I just got my nail done at Excellent. They have hot towel, hot rock and message shoulder. Great services and all employees is friendly. Everyone thoughtful and killed. Made a great first impression! New owner 2 months ago, off to a really good start !

I had one of the best shellac manicures here. They had almost every shade of polish you could wish for and my manicure was impeccable. She took her time with me and I never felt rushed. The massage was excellent as well and she included a paraffin wax treatment free of charge. The energy in this place was pleasant. It felt like they all enjoyed working there and they were happy to meet your needs! I will be back!

Bought the groupon. Showed up, and explained what groupon I got, so they had me choose colors.
Women who were 30 minutes late for their appointment got sat 10 before me, and 20 minutes after my appointment.
Three different people worked on my mani and pedi at different stages and were not on the same page.
They left acetone on my nails for nearly 40 minutes which wrecked my nails/​fingers. Cut my cuticles multiple times after I repeatedly asked them to stop. Then as my toes were being finished informed me that my shellac toes would be $ 15 on top of the groupon because it wasn’t included even though I showed them the groupon previously and they had me choose the colors after from shellac samples.
Pedicure was mediocre at best. Feet are still rough and paint was all over my toes.

Goes for manicure, except there was a ton of paint outside my nails on my fingers! I chose one color for my nails, but she used another.
When I tried to fix it she couldn’t understand so I was forced to just go with it.
They do not have a uv light for toes, so they use a hand light. Which my foot was too big for and kept burning me. Which the nail tech continually ignored. Despite me telling her it burnt and saying
Ouch and moving my feet.
The store was pretty filthy and they didn’t clean the chairs/​pedi stations between patrons.
Gave an awkward neck/​upper back massage that wrecked my neck.
It was a horror of a visit.
I also don’t understand how the multiple «reviewers» know the nail tech’s names. No one was introduced or introduced themselves to me. Very chaotic and unprofessional. Just making noises to have me do things like move my feet or hands.

I am not one to write reviews, and can understand when establishments make mistakes, but this was a pretty bad experience.
I recently moved to Wallingford from Upper Queen Anne and against my best judgement decided to try a new spot closer to home. From the moment I walked in for my shellac manicure, I knew I made a mistake. Besides the large assortment of colors, I wanted to leave the moment I got there. My fingers soaked for less than 30 seconds, cuticles were not cut down, application was messy, all the while the employees were acting like they were there only ones in the shop and acted like I was a nuisance. To top it off, it’s 2 days later and the color is cracking and peeling. Normally the color last almost 3 weeks.
I’m already making an appointment at my old place to get them redone. Don’t waste your money.

Called a week in advance to get an appointment for a Saturday morning for my girlfriend and I. We made the appt for 10:30am thinking it wouldn’t be busy yet. We got there at 10:25am and were told we had to wait 30 mins to be seen… even though we had an appt. After waiting until 11am to get started on our mani/​pedi, we were there until 12:30pm and then when we were waiting for our nails to dry, no one told us if we were done or what was to happen as we were sitting with our nails in the dryer bays for 10 mins… so we got up and still no contact. We stood waiting for someone to acknowledge us so we could settle the bill for 15 mins. Total time being in the salon for 2 mani/pedi’s booked together with an appt was over 2 hours… Service was terrible and nobody gave a care about us. Both of our hands had nail polish all over them and 2 days later my nails are chipping. Will NOT be returning to this place.

I have been looking for a new salon for a few years! My previous salon that I went to was sold, and then closed due to light rail. I have tried so many salons in the area, and just hadn’t found one that had a good vibe like other salon that I went to.
I found it today! After a quick Unilocal search I found that this salon had just been bought and reopened with new owners. My friend and I enjoyed our visit to this salon! The owners are just fantastic! I witnessed the owner helping a regular client with a walker to her car outside. It was just nice to see that level of customer care.
This salon is very clean and well styled. The space is small and there are four pedicure chairs, and a manicure station as well. If you want to go at a busier time I would make a reservation if you have a time constraint. My mani/​pedi is perfect, and they have a great selection of polish! Thank you I will be back Excellent Nails!

I went here after I got a Groupon for the shellac mani and the deluxe pedi and everything was fantastic! Johnny did the pedi and was thorough and friendly. I felt welcome and like the techs were not talking about me the whole time.
Thuy did my shellac mani but she was also very thorough (quiet but also very friendly) — my nails haven’t looked this perfect after a manicure for a long time!
These guys really give you 5 star service. I don’t think that I have been anywhere that does scrubs, moisturizers, massages, hot stone, and paraffin wax all in one place. Definitely will continue to come here!

My new go-​to nail spot!
They recently changed management and the new owner, Johnny, is super friendly and accommodating! The place is small, but really cozy. They have brand new fabulous pedicure stations that I am looking forward to trying out. I was also informed that they’ll be taking credit cards soon which is awesome!
Today I got a fill from Jen. She is extremely careful and gentle which is a pleasant surprise to me because every time I go to a new nail salon, the nail tech cuts or burns me with the drill– but not here! I loved that she applied cuticle oil and quick-​dry drops to my nails to perfect them. The nail stations also have UV lights/​fans right underneath the tabletop so you can comfortably dry one hand while your other hand is being worked on.
I am in love with my nails! The shape is perfect, the length is even, and the color application is nice and clean. Can’t wait to come back!

