instead.
Comfort food is in order. My sinuses are currently trying to push through the front of my skull and my ears refuse to pop.
I’ve tried chicken soup. I’ve had some phở. I need a substantial meal and some fresh veggies and my zillionth cup of hot tea at a non-​chain. I also need a homey, non-​pretentious restaurant that’s kid-​friendly and it’s already past 8:30pm.
Spouse picked this place arbitrarily without even checking reviews. It’s busy, but there’s a lot of kids, and there’s parking. Our server introduces himself as Robert, though the credit card receipt says Roberto. I’m still not sure, because the theme is Mexican, and he could probably be Latino, but you know what? That’s his business, and nobody else’s.
You know when you have one of those truly wretched days, and you’re on your last nerve? Yeah. You know when the simplest thing could either turn you into a homicidal monster, or completely restore your faith in humanity? Poor Robert probably doesn’t realize he saved innocent bystanders from PMS-​fueled road rage with a simple serving of mac-​n-​cheese. It was perfect mac-​n-​cheese, the right balance of creamy and pasta with a flavor that permeated a stuffy nose. Served with a refreshing side of fresh greens and Robert’s amiable efficiency. It was very busy, he didn’t pause for breath, and yet he remained cheerful and attentive.
If I had collapsed weeping into his arms, it would probably freak him out. Still felt like it. Didn’t do it. Spouse and child appeared to happily gobble their food, too.

Great breakfast spot. Awesome french toast and really good drip coffee.

Asked for a side of cactus — but they are so stiff that they have to cook them with the potatoes — which I cannot eat. what a waste of food.

I love this place for Fried Chicken night. If you haven;t had it yet, it’s definitely worth a try! The service is always really good, the food is always really good and I can’t wait for patio season!!! Hurry up sun!

My family and I just moved to the area and couldn’t be happier with our experience at Joe’s. I had a killer breakfast sandwich called traveling Joe I believe and few days later a peppered bacon BLT. All very very tasty. I can see already that we will become regulars. The service was extremely kind and helpful.

I like that they switch up the theme quarterly I think it is. Good happy hour, $ 4 beer, wine and classic cocktail options. All night happy hour on Tuesdays! Don’t miss the Sunday fried chicken dinner too!

This place has peaceful ambience, waitresses are good.
A bit pricey, the mocha we ordered was not a mocha, just an espresso with chocolate. Overall not so great but a good try. My girlfriend liked her zucchini potato scramble.

This is our go-​to local resto. It is reliably delicious, convivial and accommodating. They have a good selection of gluten-​free options (for those who care about such nonsense) as well as vegetarian dishes, and have maintained their status as a firmly «neighborhood» meeting place.
Brunch is particularly great, as well as their Sunday Fried Chicken All-​Ages Orgy (not what they call it) and their quarterly menu reboot – emblematic of the Chow Foods way – always features delicious surprises. We are there often enough to authoritatively make recommendations on the full menu.
Also, Joe’s has some of the best fried chicken in the city (it sells out nightly and early) as well as some kind of magic juju with anything made from a pig, so take my advice: You can’t go wrong with the chops, no matter how they make ‘em!
I have only two complaints, but they are significant. First, ALL Chow Foods restaurants have an issue with basic recognition and reassurance of new patrons at the door. We have, on several occasions, waited for several minutes for someone to acknowledge our presence and let us know that someone would be with us soon. It seems a systemic issue as we have had similar frustrations at 5-​Spot and Hi-​Life. Initial contact is absolutely critical to an overall good service experience. They just need to be more on-​point at the door to correct this. Whatever task-​sharing the host is doing is taking them out of a critical role during busy hours. They need to always greet new patrons within seconds. Over a minute is too long. They need to get this loud and clear.
My second issue is going to be a big plus for a lot of people: This is a quintessential family restaurant, with free-​roaming children and annoying parents in the majority during certain hours. I personally can not stand encroaching children when I’m enjoying a meal so this is sometimes a turn-​around-​and-​walk-​out issue for me, being the embodiment of the unreformed Scrooge that I am. If you have kids, especially really, really annoying ones, you should know that you have a home here and that you won’t have me glowering at you from the next booth if you show up between 5 and 7.
Just keep them the hell out of the bar. Thank the gods this place has an adults-​only zone.

We went for the happy hour and we sat outside. We found out that happy hour is only at the bar, so head inside.
We had a few beers and the yummy calamari and tostadas. The food came fast and was flavorful! I’m excited to head back when the menu changes and also to check out the half price wine night and chicken dinner :)

Definitely one of the best family friendly classic restaurants you’ll find in the city. Their regular menu is full of «made at home» style takes on classic American dishes. You can tell take the extra step to make even the most basic items (like barbecue sauce) specially made. The key lime pie and calamari are some of my regular favorites.
The menu and décor are always changing as they do a monthly rotating menu of a different region. The walls and ceiling get decorated with fun home made decorations you might see your own kids make and hang on your fridge. Very unique and fun to come back and see. The menu changes to include specials on traditional meals from that region. You can tell they care and do their best to make the dish as authentic to home made from the region as possible.

A nice location just down the road from Lincoln Park. I Would highly recommend this restaurant for a great place to meet after a school event, happy hour ect. More than likely a local spot.
Service is personable though fast and frantic on a busy night. It would be a good idea to call ahead for reservations. The staff were extremely helpful with separate checks for our group.
Hears the deal; I tasted a few items, calamari salad, fish tacos, pork sandwich, black beans, rice. All were ok. For a restaurant that touts Cuban flair. I wonder if anyone had been to Cuba lately? Everything tasted extremely bland and dry. In fact each item was slightly off temperature as if it was in the window a bit too long. In addition I ordered a Strawberry shake and it was thin, melted and very little strawberry flavor.
Overall a nice attempt but fell short in the delivery.

I want to give a great recommendation, but just next door is Original Bakery and I seem to choose a donut and coffee over coming here for breakfast. So, there must be something lacking here to draw me in. Part of it may be that the menu is constantly changing so you’re not sure what’s going to be on it. Another may be that I came here and of course had to have the gravy and biscuits and it wasn’t that great.

Endolyne Joe’s is one of the few places in West Seattle to grab some good, classic American fare at an affordable price.
I appreciate the diversity of the menu… there’s definitely something for everyone here! The food is consistent and super yummy. I highly recommend their baked macaroni and cheese. The cheese is an ultra creamy mixture cheddar and blue cheese. It’s sharp and gooey and perfect. The whole thing is topped with breadcrumbs and baked, so with every spoonful you get the rich mac and cheese with the crispy topping. Their calamari is also wonderful. The calamari is lightly breaded and quickly fried. It is so tender and incredibly light. It’s served with a smoky chipotle lime aioli that’s out of this world. YUM!
The atmosphere is also a lot of fun. They have a rotating theme and change their décor accordingly. The last time I went the restaurant was decked out in a Chicago theme (Chicago Bears posters, street signs, etc.), but it was about to change to Cuba. With every change in theme they have some specials reflecting the theme as well.
My only small complaint is the service can be slow. The last time I came in for happy hour, the place was practically empty. However, because our waiter was also the bartender, it was difficult to get his attention when we needed something, and he rarely came around to make sure we didn’t need anything. That said, it’s great having a place like this in West Seattle. If you’re new to the neighborhood or otherwise haven’t given Endolyne Joe’s a try, stop in!