I had a mani /​pedi done here over the weekend. I am very impressed! It is just a small little shop, but they did a fabulous job! It is four days later and still looking great. I even made dinner and did dishes for a big family dinner and still no chips. They really took the time to make sure my nails were perfect. This was a great value! I will absolutely come back. Thanks a bunch!

I love this place!!! It’s small, quiet and simple. Thai pays so much attention to detail, it’s amazing. They do a great job and care about and take pride in what they do. They could use some music, but other than that… It’s an awesome salon! My nails always look amazing. Thanks guys!!!

I love this place! They are friendly and do great work. Johnny remembers your name every time so you feel like a friend rather than just a customer. They have a great selection of colors also. They do manis, pedis (with massaging chairs), waxing, acrylics, and shellac. They are very reasonably priced too.

I went there and I got a shellac, the two people there were friendly and I liked my nails, but to be honest to be a regular «client» I need at least have some advantages, they don’t accept debit or credit cards and it was the most expensive nail salon that I have ever been. I really needed a nail spa near work, but seems like I will have to search other options :(

My shellac manicure was so sloppy, it started peeling on the next day! In the past, other places, it never peeled at all.
I must say I liked this place. People are friendly, and Tai did a good job with my pedicure on previous visits. But no matter how nice or cheap, at the end, you want your manicure to look good for more than 2 days.
The problem was that the polish nearest the cuticle was done so sloppily, that it started to peel away the following day. (see the picture). Shellac went over the skin, creating air pockets near the cuticle. Only one out of 10 nails actually stayed put. And as it peeled and chipped, it didn’t just look terrible, it was super annoying to keep catching the ledge of shellac on stuff.
At my first opportunity, I went in to have it removed. What was sad, was that Tai asked me how long it lasted, I said just a few days, and he didn’t say anything.
They could have at least offered to take it off for free.
Nope. I paid $ 30 something (shellac+tip) plus $ 5 to take it off, so, $ 40+ for a manicure that lasted less than a week. Not gonna do that again.

Excellent Nails is my new go to place for a pedi. I don’t have a ton of experience getting my nails done. I really enjoy the luxury of it but don’t want or need a ton of frills attached. That’s why I love Excellent Nails so much. They do a very thorough job efficiently without making you feel rushed and I like their no nonsense approach. The first time I went I was a walk in, I decided to pop in at the spur of the moment, and they were obviously very busy but insisted they could fit me in in a half an hour. They were very gracious and did a wonderful job not only with me but all the other clients in the room. They were a bit overbooked but nobody there would have noticed due to their excellent service. They did a better, more intensive job than other places I’ve gone that charge more, and really, their prices are pretty amazing. I will definitely keep coming back!

So this place is absolutely nothing to look at from the outside. It could be in any strip mall in the US and the good news is that your low expectations will be met by an equally boring inside with uncomfortable waiting chairs, a not great nail polish selection and only two people working at any given time.
The place needs a major renovation and cleaning but, the kicker is that if you want your nails done well and inexpensively, you need to go here. $ 30 gets you a mani and a pedi. Yes, 30 American dollars my friends. UNheard of! The dude who runs the place is super nice and you should go to him because the woman who helps has some sort of vendetta against cuticles and will remove yours. Somewhat painfully might I note. But, you know for a great looking mani/​pedi for $ 30 maybe you can consider a visit to have your cuticles ripped out a weight loss treatment?
Bottom line… ask for the dude, book in advance esp on weekends and bring your own everything cuz there are no free glasses of wine and water with lemon here.

Five stars for the leg wax. Fast, well-​done (few broken hairs) and almost painless. Four stars for the pedicure. It still looks pretty good 3 weeks later, but I like the edge of the nails to be painted, too, and they didn’t provide heat or fans to dry the polish, so I had a long wait before I could leave. Nice long calf rub, though.

This was my mani/​pedi place when I lived in Wallingford. He does a great job, is friendly, and the place is small which kind of makes it feel more welcoming. Great big windows for good natural light. My polish always came out looking perfect — even when I had to come back in because I trashed the polish on one nail with my sandals driving home.
Oh, yeah, and the price is right.

It was a last minute plan to get a mani and pedi, i looked at the clock but it is almost 5pm. I called the 2 places that I normally go to but they closed at 6PM, I decided to google a nail spa close close to where I live (Fremont) and I called 1 place on Phinney Ridge but they close at 6PM, too. Then I called Excellent and the male who answered the phone said that they are busy but I can come in at 7PM. I asked him again about the time becasue it says on their link that they close at 7PM. But the male said that, yes he can still accomodate me at 7pm.
I arrived 15mins. early and I was accomodated a little after 7PM. I didn’t have a problem waiting because I felt relieve seating at their pedi massage chair, completely unique and better than any other nail salons I have been to. They have a neat shop, clean instruments, nice cable TV, and portable a/​c.
The female was the one who attended to me, she is thorough with her work and was able to follow my direction on how I would like to cut my toe nails.
Good that I have my check book with me. Otherwise, I will have to go and find a place where I will withdraw cash. Price is reasonable at $ 30 for mani and pedi.
I will be back at this place for sure.
